A 24-year-old military officer was killed in a head-on collision with a tanker on his way to work at Jalan Solok Duku in Masjid Tanah on Saturday (July 19) morning

Alor Gajah OCPD Supt Ashari Abu Samah identified the deceased as Lft/M Muhammad Akmal Mohamad Amjaduzzahwi from the Royal Malay Army Regiment at Terendak Camp.

00:00A 24-year-old military officer was killed in a head-on collision
00:03with a tanker on his way to work at Jalan Sologduku in Masjid Tanah.
00:09The deceased has been identified as Lieutenant Muda Muhammad Akmal
00:13Muhammad Amjaduzawi from the Royal Malay Army Regiment at Terendak Camp.
00:18The victim died on the spot due to severe head injuries in the accident
00:22at 4.19 a.m. on Saturday.
00:25Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased is believed
00:28to have lost control of his car before colliding with the tanker.
00:33The deceased was travelling to Terendak Camp from Masjid Tanah
00:37while the tanker was heading from Tanjung Bidara to Masjid Tanah.
00:41It is learnt that the 42-year-old tanker driver tested negative for drugs
00:46but had seven previous traffic offence records.
00:50The accident is being investigated under Section 41,
00:54subsection 1 of the Road Transport Act, 1987.
