D.L. Hughley says President Trump's attempt to downplay the Jeffrey Epstein controversy seems to implicate Trump ... and he's calling for the Epstein files to be released so folks can see who was hanging out with the pedophile.

00:00Even the stuff that we know did happen, or was unless that happened, it's disturbing.

00:06His affinity and his relationship with a known pedophile is troublesome. The fact

00:13that a 14-year-old girl accused him and Epstein of doing something inappropriate with her. So

00:19even the stuff we know, the stuff that he's openly said, the stuff that's on the record,

00:23should have been disqualifying to me. But deal, I gotta tell you, and again,

00:27no dog in the fight. I've talked to, there are two people in particular who are not even

00:33associated, and they have had access to this. And they say that, yeah, his name, Trump's name is

00:42mentioned, but there is nothing untoward with respect to Trump. So I'm trying to figure out

00:48what's the motivation here? Michael Wolf says that he's seen the pictures with Trump in them.

00:51Michael Wolf says that, right? So you have all these people on the periphery.

00:57But the truth of the matter is, does this seem like the kind of thing he wouldn't do?

01:00Even the things he said have been disturbing. His life for young girls, he said these things.

01:06So let's be clear, does Donald Trump seem like the kind of man who wouldn't do it?

01:11And anybody who's being honest would say that that's not true.

01:16But one of the people I can tell you is not a Trump supporter, and I'm getting this consistently.

01:22Yeah, his name's mentioned, but so are a million others. And it's mentioned a few times,

01:26but there's nothing untoward. The standard needs to be clear. Even being in proximity to somebody

01:32who's that troublesome, it, to me, is worth looking into. Somebody that troublesome, that,

01:38you know, that they went that close to proximity, they hung out each other,

01:42they clearly liked each other. Do you think that honestly, in your heart of hearts,

01:46he isn't the kind of man that would do it? And the other thing that's particularly disturbing

01:49is how much Republicans have talked about wanting to protect kids. The list should be outed just to

01:55show that he didn't have anything to do with it. And then nobody else had anything to do with it.

01:59Y'all bought this list up. It was, it was them that used this as a cudgel. It was them that used

02:03this as an issue. And now all of a sudden they're voting against people seeing it. If your ass was

02:08hanging around and you, and you notice consistently what I said about puppy, if your ass was hanging

02:13around a pederast and a pedophile, we need to know, period. Either you hang around with pedophiles or you

02:18don't. And I think if you do, you should be disqualified from any public office. That's

02:23just me. You should, you should. But now if they thought it would hurt their political enemies,

02:29it would be no problem. Stop putting it on Bondi. If she wanted to, if he wanted her to release it,

02:33she'd do it.
