00:05the long-running soap opera after seven years, playing Sasha Gilmore. Her final episode on July

00:1018th saw Jason Morgan, played by Steve Burton, help her to leave the country for her baby Daisy's

00:16safety. And for the actress, her long tenure on the show was a pleasant surprise. Sophia told TV

00:21Insider in an interview published July 18th, I started off thinking it would be just a few

00:26episodes on recurring status, so I definitely did not think I'd stay so long, but I will say it's

00:31gone by incredibly quickly. From the start, I've seen every day as a challenge and opportunity to

00:35grow as an actress, and honestly, that mindset never stopped. I feel like I earned something new

00:40every day until the end. She further reflected on what it was like to step onto the set during her

00:45early days on the show. I remember being very nervous and overwhelmed, but in a good way.

00:50It definitely took some getting used to the fast pace and heavy material, but I loved the challenge.

00:55I also remember really enjoying Sasha's earlier days of being a bit of a bad girl. That's always

01:00fun to play. She also shared another perk of working on a show that's been running since 1963,

01:06working with seasoned soap opera stars. And for her, fellow cast members Michelle Stafford and

01:11Donald Turner were there to show her the ropes. She explained,

01:14Honestly, most people on the show are very helpful to newcomers. I guess everyone remembers how lost you

01:19can feel during the early days. Ultimately, her first soap opera role was an experience to remember.

01:24As she put it, all of those twists and turns along the way is part of what makes it so fun for an actress.
