00:33the special offer on its social feed at midnight on Thursday. According to exhibition sources,
00:3895% of seats were snapped up within an hour, representing about a total of $1.5 million
00:44in ticket sales. As the day and night unfolded, one source said that there were reports of tickets
00:49being resold on eBay and other sites for anywhere between $300 and $400, compared to an average
00:55retail price of $25 to $28. As of now, showings at theaters in New York City, Universal City,
01:02California, and Irvine, California are among those completely sold out, while seats are almost gone
01:07at a few IMAX locations in places like San Francisco, California. By all accounts, it's the first time in
01:12history that tickets have gone on sale a year before a film's opening. The title is a follow-up to
01:17Nolan's Oscar-winning Oppenheimer, which did huge business in IMAX theaters.
