00:00Hello there my dear friends, and welcome back to another very exciting Star Wars video.

00:04Today, we have an enormous reveal from the Legacy of Vader Kylo Ren comics.

00:09I've been covering every single issue, and it's been quite the ride.

00:13I'm not usually a fan of the newer Star Wars comics, but this run has been very different.

00:17It follows the events of Kylo Ren in between episodes 8 and 9, after he kills Snoke,

00:22and now he's Supreme Leader of the First Order.

00:25He's a very strange and whiny leader, often exhibiting insecurity, and he's very much a petulant child.

00:31So as the title of the comic run suggests, Kylo has been tracing Darth Vader's footsteps,

00:36trying to emulate his grandfather, and learning about his life.

00:40He saw his redemption as failure, and is trying to become a more evil, powerful Vader.

00:45One who is not tempted back to the light.

00:47But as we know from The Rise of Skywalker, that doesn't last very long.

00:51Ben is already conflicted.

00:52So in the most recent issues, accompanied by Varney, one of Vader's former loyalists,

00:57Kylo goes to Tatooine, and then Naboo, learning all about Anakin, as well as his grandmother Padme.

01:03And check out my previous video on the subject for more information.

01:06But now my friends, Kylo Ren learns about Order 66, and he's told it's one of the most brutal things Vader ever did.

01:13But when Kylo learns there are still survivors out there,

01:15Varney promises the Supreme Leader he's gonna help him track them down.

01:19And in the most recent issue, issue number 6, it finally happens.

01:23And the survivor, who is believed to be one of the last Jedi, has a surprising connection to the Obi-Wan Kenobi show.

01:30Now it must be said, that while the comic labels this person as the last surviving Jedi of Order 66,

01:35she almost definitely isn't.

01:37Because we don't know the fates of Grogu, Balen's skull, even Ahsoka.

01:40And there are comics like Hyperspace Stories which confirm there were other survivors still operating after The Force Awakens.

01:47Two of them even became bounty hunters.

01:49But this is the first one Kylo Ren confronts.

01:51And when you really think about it, it reframes what Kylo Ren says to Luke in The Last Jedi.

01:57It contributes to Kylo's mental chaos.

01:59Because it proves he doesn't really have control of the galaxy.

02:02He has no idea how many Jedi really survived.

02:05And this comic shed some light on this.

02:07The self-appointed Supreme Leader of the First Order thought it was going to be easy.

02:11In his arrogance, he thought he could turn Rey to the dark side.

02:15He genuinely believed his uncle Luke was the last remnant of the Jedi of old.

02:19Every word of what you just said was wrong.

02:23But there were many more Jedi out there.

02:25Many who predated Luke and were remnants of the Republic of old.

02:28Ones who got very lucky to avoid Darth Vader and his Inquisitors.

02:32Ones who survived to see the fall of the Empire and the rise and refall of the New Republic.

02:37And Kylo didn't even kill Luke.

02:39Luke was buying the Resistance time from halfway across the galaxy.

02:43But their exchange still echoed in Kylo's head.

02:46Now that Luke was gone, he was determined to be the new Vader.

02:50He wanted to form a new legacy.

02:52And so, the comic begins.

02:55General Hux, who at this stage has already abandoned the First Order and is a spy for the Resistance,

02:59is still playing along as Kylo's second-in-command.

03:02And he's ensured the Supreme Leader has a new throne, built to specification.

03:06Kylo Ren flaunts it, and as a show of power,

03:09he has First Order officers and Stormtroopers pledge allegiance to him.

03:13Kylo Ren loves the attention, and he says,

03:16I know all of this makes you feel small, Hux.

03:18It's just, not your role to feel large.

03:20Seething, and secretly plotting his demise,

03:24Hux replies,

03:25Of course, Supreme Leader.

03:28Kylo then demands to see him in his chambers,

03:30but after their conversation,

03:31Varney contacts Kylo from the mid-rim.

03:34Yes, Varney, what is it?

03:35I have done as you promised, my prince.

03:38I have found you a Jedi.

03:40On the snowy mid-rim world of L'Artee,

03:43Kylo Ren lands his shuttle.

03:45He meets up with Varney,

03:46and Kylo asks him,

03:47Is there really a Jedi here?

03:49I thought Darth Vader killed them.

03:55Almost, my prince.

03:57But the Jedi are like roach rats.

03:59You may think you killed all of them,

04:01and then another scurries away the moment you turn the light on.

04:04Which is not to say that Lord Vader did not try his best.

04:07From the moment Palpatine's master stroke rang out through the galaxy,

04:10Darth Vader took to his task.

04:13No Jedi was safe.

04:14That remained true for years,

04:16after the initial extermination.

04:18Vader tracked down every rumor of a Jedi in hiding.

04:21He found most of them,

04:22and killed them.

04:24But eventually, my prince,

04:25even the ghosts of rumor stopped,

04:27and Vader's role under Palpatine evolved.

04:30The Jedi were gone,

04:31but the rebellion they inspired still needed strangling.

04:34Kylo is confused.

04:35So if the Jedi are dead,

04:37what are we doing here?

04:38It turns out Varney still had access to the Empire's old reports.

04:41He found the purge file of an Imperial agent,

04:44and tracked down one Jedi to this location.

04:47He sent out First Order spies,

04:49and the rumors were true.

04:50They tracked the Jedi down.

04:52This might have been the same file Grogu was in,

04:54because think back to Mando Season 1.

04:56The mysterious client knew a lot about Grogu,

04:59his age,

05:00his unknown species,

05:01and his midichlorian count.

05:03And Ahsoka Season 1 alluded to Thrawn knowing about them.

05:06He had a file on Anakin and Ahsoka.

05:10Varney then continues,

05:11the name of the Jedi is unknown,

05:13but maybe you will discover it.

05:15I've sent my own agents,

05:17and they've confirmed the details in the report are true.

05:19The Jedi remains alive.

05:21From this point, my prince,

05:23you will travel alone.

05:24Now Varney is secretly scared,

05:26but he has to pretend

05:27he's doing it for the benefit of Kylo.

05:30He plays with Kylo's mind,

05:31and convinces Kylo if he wants to be like Vader,

05:34he has to confront the Jedi one-on-one.

05:36Which of course Kylo agrees to.

05:38He enters a local bar,

05:39and I'm starting to recognize some of these outfits.

05:42Hold on to that thought for just a moment.

05:44It's a pretty standard cantina.

05:46The bartender's having some banter with clients,

05:48telling one of them who's had a bit too much that he should stop,

05:51and then Kylo enters,

05:52and he stands out like a sore thumb.

05:54What will it be, stranger?

05:56Kylo tries to blend in and says,

05:58Wine.

05:59I'll drink wine.

06:00And even with small talk,

06:01Kylo is so darn awkward.

06:03Well, wine it is.

06:04This is pressed from some local stew grapes.

06:07It'll keep you warm for the night,

06:08that's for sure.

06:09Kylo then cuts right to it.

06:11I have a question.

06:12Is there anyone in this town who is unusual?

06:15The bartender then cracks a joke,

06:17other than yourself.

06:18And that's when angsty teenager Kylo comes out,

06:21and he mind tricks him,

06:22demanding he tells him the information about the Jedi.

06:25The bartender doesn't seem to know,

06:27but while the Supreme Leader is distracted,

06:29a mysterious patron uses the force,

06:32to grab his lightsaber from across the room.

06:34It's an old lady,

06:35a felon named Grandia.

06:37She is the survivor of Order 66.

06:40She ignites Kylo's saber,

06:42noticing it's red,

06:43and she says,

06:44It looks like you've got yourself a cracked kyber crystal here.

06:47You ought to get it looked at.

06:49But for now, young man,

06:50let's chat.

06:52Disarmed,

06:53Kylo is gonna have to face this former Jedi alone.

06:56That is where the comic ends,

06:57and the confrontation continues in August.

06:59I have so many questions.

07:01Who is she?

07:02How did she survive unnoticed all these years?

07:05And what's gonna happen to her?

07:06The preview for the next issue says,

07:08that we're going to see Clone Wars flashbacks,

07:10so we're about to see how she survived Order 66.

07:13I have a very strong suspicion she's gonna die,

07:16but I wonder how she'll react if she finds out that Kylo was Vader's grandson.

07:20She would have remembered Anakin,

07:22So, remember how I said there's a connection to the Kenobi show?

07:25Well, I noticed something about this Jedi's outfit,

07:27and the outfits of everyone on this cold planet.

07:30They're all wearing the same kind of coat,

07:32and they all look very similar to one specific Jedi,

07:35from the Jedi tomb on Fortress Inquisitorius.

07:38Do you think this Jedi was also from the same planet,

07:40and maybe this woman is someone he knew?

07:42Very interesting stuff.
