00:01Full scorching conditions, but an impressive 3-1 win against Eastbourne,

00:05continuing the good start to pre-season.

00:07Happy with that?

00:08Yeah, real happy.

00:09I thought they would be better than what they was or cause us problems.

00:14I thought it would be the other way round in terms of where we both teams are,

00:19them being full-time.

00:20But yeah, really impressive from us today from start to finish,

00:23limited them to maybe two chances in the whole game.

00:26And yeah, good day for us.

00:28Yeah, I mean, obviously they're sort of a league higher, aren't they?

00:30But you were sort of really on the front foot and dominated most of that match today, really,

00:33so you kept them to the goal and one other chance, really.

00:35Yeah, just as one of them, you know, our formation just caused them problems

00:40and they couldn't pick it up all game.

00:43You know, they tried tweaking things and putting players in,

00:45but we found other ways out.

00:47And yeah, I can't fault the boys today.

00:49And you were sort of really quick out of the traps in that sort of first 20 minutes,

00:52a number of chances.

00:53I mean, even in the first minute, Sam had a chance

00:55and you sort of kept plugging away until you got the goal.

00:57Was that a real sort of key thing to get out of them early on?

01:01Yeah, you know, we set our stall out.

01:03You know, it's the way we want to play.

01:05You know, we've not changed that.

01:06And, you know, don't matter who we play, that's how we continue to play.

01:09But yeah, I thought we'd come out of the blocks really well.

01:12I think they were lucky to go in just a one down at half time.

01:15It could have been three or four.

01:16But yeah, that's the only gripe I had with them.

01:19Maybe a little bit on the finishing and a little bit just touching up on restarts.

01:24But barring that, yeah, did they?

01:26Yeah, plenty of chances just, I guess, be a bit more clinical.

01:28But obviously it's early in pre-season, isn't it?

01:30And sort of people will sort of get sharper.

01:32Yeah, that day would come.

01:33You know, we'd have to pitch a little bit longer to protect it.

01:35It's the first one in pre-season.

01:37So the ball's a little bit sticky under feet to get it out and shoot.

01:40But yeah, they would come.

01:42You know, we've seen goals already in pre-season.

01:45Has Sam got the opener?

01:46So I see two weeks in a row he's scored.

01:48Obviously an encouraging start to him for pre-season.

01:51Yeah, we only saw a little bit of him towards the end of last season when we signed him.

01:55Because he had the unfortunate broken hand.

01:57But you can see all this play.

01:59He's got every attribute to be a top striker and really kick on through the leagues.

02:02And, you know, he's got to set his sights on being a professional.

02:05And half-time, 1-0 up.

02:08So the dominant performance just wanted more of the same in the second half with you?

02:11Or tweaked anything?

02:12Yeah, a little bit.

02:13You know, we knew it was going to be difficult in these conditions.

02:15You know, they were making nine subs at half-time.

02:17We could only do the four with availability.

02:20So we knew it was going to be tough.

02:22But yeah, really proud of what they produced in the second half.

02:24Again, there's one I think we were a better side with better chances.

02:29And yeah, you know, going back, it's been a good day.

02:32Yeah, I mean, you equalised the top, it came out of nowhere really.

02:34It didn't look like coming, did it?

02:35But it didn't knock you at all.

02:36You were straight back on the front foot.

02:37And obviously got back in front with, you know, Daz picking out the top corner.

02:41Bit of wizardry like he can produce with that free kick, wasn't it?

02:44Yeah, it was a great free kick.

02:45You know, I think he could have gone either way really.

02:48And yeah, he picked the top corner out.

02:51The keeper had no chance.

02:52And like you say, the chance come out of nothing.

02:54But you know, those teams, full-time sides, you know, they punish you if you make a little mistake.

02:59And yeah, Steps had a little slip and yeah, we got punished.

03:01And then obviously getting the third one late on.

03:03So, you know, that sort of high press, Lyd winning the ball high up.

03:06And then obviously Kai unselfishly squares it for Ogo.

03:09He obviously got his hat-trick last week and another one today for him to wrap it up.

03:12Yeah, the boys up there, you know, they're giving me a real big headache at the minute.

03:16They're all producing these, you know, we know what Lyd's is about.

03:19And that was typical Lyd's, you know, chase something that he had no right to get hold of.

03:23And yeah, we punished it.

03:25And yeah, obviously a hot day.

03:27So a bit of recovery sort of for the lads.

03:29You obviously just managed that side of it.

03:31Yeah, you know, I'm sure they'll have a couple of drinks later on in the night.

03:34But yeah, now it's like the hydration, getting the hydration levels back up.

03:37And, you know, we go again Tuesday and we up the intensity.

03:41And we go again Thursday.

03:42And we just keep kicking on and, you know, building another machine, hopefully.

03:46Yeah, and it's at Dulwich on Saturday.

03:48But obviously a good couple of training days before that.

03:50And then sort of build up to Dulwich and another test there on Saturday.

03:53Yeah, it'll be a different test.

03:54You know, getting physical quickside.

03:56But yeah, we hope to have a couple back.

03:58And yeah, we look forward to that one and getting more minutes in the legs.
