00:00In other news, Universal Lifeline Access for Emergency Assistance, or 911,
00:04is in the midst of a transition and makeover from a localized setup to a unified system.
00:09And the PNP has tapped its choice technical provider for the system integration
00:14to the tune of 1.4 billion pesos.
00:17Araya Macigas tells us more to include the set deadline of the first of next month
00:22when the new system officially kicks in.
00:24The Department of the Interior and Local Government, or DILG,
00:29will implement the new system for the 911 emergency hotline starting August.
00:34According to DILG Secretary John Vick Rimulia,
00:36this is aimed at making it easier for authorities to comply with the five-minute response time.
00:41All 911 calls in the country will be unified under a single system.
00:46Currently, over 30 local government units still have their own hotlines.
00:50Integrated na yan sa New Pilipinas.
00:52Integrated na siya.
00:54Kasi ngayon, 34 ang LGU na yung sariling 911.
00:59Tapos ngayon yung sarili ang krami.
01:01So wala tayong unified system.
01:03Magkagawin natin yung magkakaroon tayo ng unified system para sa buong Pilipinas.
01:06The PNP has already secured a technology provider
01:08for the planned integration, costing 1.4 billion pesos.
01:12Sa bago sistema natin, I think the PNP will have a better response time
01:16and better quality of response.
01:18Ito kasi na-procure to 2010 payatan.
01:242010 payatan.
01:25So it's four generations old.
01:28So we're getting the latest generation in the world.
01:32Pukukunin ng Pilipinas ngayon.
01:33And we hope to install fully integrated into the Philippines by within one year.
01:40Rimulya said the new system's state-of-the-art and the 911 hotline will also be language sensitive.
02:01Kasi yung, they use radios now which are efficient.
02:05Prank callers won't be able to get away either.
02:07With the new system, the PNP will be able to identify where the calls is coming from.
02:12Rimulya warned that anyone who attempts to deceive will face fines and imprisonment.
02:17May geo-fence ka na, may geo-locator kasi lahat ng tatawag.
02:22So kung tumawag ka at prank call ka, within five minutes mauhuli ka rin.
02:25Ryan Lisigues from the National TV Network for a new and better Philippines, Kang Krame.
