01:54ring from Nevada, referee Russell Mora. And now ladies and gentlemen, the stage is set and we are here.
02:07This is it. The time has come. I said the time has come. From the four corners of the world to the four
02:25corners of this ring right here in Las Vegas. The fight starts now.
02:33Introducing first, the defending world champion. He wears the black with burgundy trim. He scaled 174.6 pounds.
02:49His professional record, a perfect one. 19 fights, 19 victories, 11 of them coming by way of knockout.
02:59Tonight, he makes his eighth defense of his world title. Fighting out of India, California.
03:05Here is the reigning, defending, undefeated, WBA life heavyweight champion of the world, Dmitry Bivo.
03:16Bivo. Bivo.
03:24Adam is a puppet across the ring, fighting out of the blue corner. Tonight, he is the challenger. He wears the pink
03:32with gold trim. He scaled at already 174.4 pounds. In 2005 in Guadalajara, Mexico. At the age of 15,
03:42he turned professional. Six years later, he won his first world title. His professional record now stands
03:50at 57 victories. One defeat, two draws with 39 wins coming by way of knockout. Tonight, he appears in his 22nd
04:01world title fight. He is the four division world champion. The three division unified world champion. The two
04:11division and the first and only undisputed super middleweight champion of the world. Here is boxing's
04:21biggest attraction. The pound-for-pound king, the pound-for-pound king,
04:24the pound-for-pound king, fighting outside the land of Tequila and the mariachis, Guadalajara,
04:32Jalisco, Mexico. The proud of the Mexican people, SaĂșl Carmelo Álvarez. Álvarez.
04:48Álvarez.
04:50What?
04:56Okay, gentlemen. Trunks here are good. Trunks here are good. Anything below this belt line is a foul.
05:01We went over the rules in the dressing room. I want to remind you – protect yourself at all times,
05:06will be my commands. God bless you both. Touch up.
05:09Can Canelo Alvarez continue to boldly go where Nomad has gone before?
05:21Or is he about to run into a 175-pound stop sign in the undefeated light heavyweight champion
05:32of the world, Dimitri Bivol.
05:36Here we go.
05:3712 rounds.
05:39Las Vegas, Nevada.
05:44Todd Grisham, Chris Mannix, Daniel Jacobs, and Sergio Moore ringside.
05:51What's the key here in the first round, Sergio?
05:54First round is to get past that jab, that shotgun jab of Bivol.
05:58How is he going to be able to break that distance that Bivol keeps so well?
06:02Canelo said he can't get off to a slow start, which he usually likes to do.
06:04Daniel, why is that?
06:07Because Bivol is a puncher that throws shots in bunches.
06:11He has a large arsenal that he uses, but one of them being his punch count.
06:18Canelo can't start off short and slow because he'll be back-trained.
06:23And he's going to throw that jab a lot.
06:25In his last fight, 76% of his punches were jabs.
06:29Talking to Bivol's team this week, they want to be unpredictable with the right hand.
06:33They felt Kovalev was more too predictable when he tried to throw that.
06:37They want to make Canelo thinking about that right hand for most of this fight.
06:43Canelo trying to come around the guard.
06:44The high guard of Bivol right now with left and right hooks.
06:50Tight guard being shown here by Canelo.
06:54Same tight guard that he had in front of Kovalev, like Mannix said.
06:57So that jab will be effective even if it's just touching those gloves.
07:05Bivol's never been down.
07:0711 KOs, 19 wins.
07:12Of course, Canelo has never been knocked down either.
07:16Left hand off the top of the head from Alvarez.
07:19There's that right hand stabbing jab downstairs.
07:21I want to see more body shots.
07:37Canelo always finds a way around the guards.
07:40He had a little difficult time with Caleb Plant.
07:42He finally found a hold for the right hand to the gut.
07:46To the right side, to the left side of Plant's shoulder roll defense.
07:51Chris, is this going to be the way Bivol fights every single round tonight?
07:56You know, that's the sense I got from talking to his team.
07:58They want to create the distance between Canelo and keep throwing that jab.
08:02Because when they watch back the Kovalev fight,
08:04they know that Kovalev didn't hurt Canelo.
08:07But that fight was close on the scorecards at the time of the stoppage
08:10because of the sheer volume of punches, jabs specifically, that Kovalev was throwing.
08:15Look at him throwing more frequently here in round one.
08:20A good start for Bivol.
08:22Bivol has better fundamentals and foundation than Kovalev.
08:27And I like it.
08:28He has smart feet.
08:29Always aware of his positioning with his footwork.
08:32But he has to gain the respect of Canelo
08:34because Canelo is just walking past and down his guards.
08:43An uppercut at the bell for Canelo.
08:46After rear touch, you, can you walk the same window with your fingers?
09:01He was usually the smaller man going up against the big guys.
09:31Absolutely, you know, he's one of Brownsville Brooklyn greatest heavyweight champion and boxing's greatest heavyweight champion, so it's a pleasure to have him here.
09:43So we're off and running round two here between B-ball and Canelo.
09:49As expected, B-ball has showered Javs onto Alvarez.
09:55There's more of them. Canelo doing a good job blocking those, but they're always there, Sergio.
10:00Yeah, but he hasn't let go of that right hand yet.
10:02I want to see how Canelo's going to react with the strength of that right hand, whether it's to the chin or to the body,
10:08because B-ball does throw a nice piercing right hand to the body as well.
10:13So right at the end of the first round, at the start of the second round, Canelo trying to sneak that uppercut on the inside.
10:19Keep an eye on that moving forward.
10:31There's a one-two for B-ball.
10:40There's an uppercut again that just misses.
10:43You can hear the crowd respond to that.
10:54B-ball seems as if he's just trying to find what works for him.
10:57He's tapping him, trying to find the range, trying to see what punches he can land comfortably.
11:02But Canelo's defense is extremely tight. It's really hard to get past that high guard.
11:08It really is. That's why you've got to be content with just touching those gloves.
11:12Take what you can.
11:14And we saw Canelo Alvarez against Callum Smith constantly hit his arms.
11:19Do you think Alvarez might try to do the same to B-ball to stop the jab?
11:23Yeah, in that first round, I noticed Canelo was landing to the left shoulder of him,
11:26so maybe he wants to tire off those shoulders as well.
11:29Keep aiming at those biceps.
11:33Oh, that snuck through and caught the chin a little bit for Canelo.
11:36Whenever Canelo starts loading up, even if you block those shots, they're still going to have an impact.
11:46B-ball's going to find that out soon.
11:48No, no, don't push him. Don't push him.
12:04Look at B-ball trying to be the boss.
12:07And this is what B-ball has to do.
12:09Even if he makes it a little bit ugly pushing him, leaning on him, he has to be aggressive.
12:14And he has to make it uncomfortable for Canelo.
12:17And, Danny, we talk about Canelo having such great power.
12:20Is this more power than B-ball's used to, considering he's the heavier fighter?
12:24I would say so. Canelo's definitely a jab-packed type of power fighter.
12:29And so his punches has a lot of thump behind him, including speed.
12:33This might be a little bit different than what B-ball's experienced before.
12:39Swing and a miss with a left hook by Canelo.
12:43Well, Chris, he wanted to fight a light heavyweight.
12:45And Dimitri B-ball looks to park so far.
12:47Yeah, Dimitri B-ball looks sharp in these early rounds.
12:50He clearly has a good game plan.
12:52And he is throwing that right hand a little bit more than I expected him to early on.
12:56There's that right hand to the body.
13:02That's a sneaky power punch by B-ball that sits up the right hand upstairs.
13:07I want to see more punches like that for Canelo.
13:09Not many opponents throw body shots at Canelo.
13:12There's another uppercut trying to split the guard for Alvarez.
13:19But you can see when B-ball throws the one-twos like this, he is scoring.
13:24And these are bothering Canelo, Daniel.
13:26And you can see...
13:27Excuse me, Daniel.
13:28You can see the forehead of Canelo getting red in as well.
13:32So those jabs and those punches, even though they're not a lot of power behind them, they're still having an effect.
13:42That left goes around the guard of B-ball.
13:45He's keeping that hand up high because he has to.
13:47Well, the game plan is pretty obvious for B-ball.
14:01And so far, it's been fairly successful.
14:04Jabs, straight right hands, in bunches.
14:07And stepping back, not giving Canelo a chance to break that range.
14:12Maintain that distance, stay behind the jab.
14:15He has to do too, but he's stepping back with his hands up, which is a good thing.
14:18You know, as in the last fight we've seen, the last fight, he's stepping back with his hands down.
14:22It wasn't a good...
14:23And how about B-ball coming back after Alvarez landed those right hands?
14:28And that's why B-ball is going to be such a hard fight.
14:31Not only because of the jab and the footwork, but you're right.
14:33He pulls back with the hands up, so it's hard to pierce those gloves.
14:37Good job, good job, good job.
14:44Again, a flurry from B-ball.
14:47And there was a conversation, Chris, all week long.
14:50Can B-ball win a decision over Canelo and Baines?
14:53Watch your head, watch your head!
14:54Like he can if he throws punches like this.
15:02We've seen Canelo in the early stages of a fight take his time and then start to figure out his opponent and wear him down.
15:10Sergio, do you think he can do that against this bigger man?
15:13I just, he's going to have a harder time doing it with B-ball because look, B-ball's not going to stay against the ropes just like he did there.
15:19He's always going to have the fight in the middle of the ring and B-ball is not loading up on punches as well.
15:28We haven't seen a lot of fighters come after Canelo the way that B-ball has.
15:36This is an excellent round for Dimitri B-ball.
15:39Come on!
15:40Oh, my God, my God!
15:42What?
16:01Three rounds.
16:02Apenas, hijo, eh.
16:03You're dominating him.
16:05You're dominating him in the middle of the ring.
16:07There's no need to put you on the ropes
16:09because you're giving advantage.
16:11You're throwing him.
16:13Okay?
16:15Just a little bit.
16:17Just a little bit.
16:19Just a little bit.
16:21Just a little bit.
16:23Stay off the ropes.
16:25Stay off the ropes.
16:27You're doing a really good job in the middle of the ring.
16:31Nice uppercut lands right there.
16:33Looking for an opening.
16:35This is what Canelo does well.
16:37When he can't find something going on on the left side,
16:39he comes around the guard.
16:41Bebo coming back, not loading up on shots,
16:43keeping that range as well.
16:45So a good start for Dimitri Bebo
16:49as we begin round four.
16:55Canelo wanted to be challenged, Daniel.
16:57He wanted to face the best of the best.
16:59He's got a challenge tonight, doesn't he?
17:01Absolutely.
17:02But I'm wondering when we're going to see the power of Bebo.
17:05As of now, we've seen defense.
17:07We've seen speed.
17:09We've seen movement.
17:11But we haven't seen that light heavyweight power
17:13that we know he has.
17:15Chris Mannix, how do you have it scored through three rounds?
17:17I've got two rounds to one in favor of Dimitri Bebo.
17:19I think his combinations have been sharp.
17:21His jab has been active.
17:23Both these guys are very good defensive fighters.
17:25Both are keeping their guards up,
17:27catching a lot of these punches.
17:29But Bebo, the volume has worked for him
17:31in the first three rounds.
17:33I like that right hand.
17:41Yeah, right hand to the body.
17:42You don't see, as you mentioned,
17:44a lot of fighters go to Canelo's body.
17:46Bebo is doing it here and going back upstairs as well.
17:49Bebo's not much of a body puncher,
17:51but it's that right hand right there that does enough work.
17:54And it sets up all the punches upstairs afterwards.
17:58Bebo doing a pretty good job
18:00defending that right hand of Canelo,
18:01although it has scored at times.
18:03Bebo doing a great job backing up,
18:06not letting Canelo punch his feet.
18:08Staying off the ropes, just like that.
18:10His backs touch the ropes, he's moving laterally.
18:21According to CompuBox,
18:23Bebo has thrown 40 more punches than Alvarez so far.
18:32Canelo's sitting down on those right hands.
18:35Canelo's with all power shots this round.
18:51Is Canelo trying to bake Bebo into opening up a little bit?
18:57I think he is.
18:58I believe he is,
18:59because he's not having no success backing up Bebo
19:01and trying to punch through the guard.
19:04So now he's trying to play possum a little bit
19:06and trying to get Bebo to get overconfident.
19:10Not going to happen.
19:11I mean, that's not his game plan.
19:12That's not Bebo's strategy.
19:14Discipline is one of his strongest attributes.
19:17Yes, it is.
19:18Now Canelo starting to come forward a little bit.
19:33Oh, massive uppercut thrown there from Alvarez.
19:36They're showing a lot of respect to each other at the end of every round.
19:52I mean.
19:53Yes!
19:54That's enough!
19:56Under a round of red.
20:02How do you feel?
20:03How do you feel?
20:04Good!
20:05How do you feel?
20:06Good!
20:07As long as you need.
20:08Like.
20:09So good.
20:10Peace!
20:11No you have to make these punches!
20:132,2,3 no more...
20:144,5 amazing stuff!
20:15Ăłw.
20:16Woo Drum!
20:17From here on up there!
20:18It's reduced your arms.
20:19Okay.
20:20Here's that big right uppercut that landed by Canelo Alvarez but was it
20:28enough to sway the judges people did some good work in that round both men
20:32did but it's those punches right there that leave a lasting impression on the
20:38judges the uppercut has been the best weapon for Alvarez so far absolutely
20:44it's been one of us on the shots leaving an impression to well I think
20:56through four full rounds it's pretty apparent that this is not going to be a
21:00walk in the park for Canelo Alvarez who's a five to one favorite according to the
21:04odd makers here in Vegas but we've seen this before with Canelo Alvarez where
21:12he's biding his time maybe even losing rounds or close rounds we've seen it with
21:17Caleb Plant we've seen it with BJ Saunders and then in a flash he turns it on
21:33last round it was B-ball who was coming forward start of the fifth it's Canelo
21:42he's making a point to win this round and back up B-ball make him feel his power
21:49there's a big right hooks over hand right being landed by Canelo look at B-ball look at B-ball look at B-ball
21:56Bevo not throwing back as much this round.
22:00Yeah, Canelo is making a point to win this round and back up Bevo,
22:06make him feel his power.
22:12Those are big right hooks overhand rights being landed by Canelo.
22:15Oh, look at Bevo.
22:18Look at him go.
22:20Oh, my word, Bevo.
22:22And Canelo wants more of it.
22:26The crowd wants more of it, too.
22:37Is that frustration for Canelo?
22:39No, I just think that's discipline by Bevo.
22:42I mean, he landed his shots, got the crowd going, landed his points,
22:45then he went back in control.
22:47That's what he does so well.
22:49He stays in control.
22:51No emotion from Bevo.
22:53He's a boxing robot in there.
22:56And that's what you need when you're fighting Canelo.
23:02You need that discipline.
23:03You don't fight with emotion.
23:05You fight with intelligence.
23:06That's what Demetri Bevo is so great at.
23:09What do you make of his demeanor so far, Daniel?
23:12Bevo's demeanor to me seems as if he's just trying to weather the storm right now because Canelo is putting on an onslaught.
23:19And so maybe he's trying to just patiently wait, maybe let Canelo die down a few.
23:26But ultimately his movement is still apparent.
23:29And so as long as he can stay moving like this, he can stay in this fight.
23:34Another good jab.
23:35And then a left from Bevo.
23:40Who started out slow in this round but finished strong.
23:43Good.
23:52Good.
23:54Good.
23:55Good.
23:56Good.
23:57You're good.
23:59You're good.
24:01You're good.
24:03You're good.
24:05You're good.
24:07Don't stop losing your jab.
24:09Keep your jab on him.
24:11Hold it tight.
24:13Give him the other body.
24:15And without him, when you walk,
24:17you're going to kick him to the distance.
24:19He's gone.
24:21He's gone.
24:23Good.
24:25He's gone.
24:31So this is a good shot that I was talking about.
24:33The onslaught that Bibble had.
24:35He was able to let his hands go,
24:37punches and bunches, getting past Canelo's guard.
24:39And even though Canelo is normally
24:41simply on the road,
24:43he wasn't able to avoid these punches here.
24:45Hey, those were some heavy, heavy
24:47shots that landed Chris Maxx.
24:49They were. And, you know,
24:51Bibble's overall activity has
24:53dipped the last couple of rounds, but that
24:55blurry right there might have been his most effective one
24:57of the night.
24:59And Canelo claimed to want more of it
25:01as he tried to wave Bebo back in, but Bebo
25:03not having it.
25:05And the reason Canelo couldn't counter
25:07that onslaught and that combination is because
25:09Bebo wasn't loading up.
25:11He was just turning his redstone shoulders.
25:13Finishing it off with a straight right hand as Bebo
25:23and again he connects.
25:25Very impressive stuff by Bebo.
25:29Canelo trying to land the right hand again.
25:41Let's see if he goes back to the uppercut that was successful
25:43early on in this fight.
25:45There is one.
25:47Any time Bebo's back hits the ropes,
25:49he gets right in the center of the ring.
25:51That's ring generalship and that's the reason Canelo's
25:53having a hard time pinning down
25:55Dimitri Bibble.
25:59I think Canelo's gonna have to be content
26:01with hitting shoulders, arms, and forearms
26:03in this fight because Bebo,
26:05his defense is too tight, the footwork's too good.
26:09Chris, is this the type of fight you thought
26:11we'd see in the sixth round?
26:13I expected this much activity
26:15from Dimitri Bibble with the jab.
26:17I didn't expect this many combinations
26:19and really the comfort level.
26:21We spoke a lot before this fight
26:23but would those flights in the moment be too big
26:25for Dimitri Bibble at this point?
26:27Absolutely not.
26:29He seems unaffected by everything as we
26:31check in with Sean Porter.
26:33Listen, Dimitri Bibble supporters hang on.
26:37I do have him losing this fight.
26:39Two rounds to three but what I'm seeing from him,
26:41Sergio Moro said, control, discipline, intelligence.
26:45Hang on because this fight might get tight
26:47the way that Bibble is performing right now.
26:51It's already tight I would say.
26:53Here in round six, 50 seconds to go.
26:55It could be 3-2 either way.
27:03Canelo content to lay against the ropes
27:05hoping he can counter Bibble.
27:07Bibble looking right at the chest of Canelo.
27:09Last earlier, Todd, if you look at a person's eyes
27:11or chest, Bibble's looking straight up the chest.
27:15And he's looking to set his right hand up.
27:17Came around the guard with a left hook right there.
27:21I love the punch selection by Bibble right now.
27:23Just like Canelo, he's looking for an opening
27:25and land something big as well.
27:27Total focus.
27:29Out bail.
27:31And complimenting Bankers!
27:33Đ±Ń€ĐŸŃi!
27:38Chelsea, Orange, company,
27:43no.
27:44To me stay.
27:45give,
27:46give, give, give, give.
27:47Give, give, give, give.
27:47Give, give, give, give, give, kill!
27:51Give, give, give, give, give.
27:54Give, give, give, give.
27:55Give, give, give, give, give, give, give, give, give
27:57Bebo throwing that jab to the chest, jab to the chest.
28:27But look at the intelligent punching right there, not falling off balance.
28:31Threw a shot, stepped back. Canelo didn't throw anything. Attacked again.
28:36That is why Canelo's having a hard time breaking that distance with the footwork.
28:43Do you see any fatigue right now on Canelo, Dan?
28:47I don't see much fatigue. I see Canelo coming forward, but I do start to see Canelo face.
28:51Starting to take some shots and starting to swell up a little bit and start to see a little bit of red here and there from Bebo staying.
28:57As sharp as he is.
28:59I see the same thing, and I might even throw a little frustration on Canelo's part.
29:04If you look both at their faces, Bebo's the one that looks calm and collected with the poker face.
29:09Canelo's showing a little, a little bit of frustration.
29:12We know Canelo can turn things around in a snap.
29:15The fight against Sergey Kovalev, as we talked about earlier, was very close until Canelo changed everything in a hurry, getting the knockout victory.
29:27Now, this fight is resembling more of a Kayla Plank fight, I believe, because Plank, you know, he was having his moments and a lot of close rounds as well.
29:37Let's take a look at our CompuBox numbers as Bebo throws a few jabs.
29:42Punches landed in the last round.
29:43Bebo, 13 compared to six.
29:45Grab a reds.
29:52There you go, see?
29:54Aiming at that arm.
29:55The left arm of Bebo now.
29:57It's running.
29:58That's exactly the game plan that Canelo had against Callum Smith.
30:00Do you think this strategy would work against Canelo?
30:04Bebo's Google.
30:06Trying to break him down in his arms.
30:07All these different things.
30:08Do you think that would work?
30:09You know what?
30:10We're going to find out, Daniel, because right now he has to be satisfied hitting something.
30:24I like that right hook to the body right there.
30:27Instead of punching straight at the arm, just dig down to the left side of the body of Bebo's.
30:33Let's check in with Chris Vanix, who's in the corner of Bebo.
30:37Joel, how do you think Dimitri's doing out there?
30:39He's doing great.
30:39To me, he's winning the fight.
30:40Canelo's not landing anything clean.
30:43The cleanest shots, Dimitri's been landing him.
30:45Canelo tries to throw, but Dimitri's been landing most of the shots.
30:49And he's the busier guy.
30:51Was this part of the game plan, the entire game plan coming in?
30:53Exactly.
30:54See, he's blocking every part.
30:56Look, he's landing like four punches in a row.
30:59Thanks, Joel.
31:01I think Joel is trying to yell so the judges can hear him.
31:03Look, he's hitting him four times in a row.
31:05See, Canelo's doing nothing.
31:06No, man, I agree with Joel.
31:08This could be 3-3-4-2, but Bebo looks like he's following a game plan a little bit better than Canelo.
31:13That's what I'm talking about with the frustration.
31:15One thing I've noticed, too, is how Bebo is able to take the shots of Canelo.
31:24Even the arm shots.
31:26Even the close shot.
31:26The shots at Grayson.
31:28He's able to almost see as if he's not balling.
31:30And that's because he's been in with big, destructive punchers like Joe Smith and others.
31:38Bruising and redness on the face of Canelo Alvarez.
31:42Bebo looks much better.
31:44At least physically right now.
31:46Canelo smiles back to the corner.
31:48Canelo smiles back to the corner.
32:18How are we going?
32:19How are we feeling?
32:20Good.
32:23If you're really focused, you're doing well.
32:25Show your experience.
32:27Show your experience in there.
32:28Give us some water.
32:33And here's Bebo.
32:34Canelo backing up Bebo to the ropes.
32:36Trying to find an open.
32:38Coming around the guard.
32:38But look, that's what Bebo does so effective.
32:41Catch and counter.
32:42It's real quiet, but he's a technician in there.
32:45Doesn't throw a lot, but he lands at a high rate.
32:48Just a moment ago, both of you said, hey, this could be tied.
32:53Maybe Bebo will go around.
32:54There's some that probably would say, wait a minute.
32:56Bebo's probably winning this 6-1-5-2.
33:00We didn't go that far either, but yeah, it's a close fight.
33:02And now we're going to edge off Bebo.
33:03Let's see what Chris Mannix thinks.
33:05I've got 68-65 in favor of Dimitri Bebo.
33:09That jab is being used flawlessly as a weapon.
33:12Bebo is throwing combinations.
33:14He's landing.
33:15He's having more success landing punches than really anyone I've seen since Gennady Golovkin back in 2017-18.
33:22And he just did so there.
33:23It's the 1-2 combination for Bebo.
33:26And it's been finding its mark most of the night.
33:29Anybody that will tell you how Bebo will win this fight, this is how we'll do it.
33:33With the 1-2s, backing Canelo up, moving in circles, staying off the ropes, Bebo is doing exactly what he used to do to win this fight.
33:40Jess McCaskill, how do you have it?
33:45I think Bebo is really pulling it off here.
33:47The CompuBox numbers say it all.
33:49It's not just that Bebo is giving us great combinations, but he's stopping Canelo from throwing.
33:54So if Canelo doesn't have an output, he's not going to dominate this fight.
33:58Look at that left hook from Bebo, who's now pushing forward like he hasn't done in a while.
34:04And the Russian is pulling Canelo against the ropes, pushing him, punching at him, not giving up,
34:10not stepping back.
34:12Yeah, it seems as if the tie is a switch for me.
34:17How about this?
34:19Bebo has landed double-digit punches in every single round.
34:23Canelo has not landed double-digit punches in any round.
34:40Canelo missed three punches, fell off balance, went back to the ropes.
34:52He wants to make a mistake.
34:55Bebo's not giving him that mistake.
34:57All the while, Bebo is scoring with these counts.
35:00So Canelo needs to come forward and do what he's doing the first half of his fight.
35:09The biggest, biggest moment of Demetri Bebo's career, and he has risen to the occasion this fall.
35:20Let him go! Stop!
35:21Daniel, would you like to see more body work from Canelo?
35:33I just would like to see Canelo throw more punches.
35:36I feel like because he's down right now, that he's fighting in these spurts, he shouldn't do it.
35:41He should continuously, even if it's not hard shots, just let your hands go a little bit more.
35:44Canelo looks frustrated, and he looks a little winded to me.
35:47Canelo, canelo, canelo!
35:51Yes.
35:55Take it in there.
36:02How do you feel?
36:03Good.
36:10Four rounds left.
36:13You do what you need to do.
36:15You need to be intelligent.
36:17You know, don't take so many shots.
36:25Take a deep breath.
36:3212 minutes, that's all it is.
36:34I want you to come out fighting.
36:38Don't leave your hands down.
36:40Get your hands, get your high, get your high guard up there.
36:43Canelo you can see jogging around the rim,
36:45trying to get some life perhaps back in his legs.
36:51Some concern from Eddie Reynoso.
36:53There has been concern in that corner the last three rounds,
36:56and there's a little concern in the eyes of Canelo as well,
36:59jumping off that stool, trying to liven his legs up.
37:02Well, this is a better start for sure.
37:04Has Canelo finally met his match?
37:20The live odds, believe it or not, still have Canelo as the favorite.
37:23Bookmakers think Canelo's going to turn the heat up here
37:26over the last few rounds.
37:30And history proves that it's hard to win a decision against Canelo in Vegas.
37:34Golovkin came up short twice.
37:37A lot of people felt Caleb Plant was having success.
37:39The judges disagree.
37:41Even Floyd Mayweather, he fought him.
37:43One judge had a draw.
37:44Exactly.
37:51Let's check in with Chris Maxx.
37:53You know, Todd, one thing about Canelo,
37:55having watched and scored a lot of his fights lately,
37:58he's often a very easy fighter to score for.
38:01His punches are often clean.
38:02But Dimitri Bebo's defense has been excellent.
38:05He is overwhelming Canelo with the sheer volume of his punches.
38:10This is just an incredibly difficult fight Canelo's in.
38:12He hasn't figured out a way to get to Dimitri Bebo.
38:16But Bebo has found a way to get to Canelo.
38:18And the reason he's finding a way is because it's his footwork.
38:21He doesn't smother himself coming in.
38:23And when Canelo wants to attack, he bounces back,
38:26steps back, still punching.
38:27Now we're starting to look to me that Canelo fit off just a little bit more
38:31than he can chew.
38:36This is the second foray into light heavyweight division for Canelo.
38:39He knocked out Kogolov.
38:41And he may have to do the same to Bebo if things continue.
38:45Bebo is a natural light heavyweight,
38:47so guarding, putting his earmuff defense on
38:50is good enough for him because he's that strong.
38:53The crowd roaring their approval for Alvarez.
38:56.
39:00At this point Canelo's not going to pierce that guard.
39:02Bebo is already accustomed to that power.
39:06.
39:09You can hear Dimitri Bigelow's corner screaming at him, 30 seconds, oh, they want to assure
39:23this victory.
39:25Well, this is a much better round for Canelo.
39:29And that's why the screaming at Bebo don't work.
39:33Nothing's really landed, but Canelo's definitely punching more and punching at the guard of
39:37people, which is what he's going to have to do to win these rounds.
39:40Canelo.
39:44Canelo.
39:45Canelo.
39:46When he starts to fight from you, don't go to him, a blind defender, take your hand, understand?
40:09He hit the gun, hit the gun, and he stopped.
40:15And he started to turn around.
40:17He's throwing a bunch of dimes.
40:19Combination!
40:20You're blowing, you're blowing!
40:21That's your body!
40:22Let's go!
40:23Let's go!
40:24Let's go!
40:25Let's go!
40:26Let's go!
40:27Recover!
40:28Recover!
40:29You're good!
40:30You're a good nation!
40:31Let's go!
40:32Take a deep breath!
40:33Let's go!
40:34You're good!
40:35Let's go!
40:36All I get is back to go!
40:40And apparently the live line has now switched.
40:43And it's Beeble who's the favorite as we enter the home stretch here in Las Vegas.
40:48Let's see if the crowd can rally Canelo here in the 10th.
41:04Three rounds to go.
41:06Beeble having the performance of his life so far.
41:14Good job.
41:16And Sergio Beeble just doesn't even look too bothered, does he?
41:19He's just calm.
41:20He's calm and relaxed, and that's the reason he's having so much success.
41:24And then goes back to that power jab.
41:26He gets his work set working, pulls out with his footwork, pops him with that jab.
41:30We asked Beeble during the fighter meetings, do you think you can win a decision in Las Vegas?
41:35He said, you know what?
41:36If I feel like I won, that'll be good enough for me.
41:39I don't worry about the judges.
41:41Not sure he would feel that way right now, but we shall see.
41:45And look at the punches through round nine.
41:47My word, 110 to 61.
41:49Chris, are you surprised by what you're seeing?
41:59I'm very surprised.
42:00Dimitri Beeble, start to finish, has had a really effective game plan.
42:05And Canelo Alvarez, one of the smarter fighters in all of boxing, who often has a plan B, a plan C when coming into fights,
42:13has not figured out how to get to Dimitri Beeble.
42:16And Dimitri Beeble practically looks like the fresher fighter as we're halfway through the 10th round.
42:21Well, Canelo told us how much respect he had for Beeble, told us how good he thought Beeble is.
42:29And Canelo was right.
42:31And Todd, this looks in many ways like the first Golovkin fight, where Canelo's fighting off the ropes, off his back foot a lot.
42:38He managed to come away with a disputed draw in that fight, but Beeble, he looks like he's winning it.
42:43Counter right hand snaps the jaw.
42:46It doesn't look like he's winning it. He's winning this fight.
42:52Daniel, what should Canelo be doing differently?
42:54I feel like Canelo should be taking it a little bit more seriously.
42:57It's good to slip punches, it's good to look good defensively, but when you're down, and I feel like he knows it's a large possibility he may be down.
43:06He got to do something better. He got to step it up.
43:08I think this is a fight where Canelo's heavy feet, I mean, it benefits him to keep his feet planted because he's so explosive.
43:15But when you're dealing with a technician with good footwork like Beeble, you're going to have to step up your footwork.
43:23Well, Canelo is chasing greatness by being in this division, and he's going to have to be great the rest of the way to win this.
43:30Does Canelo have more magic in him?
43:50The pound-for-pound king.
44:06Canelo trying to get inside and work.
44:09Let's check in with Jessica McCaskill.
44:11We are seeing some major fatigue here from Canelo.
44:14We see his arms up in the corner between rounds.
44:17That usually shows that the fighter is fatigued.
44:19I don't know if it's the vegan diet.
44:20I don't know if it's the pressure that Bebo is putting on
44:23and him obviously coming up in weight class.
44:26But Bebo looks very unbothered.
44:27He's even getting closer to Canelo here,
44:30letting himself be in Canelo's range,
44:32maybe because he's seeing less of power from Canelo.
44:36A right-hand score is for Bebo.
44:42Let's check in with Chris Maddox at scorecard.
44:44Now I've got Dimitri Bebo in complete control
44:48of this fight at the moment, 97-93.
44:50On my scorecard, Canelo Alvarez will either need
44:52a couple of knockdowns or a knockout to win this fight.
44:58Mannix, how does the judges panel look here tonight?
45:01Are you confident they'll get it right?
45:03I'll say this.
45:03It's one of the best judging panels you can ask for.
45:07Tim Cheatham, Dave Moretti, Steve Weissko,
45:09who I consider the gold standard
45:11when it comes to boxing judges.
45:13These are the best,
45:14some of the best of the best in all of boxing.
45:20Only one man has beaten Canelo Alvarez.
45:22That's a great Floyd Mayweather Jr.
45:25He did it by fighting Canelo on his terms.
45:29That's what Bebo is doing right now.
45:31He fights him when he wants,
45:32but he boxes more often.
45:34Stepping back and still staying in control,
45:37not giving up control.
45:40Yeah, he's frustrated.
45:42With acts like this, Canelo is definitely frustrated.
45:46He's been frustrated.
45:48Let's go.
45:49Let's go.
45:50Let's go.
45:52Everyone thinks that it takes brute strength
45:55to be the brute puncher,
45:57but it takes finesse and a game plan
45:59and technique and a strategy and discipline,
46:03which is what Bebo has been doing this entire fight.
46:06Can you imagine if Bebo can knock out Alvarez?
46:10It appears he might be going for it.
46:12He's going for it,
46:13but I don't think he's landing anything big.
46:15He's just pushing back and bullying the bully.
46:18Let's go.
46:23I've never seen Canelo with this type of body language.
46:27Bebo is doing what he always does.
46:29He fights within himself.
46:31He doesn't get out of character.
46:32There's a right hand that splits the guard for Canelo.
46:36How do you feel, SaĂșl?
47:01How do you feel, SaĂșl?
47:02Hey.
47:03That's the last round, man.
47:04That's the last round, man.
47:06Final round.
47:08Final round.
47:09Last round.
47:10Last round.
47:15That's the last round.
47:16That's the best of you here.
47:19Okay, the things are good.
47:21Two shots.
47:22Two shots.
47:22Two shots.
47:22So here's Bebo chasing down Canelo,
47:27who got underneath and went on a little bit of a ride.
47:31That could have been really bad.
47:35So Daniel, if you're Dimitri Bebo here in the 12th round,
47:39how do you approach it?
47:41You close the show.
47:42You are a champion faking another champion,
47:46but a lot of not coming up.
47:47You clearly dominated the whole fight.
47:49You need to close the show in dramatic fashion.
47:51Can Bebo write his name in the books?
47:58Daniel, I think he's in control right now.
48:01He should just stay behind that beautiful jab,
48:04not take any more chances.
48:05He did exactly what he needed to do to be in his position
48:08in this last and final round.
48:10But if history repeats itself,
48:12he must know it's better to close the show
48:14than to have some foolery done at the end of the fight.
48:19And that's the way we're seeing the fight,
48:21but who knows what the judges are seeing.
48:25I think it's safe to say, though,
48:26that Canelo has to win the 12th round.
48:32Bruising body attack here from Canelo.
48:34But it's being blocked.
48:35Bebo is accustomed to that power,
48:37and he's strong.
48:38He's a natural light heavyweight.
48:40Those punches are not having any effect on Bebo.
48:43Very true.
48:47Was Bebo just too big and just too strong for Canelo Alvarez,
48:53who's trying to unify another division?
48:56Too big, too strong, and most importantly, too smart.
48:59Yes, sir, Joe, when it gets to a point
49:05when Bebo's hitting him just at will,
49:09and he's a bigger guy.
49:10It's almost very nerve-wracking for Canelo.
49:12Last round, but, you know,
49:14I thought Canelo could have,
49:16one of those shots could have went down.
49:17Very strong chin for Canelo.
49:19Canelo has fought 18 different world champions.
49:23Only Floyd Mayweather has beaten him.
49:25And Bebo has only faced two world champions,
49:28and he's in a position to beat the champion of the world.
49:45A minute to go.
49:49Right hand for Canelo.
49:59Jabs from Bebo.
50:09Canelo is known to take on big challenges,
50:11fighting the best.
50:13He might have bit off too much,
50:14then he could chew here tonight.
50:15I've never seen Canelo this fatigue in a fight before.
50:23Uppercut block this time.
50:25Did we underestimate Dimitri Bebo?
50:37Canelo Alvarez was a big favorite
50:40in the biggest fight of the year,
50:42but Bebo showed up and showed out,
50:46and May have just beaten the pad for Kamauke.
50:50Ladies and gentlemen,
50:52after 12 rounds of action here in Las Vegas,
50:56we go to the judges' scorecards.
50:59Tim Tiena, Dave Moretti,
51:02and Steve Weisfeld
51:04all scored this bout identically,
51:07115 to 113.
51:10for your winner by unanimous decision.
51:16He's still undefeated,
51:18and still the WWE Champion of the World,
51:24Dimitri Bebo!
51:27He has done it!
51:30Not many believed in him!
51:32He believed in himself!
51:34Pulled off the performance of the lifetime,
51:37and beat a man that will go down
51:40as one of the greatest fighters ever, Daniel.
51:42How did he do it?
51:44He stuck to the game plan.
51:46He used his best attributes,
51:48which was his speed,
51:49his power,
51:50his movements,
51:51and his discipline,
51:52most and foremost.
51:53I feel like he did so well tonight,
51:55that he surpassed so many people's expectations.
51:58He should be proud of his performance,
52:00and also Canelo should be proud of himself as well.
52:03Both, both jobs, great guys.
52:05Dimitri Bebo
52:06kept it with quiet confidence this entire time.
52:10He's told you that he doesn't need a knockout to win.
52:13He hasn't knocked out his last six opponents.
52:15He didn't knock out Canelo tonight,
52:17but he got the biggest win of his career
52:18by playing power chess,
52:20being strategic,
52:21being disciplined,
52:23and following all the way to the finish line.
52:25Thank you very much.
52:37Thank you very much.
