00:00I think the event is great. I think it's really needed in Slovenia in
00:14general and particularly for local communities because I feel and that's my
00:19really strong impression that we are underdeveloped in the digital realm on
00:24some areas and the public services and public administration or local levels
00:29must do really some intensive activities to gain proficiency, competencies and
00:37digital transformation etc etc so such events are really really important to
00:44gain I would say understanding how important the digital component is in
00:51all of our projects at the local communities really.
00:56We believe that for Slovenia it's really important to continue on this path of
01:01digital transformation and we notice that of course in the case of digital
01:06competencies is something that we lack a little bit and we have to advance there
01:11more so we are pushing forward more programs in this sense and of course all
01:18supporting the usage of digital advanced technologies it's really important but
01:25of course without skills, probably skills, it won't be able to do it. So I think it's
01:30really important for us and as a government as a state representatives to
01:36merge all the knowledge also from the local communities and make this effort
01:43effective and bring all the advanced technologies forward which will help citizens live in this
01:53modern world of course protect it of course we have to deal also with the ethical issues of
01:59the technologies and everything but I think that we have to be brave, adopt technologies and use it
02:06for our benefit as a society as a whole.
02:11Well this event is definitely a hell of an interesting experience I mean it's in Slovenia
02:16one of the first ones as far as I know so welcome to the country with love in its name
02:21but it's good to have these different kind of experience of other stakeholders not only Slovenian one but also other ones within the European Union and European Commission.
02:30be together with the people that are alike also on the same page regarding the digital transformation
02:35of course a lot of people are still not here yet so they don't think that this is important
02:41but it's always good to be as far as me or my team is concerned it's good to be in avant-garde this is the same
02:47what our mayor also explaining us you know higher better in the Olympics it's also the same for the business world as well as for the public sector and getting to know you some great Slovenian
02:59experiences and I would say the projects that are already up and running is good to see because we somehow come across by the internet or on YouTube but seeing this in person when you have people that you can also do some asking the questions and the scenes behind not only the lifestyle but also the hindrances is something that opens your eye and definitely shortens the implementation of the projects that you will or you already do
03:28in your cities your communities at the end of the day for the whole European Union it's good to be a part of it because as we say in the mission the city of Kran together with other 100 cities there are 75 million of us together.
03:41Well Orlimas it's an interesting experience definitely not a roller coaster so no need to be really scared about it despite the fact that we are the first city in Slovenia that we made it so it's a bit of a challenge whether we are going to you know qualify for the Olympics but that's not the case.
03:58It's good to know where we are where we are still lacking some of the things and we have it now which is just a great timing also because we are upgrading or face lifting our digital strategy for the city of Kran that is going to be available till 2030.
04:14which is namely the same time span as the EU mission of 100 cities that need to be carbon neutral and digitally saving by 2030 and hopefully and not only hopefully but we definitely believe that these gaps that we still have are going to be one way or another filled in and we believe that we will make it in 2030.
