Hartlepool takeaway drivers stage strike over pay

Couriers in dispute with app companies including Just Eat, Deliveroo and Uber Eats

00:00So can you tell me why the drivers are striking today?

00:03The drivers are striking because of the low pay.

00:06It's not fair pay. Every mile that used to be counted,

00:09and we don't know how they're actually counting per mile.

00:12Every time it drops it.

00:15One person got a different price, the other person got a different price.

00:18So we don't know what prices they're actually giving us.

00:21So we want to know what actually just the delivery Uber are doing.

00:26We want them to understand that we are united.

00:29We are all drivers that are together.

00:31We want us, all of us want to know what sort of prices they're paying us,

00:36and in one fair way.

00:38We're not even earning national living wage at the moment.

00:43So we hope after doing the strike they would understand that,

00:48yes, there is a problem going on somewhere,

00:51and they would give us some answers.
