00:00In a world that needs more understanding and unity, it's the women who often lead the way with strength and grace.
00:08And today, we shine the spotlight on an organization that champions global peace through education.
00:13Well, joining us this morning is Laura Lee, the manager of the International Affairs Department of International Women's Peace Group, Global Region 1.
00:22And with Ms. Sumi Kim, good morning and welcome here at Rise and Shine, Filipinas.
00:26Good morning.
00:27Good morning.
00:30All right, could you briefly introduce to us about what IWPG is all about among many approaches to, you know, peace, why does this organization focus on peace education?
01:03Hello, nice to see you, everyone.
01:06IWPG stands for International Women's Peace Group.
01:10We are the peace NGO that offers the platform where all the civilians and women can gather together.
01:18We think we are doing a lot of various peace activities, but out of all things, we put high-risk priority on peace education.
01:26IWPG's peace education is not just delivered in terms of peace education.
01:33All right, so how is IWPG's peace education structured and what makes it unique compared to other educational programs?
01:39IWPG's peace education is not just delivered in the knowledge. We are starting from the self-reflections and then consider what is really the inner conflict inside of this reflection on yourself.
02:06IWPG's peace education and what makes it unique compared to other kinds of educational programs among other institutions.
02:42So, what we're doing is that we're going to share a conversation with each other,
02:49but we're going to share a discussion with each other.
02:55Yes, just like I told you, it's not just about the knowledge,
02:59and we are starting with understanding of yourself,
03:02understanding of what is really like makes me keep a barrier to keep myself at peace.
03:10So, we are sharing our examples and good examples, especially the dialogue,
03:18leading to the fundamental changes of yourself.
03:22Alright, so what kind of real-life changes have you seen in people who have received IWPG's Peace Education?
03:29Are there any changes through education?
03:33Yes, many people who took our Peace Education, they are telling us that this is, they have reflected on themselves for the first time, truly, truly.
03:43And then, it's leading to the inner change of their self, and they realize their value, really.
03:49And then, they are not merely striving to just live, striving for a survival.
03:55They are the one who can shape the future.
03:59Alright, the importance and essential of being a woman in terms of peace.
