00:00About 4.30 on Tuesday afternoon, police and emergency services were informed of a possible plane crash in the Cairn Coburn area.
00:11As a result, police and other emergency services attended the location and a search was commenced for that aeroplane.
00:20A number of air assets were deployed.
00:23However, due to the prevailing weather conditions, it was hampered, the search, on that first day.
00:31Over the following days, the search has continued with a number of air assets as well as people on the ground conducting the search.
00:41We've had Police Rescue, Alpine Operators, SES, National Parks and Wildlife Service, Snowy Hydro staff assisting as well.
00:53We've also had ACT Police, some of their Alpine Operators give us some assistance, as well as VicPol Police air assets, as well as VicPol Ambulance Service and New South Wales Ambulance Service.
01:08Yesterday afternoon, the crash site for the plane was identified and discovered.
01:16It's clear from the wreckage of that plane that there's been a significant impact into the terrain there in the Snowy Mountains.
01:27Today, a recovery operation is underway where we've got investigators as well as crime scene attending that scene to clarify the cause of the collision and also see if we can identify the pilot.
01:51There's quite a bit of wreckage from that impact. It's fairly clear that it wouldn't be survivable.
01:59You wouldn't recognise it as an aeroplane. It's just a significant impact.
02:05Obviously, a fair bit of speed into the mountain range there, which has completely destroyed that aircraft.
02:12And as I said, it wouldn't be a survivable collision.
02:16We've had a number of air assets that have been up there over the last few days.
02:21The weather has been fairly inclement, with a lot of cloud and so forth, so it's been difficult for the air assets to locate that scene.
02:34But as I said, yesterday afternoon, it was located about 10 kilometres east of Kent Hoban.
02:40As I said, our local investigators will shortly be on scene there, along with our crime scene investigators.
02:47So they'll be able to do a thorough examination of the scene and no doubt be able to work out what may have contributed to the aircraft crash and then also positively identify the pilot.
03:04It's a small issue.
03:06We've used to be able to take everything, with a very small angle.
03:09The first question is, where are you going to be able to play with a pair of planes.
03:12The world is not a passenger, but it's not a passenger.
03:14So that the thing you do really want to do with a very strong angle, you know?
03:17And the gustarÃa and all of you are a little bit of a car.
03:19Yes, of course.
03:21So that I definitely want to push my point out of time.
03:23So we're going to make a big difference.
03:25If you want to privalyse to the mobile device, you're going to be able to be able to hear the equipment.
03:29I mean, the way of the equipment, you've got to have all the equipment, and you're going to go to the equipment.
