03:10Here, between the lions!
03:17Why the baboons balloon went kaboom!
03:21Nice one! Kick it here! I got something really cool to show you!
03:26Oh, nice one! Oh, yeah! Oh, that was beautiful! Watch this!
03:30Oh, yeah! Ted, you can't use your hands in soccer!
03:35Son, I...
03:36Ah, Ted!
03:39Leona! Lionel! You know that playing soccer in the library is taboo!
03:45W-What's taboo?
03:47Playing soccer in the library!
03:50Oh, no, no! I mean, what does it mean?
03:53It means it's not allowed!
03:55Oh, but we won't hurt anything! There's plenty of room!
03:59You might think you won't do any harm, son, but you never know what might happen!
04:04What? What?
04:06He's getting that look in his eye again. If we don't go soon, we'll be here all afternoon getting a lecture!
04:15Oh, no!
04:17You're right, Dad. We're sorry. We'll just scoot outside!
04:21You know, this reminds me of a story! Look, I want you both to hear it. I think I saw it in a stack somewhere.
04:25Let's see here, uh...
04:28Ah! There it is! Come along! Here we go!
04:37Oh!
04:39The pen fell on the floor!
04:44Ha! But I guess you already read that!
04:47Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! I'll just pick it up!
04:51Whoa!
04:53Oh!
04:57Alrighty! Now, this story is called,
05:00Because a Little Bug Went Kachoo!
05:03By Rosetta Stone!
05:05Illustrated by Michael, uh, Frith!
05:07You may not believe it, but here's how it happened. One fine summer morning, a little bug sneezed.
05:21Gotcha!
05:23Because of that sneeze, a little seed dropped.
05:26Because that seed dropped, a worm got hit.
05:33Ow!
05:35Because he got hit, that worm got mad.
05:41Because he got mad, he kicked a tree.
05:47Because of that kick, a coconut dropped.
05:51Because that nut dropped, a turtle got bopped.
05:57Because he got bopped, that turtle named Jake fell on his back.
06:03With a splash in the lake.
06:06Because of that splash, a hen got wet.
06:10Because she got wet, that hen got mad.
06:15Because she got mad, that hen kicked a bucket.
06:21Because of that kick, the bucket went up.
06:24Because it went up, the bucket came down.
06:32Because it came down, it hit Farmer Brown.
06:36And the bucket got stuck on his head.
06:39Because it got stuck, Farmer Brown phoned for help.
06:52Because of this phone call, policemen came speeding.
06:55Because they were speeding, they hit a big stone.
06:59And so one policeman flew up all alone.
07:04Because he flew up, he had to come down.
07:05And because he came down on the boat Mary Lou, and because he hit hard, he went right on through.
07:22He made a big hole in the boat Mary Lou.
07:28Who bothered?
07:30Because of that hole, the boat started to sink.
07:34And because it was sinking, well, what do you think?
07:38Everyone, everyone started to yelp.
07:40And Mrs. Brown called on the phone for more help.
07:51Because of her phone call, more help came fast.
07:55They tied a strong rope to the very loose mast.
08:00And because of that rope, the boat didn't go down.
08:06But it had to be fixed, so they started for town.
08:12And because of that rope, the boat didn't go down.
08:15And because they went there, it's true I'm afraid, they ran right into a circus parade.
08:34And that started something they'll never know yet.
08:38And as far as I know, it is going on yet.
08:45And that's how it happened. Believe me, it's true.
08:57Because, just because, a small bug went kachoo.
09:06That was a really good story, Deb.
09:09This story is a good example of how there's more to reading than just reading.
09:12Reading gives you something to think about, too.
09:16Now, what do you think the message of this story was?
09:20Hmm? Hmm?
09:22Leona, honey, please pay attention to daddy.
09:25Isn't that just one little thing that you thought something else you'd never expect?
09:30And there you might find that you could think of it.
09:33And now, a baboon in a maroon balloon, reading from the earth to the moon, shouting, Wahoo!
09:39Wahoo!
09:40Wahoo!
09:41Wahoo!
09:44I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation for this.
09:48But what is it?
09:49Ka-choo!
09:50Ooh!
09:51No, actually, it's my real hair.
09:52Oh!
09:53Get it to the groove as Bert the Reader and the vowels croon the double O, ooh sound in the word boot!
10:06Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
10:36Oot. R. Root.

10:42B. Roo.
10:46And now it's time for...
10:49Gawain's Word! Gawain's Word!
10:52Excellent! Gawain here once again at Blending Fields,
10:57where two brave knights in armor will charge together at high speed and make a word.
11:02Competing today we have Sir...
11:05Bruh. Bruh.
11:07And Sir Oom.
11:09Oom.

11:30And this is Gawain saying, see you soon.
11:33See you next time on...
11:36Gawain's Word! Gawain's Word!
11:38In a dirty and dusty old room, lived an unhappy bride and her groom.
11:52So the last Buddha be where the G used to be, and she swept the plates clean with a broom.
12:00Zzz.
12:04Ooh.
12:05Mm.
12:06Zzz.
12:07Ooh.
12:08Mm.
12:09Zzz.
12:10Zoom.
12:12Flying off the shelf once again, it's the continuing, daring and dangling adventures of Cliffhanger!
12:21Today's Adventure Number 17, Cliffhanger and the Balloons.
12:26Cliffhanger hanging from a cliff!
12:31And that's why he's called Cliffhanger!
12:34Excuse me! Excuse me!
12:38We find Cliffhanger where we left him last, hanging from a cliff!
12:43Can't hold on much longer!
12:49All of a sudden, a bunch of balloons floats by.
12:54Balloons?
12:56Ah! Balloons!
12:59Poor marooned Cliff roots around in his backpack and soon locates his nasty survival manual.
13:06Using his expert decoding skills, Cliff begins to read.
13:12Hmm.
13:13Baboons?
13:14Ah!
13:15Here we are!
13:16Balloons!
13:17When you see a bunch of balloons, grab them!
13:23You will soon escape!
13:26Hooray!
13:27Has Cliffhanger made his escape at last?
13:29Toodle-oo!
13:30Ho!
13:31Ho!
13:32Ho!
13:33Ho!
13:34Shoo!
13:35Shoo!
13:36Shoo!
13:37Shoo!
13:38Shoo!
13:39Shoo!
13:40Oops!
13:41And that's why he's called Cliffhanger!
13:51Can't hold on much longer!
13:56So you see how things could happen whether you intend them to or not!
14:03Because one thing causes another thing, which causes another thing!
14:10Which is why...
14:11Please, Leona, I'm almost finished!
14:14Which is why you shouldn't play soccer in the library!
14:17the library. What was that?
14:27Leo! What are you doing?
14:38Kaz! Did this happen because the Cubs
14:44played soccer in the library? I didn't do anything.
14:47Actually, it was you, Theo, dear.
14:50Me?
14:55Did I cause that music too?
14:57What music?
15:01Swami, smarmy, marmy, that's a swammy's name.
15:05And reading what the future writes is swammy, marmy's game.

15:16Oh, what do you see in the future?
15:18Oh, great and wise and sassy swammy, marmy.
15:23Oops!
15:26Oops.
15:27Yes.
15:32With an exclamation point.
15:35That is what the future has written.
15:39So, be on the lookout for oops.
15:45With an exclamation point.
15:47Yeah, yeah, I will.
15:49Be on the...
15:50Do it again.
15:51Oh, oh!

20:28...cool and groovy Marmy, the remarkable Smarmy Marmy Smar-tini!
20:39Thank you, my sonny boy, Great Smar-tini.
20:43You are too kind. Too, too.
20:49And you, Marmy, are a hoot!
20:52Ha-ha! And now I, the Great Smar-tini, will perform my amazing trouser-defying double O-oo-trick!
21:03Marmy, may I have two words that have the double O-oo-sound in them, please?
21:11Here, sonny boy, are the words...
21:16...noodles...
21:17...noodles...
21:18...and...
21:19...oodles!
21:20Ha-ha!
21:21Oh, thank you, Marmy!
21:23Oh, thank you!
21:24And now, I'll put these words into my smarty pants.
21:28Do it!
21:29Do it!
21:30All right, and now I will say a magic word...
21:34...oobracadoobra!
21:38And now, I will do my magic dance.
21:41Ooh-ah!
21:43Dancing smart the pants, yeah!
21:45Ooh-ah!
21:46Dancing smart the pants, ooh-ah!
21:48All right, let's, uh, see what we got!
21:52Ooh!
21:54Ooh!
21:55Oodles of noodles!
21:57Woo-ah!
21:58Can I get a whoopty-doodle for the noodles?
22:01Woo-ah!
22:02Whoopty-doodle!
22:03Whoopty-doodle!
22:04Whoopty-doodle!
22:05Whoopty-doodle!
22:06Whoopty-doodle!
22:07Whoopty-doodle!
22:11Ooh!
22:14Kachoo!
22:15Come on!
22:16How did this happen because of me?
22:18I-I was reading a book when it happened.
22:20That's right.
22:21Right.
22:22I saw the whole thing.
22:25Oh, Gladys!
22:27Take this down for posterity.
22:28Right.
22:30Here's how it happened.
22:31I promise it's true.
22:32Cause a dad took a book about a small bug's kachoo.
22:36Everyone crashed with a mighty kaboom!
22:39A mighty kaboom that shook the whole room.
22:42The mighty kaboom was a bursting balloon.
22:45The hot air balloon of Lord Bootsy Baboon.
22:47A lovely balloon that was colored maroon.
22:50What was it then that burst the balloon?
22:52A rocketing monkey by name of McFloon.
22:55McFloon?
22:56What sent McFloon flying high in the air?
22:59A plummeting book sent him shooting up there.
23:01Whence came that book?
23:03Well, you may ask it.
23:04It fell from Lord Bootsy Baboon's balloon basket.
23:07Uh-oh.
23:08The name of the book was From the Earth to the Moon.
23:11Lord Bootsy was planning to go by balloon.
23:13You see, Bootsy Baboon was reading the book when a ladder of monkeys was snagged on the hook of the anchor the trail beneath the balloon.
23:19The maroon-hued balloon of Bootsy Baboon.
23:22When that ladder of monkeys snagged on that hook, that's when Lord Bootsy let go of that book.
23:26A ladder of monkeys?
23:28A hen was there too.
23:30It rolled round the library, raced right on through.
23:33The monkeys were up there to do some repairs.
23:35On the balcony rim, right next to the stones.
23:38The reason the ladder was rolling around?
23:40Because a computer was knocked to the ground.
23:42This frightened the chicken.
23:44The chicken jumped on.
23:45And away with a whoosh.
23:46The ladder was rolling.
23:49What bumped the computer?
23:51That's my fault, you see.
23:53I bumped into it when Marmee bumped me.
23:55And the reason she bumped me?
23:59It happened when our dear Smarmy Marmee picked up a pen.
24:03A pen that had fallen from up on a book that was up on a stack from which a dad took.
24:10I promise it's true.
24:13The story of how a small bug went ka-choo.
24:19That is what caused all the hullabaloo.
24:22Wait, wait, wait, let me get this straight.
24:25Are you trying to tell me that here's how it happened?
24:28Why the baboon's balloon went kaboom.
24:31Now in the library, I put my pen down.
24:34I put my pen down on a big stack of books.
24:37Then I pulled out a book from deep in that book stack.
24:40Because I did that, I knocked the pen off.
24:43Because it fell off, Marmee bent down to get it.
24:46She picked that pen up when it fell on the floor.
24:50Now because she did that, she bumped into Cleo, who was crossing the library doing a chore.
24:56Because she bumped Cleo, she sent some books flying.
25:01Because they went flying, a computer got bopped.
25:04Because it got bopped, it frightened the chicken.
25:07She jumped in the air with a squat.
25:10Because she jumped up, she hit a tall ladder.
25:13Because it got hit, it started to roll.
25:16Because it was rolling, some monkeys ran after it, but that ladder was going too fast.
25:21Up in the air, library patron, the famous explorer, Lord Bootsy Baboon,
25:27was floating along, making no trouble, reading a book from the earth to the moon.
25:32Floating along, making no trouble, floating along in his hot air balloon.
25:38It's his favorite color, the color of our ruler.
25:41Because he was floating right over the ladder, Lord Bootsy's anchor got snagged on its top.
25:46Because it got snagged, the ladder went backward and no one could make the thing stop.
25:50It yanked on the anchor, which pulled on the basket, which gave Poor Lord Bootsy a terrible jerk.
25:55Down went his book and it fell on a sawhorse.
25:57A monkey was taking a break from his work.
26:00Because the book fell, the sawhorse came down.
26:02Because it went down, the monkey went up.
26:05McFloon?
26:06Because he went up, that monkey McFloon punched a big hole in that hot air balloon.
26:10Oh!
26:12And Bootsy Baboon's balloon went kaboom!
26:16What a kaboom!
26:18It shook the whole room!
26:20That mighty kaboom, so big and so loud, took monkeys and chickens, the whole crazy crowd.
26:25Bootsy and Cleo, with bits of balloon, threw them all over the pain.
26:33Yari!
26:34It's okay!
26:36And that's how it happened.
26:39Well, I guess that it's true.
26:41Just because I pulled out, little bug went kachoo.
26:46How many dads would go to so much trouble just to teach their cubs a lesson?
26:51Well, um...
26:52I am never gonna forget that lesson.
26:54I, uh...
26:55Daddy?
26:56You are so smart.
26:58Oh, yes, thank you.
27:00Uh, well, it certainly was a lot of trouble, wasn't it?
27:04Yes, you're right.
27:05Yes, you're right.
27:06Yes, you're right.
27:07Yes, you're right.
27:08Yes, you're right.
27:09Oh, hey!
27:10Why don't you kids go outside and play some soccer while I deal with the mob?
27:15Thanks, Daddy!
27:16Patrons!
27:17Patrons!
27:18You're patrons!
27:19I...
27:20Oh, Theo.
27:21How many times have we talked about taking a book from the center of the stack?
27:24Mm-hmm.
27:25I hope you learned your lesson.
27:26Well, heh, you're never too old to learn, you know.
27:30Which reminds me of a story.
27:32It's in this book right here...
27:33No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
27:37What?
27:40And now, Walter and Clay Pigeon play kazoos.
