03:14Oh, honestly, Bob.

03:26A builder named Bob and his twin named Tom.
03:30Can we fix it?
03:35Yes, we can!

03:42Oh yeah, and a very silly scarecrow.
03:45Oh!
03:46Wow!
03:47And did I mention that it's also about a really famous surprise guest star?
03:52Oh my goodness!
03:53Wow!

07:04Barney comes to play with us whenever we may be.
07:08Barney's friends are big and small.

08:00Let's see what else we've got.
08:08Hi, guys.
08:09Hi, Kevin.
08:10Boy, it's really cold outside.

08:15Would you like some help?
08:16Sure.
08:16We have a few more decorations to put up.
08:19Did you bring a toy and some canned food?

08:28after we decorate the big tree in the park.
08:31Ew, I can't wait to see that.
08:33Everyone is invited to help decorate the tree today.
08:36But first, let's finish the caboose.
08:38Right.

09:38Ha-la-la-la-la-la-la-la.
09:41Hi, everybody. What you doing?
09:44We're decorating the caboose for Christmas.
09:47I think you decorated more than the caboose.
09:49Yeah. You look like a purple Christmas tree.
09:53Here, Barney. Let me help you.
09:55Why, thank you, Darnell.
09:56Well, I guess I got a little carried away with the tin saw.
10:00Oh, that's okay. We all want to look special for Christmas.
10:04Oh, and speaking of special, the caboose looks super dee-duper.
10:09We didn't do it all ourselves, Barney.
10:12Lots of people came to help decorate the caboose this week.
10:15There are so many pretty Christmas decorations.
10:18A tree with bright lights and tinsel and shiny ornaments.
10:22And holiday rings.
10:24Oh, there are so many ways to celebrate the holidays.
10:27Yeah, Barney, we have a Christmas nativity scene.
10:31Oh, that's very nice.
10:33And Jewish children use this menorah to celebrate Hanukkah.
10:36Oh, that's the festival of lights.
10:39And they play a game with this dreidel.
10:41Oh, it's like a top.
10:43Barney, I brought this m-cake.
10:45It's a pretty placemat to celebrate the African-American holiday of Kwanzaa.
10:49Oh, such bright colors.
10:51Oh, well, any way you celebrate, it's a very special time of year.
10:57Oh, I love the holidays.
11:00I love the holidays.
11:03I do.
11:07I'd love to celebrate with you.
11:12With all our friends and family.
11:16Together we'll have fun.
11:19Laughing, telling stories.
11:22Give a hug to someone.
11:24Oh, little town of Bethlehem, how still we see thee lie.
11:38Above thy deep and dreamless sleep, the silent stars go by.
11:46Yet in thy dark streets shining, the everlasting light.
11:55The hopes and fears of all the years are met in thee tonight.
12:04Let's take a look over here.
12:06I have a little dreidel.
12:13I made it out of clay.
12:15And when it's dry and ready, then dreidel I shall play.
12:18Oh, dreidel, dreidel, dreidel.
12:20It loves to dance and spin.
12:22And when it is all tired, it drops and then I win.
12:26Oh, so many ways to celebrate.
12:31Happy Kwanzaa, happy Kwanzaa, love and peace.
12:37From me to you, Havari Ghani spreads the news.
12:43A joy to you and asks what's new.
12:47Happy Kwanzaa, happy Kwanzaa, love and peace.
12:52From me to you, Havari Ghani spreads the news.

13:09Now the special ones we love are near.
13:14So, let's have a holiday in a very special way.
13:21I'd love to share my holidays with you this year.
13:27Yep, the holidays are a wonderful time to share.
13:37That's why people are bringing canned food and toys to the families that need special help this year.
13:43Oh, that's very nice.
13:46Barney, what do you like about the holidays?
13:49Um, spending time with friends.

14:55Snowflakes, snowman, sleds and slacks.
14:57It's really, really snowing.
15:02It's snowing.
15:04Our footprints show right where we've been going.
15:07We've gone here and we've gone there.
15:08I love it when it's snowing.
15:14It's snowing.
15:15It's snowing.
15:16Your rosy cheeks are showing.
15:18Winter's here, so give a cheer.

15:35It's snowing.
15:36It's really, really snowing.
15:38Oh, Barney.
15:42Uh, yeah?
15:44Did you know that if you put a hat on a snowman, he can answer questions?
15:48No, I did not know that.
15:50Come on, I'll show you.
15:51Okay.
15:55Oh, now, Beth, did you say a snowman can answer questions when you put a hat on his head?
16:01Uh-huh, what?
16:02Okay.
16:03Mr. Snowman, where does snow come from?
16:07Snow comes from up in the sky.
16:09That's right.
16:09Oh, he knows snow much.
16:14Now, Mr. Snowman, how big is Barney's tummy?
16:19Hmm.
16:20Very big.
16:22Not that big.
16:24Ho, ho, ho.
16:25Uh, Mr. Snowman, can you point to the oldest and most beautiful tree in the park?
16:31Very good, Mr. Snowman.
16:34It's over there.
16:35Now, tell me, how tall is that tree?
16:40Oh, I think it's taller than that.
16:43Taller than that.
16:46I can't make my arms go that tall.
16:49Ho, ho, ho.
16:50Oh, Kevin, you make a very smart snowman.
16:53Ho, ho.
16:55Barney, my Grammy's in charge of decorating the big tree this Christmas and invited me to help today.
17:01Oh, how fun.
17:03May we join you?
17:04Yes, please.
17:05Sure.
17:05Come on, everyone.
17:06Let's go.
17:07Oh, this is going to be still undies.
17:11Grammy!
17:22Hi, sweetie.
17:24Oh, I see you brought some friends to help us decorate.
17:27Hi, Mrs. Phillips.
17:28Good morning.
17:28Merry Christmas.
17:30Ho, ho, ho.
17:31Oh, this tree is absolutely tremendous.
17:35Yes, and it's very special to me, Barney.
17:38Oh, why is that, Mrs. Phillips?
17:41Well, long ago, my grandfather, Beth's great-great-grandfather, planted this tree.
17:48Oh.
17:48Back then, it was tiny.
17:50Since then, it's grown every year, and now it's almost the tallest tree in the park.
17:56People have decorated every Christmas.
17:58That's right, Beth.
17:59And more folks will be here tonight to watch us light the tree.
18:03Well, I think it looks beautiful even without any Christmas decorations.
18:07Oh, it certainly does, Barney.
18:09It's so green and pretty all year.
18:15Oh, Christmas tree.
18:17Oh, Christmas tree.
18:18Your leaves are so unchanging.
18:21Oh, Christmas tree.
18:22Oh, Christmas tree.
18:24Your leaves are so unchanging.
18:27Not only green when summer's here, but also when it's cold and drear.
18:33Oh, Christmas tree.
18:35Oh, Christmas tree.
18:36Your leaves are so unchanging.
18:38Oh, Christmas tree.
18:39Oh, Christmas tree.
18:41Oh, Christmas tree.
18:47Oh, Christmas tree.
18:48Your leaves are so unchanging.
18:52Oh, Christmas tree.
18:53Oh, Christmas tree.
18:55Your leaves are so unchanging.
18:59Well, as pretty as this tree is now, we're about to make it even more stew-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o.
19:15And it's for the Christmas holidays.
19:30Let's get started, everybody.
19:32Okay.
19:33Now, those boxes hold the strings of lights, which we hang first.
19:37Okay.
19:38These boxes hold some ornaments, but folks will bring lots more.
19:43Mrs. Phillips, what's in this box?
19:46Ah, the most special ornament of all is in this box, Darnell.
19:51It's the shiny gold star that we put at the very top of the tree.
19:57Oh, my goodness.
20:00It's not here.
20:01Oh, no.
20:02It's not.
20:03The tree has to have its star on top.
20:06What can we do to help?
20:08Let's not worry too much.
20:10Best grandfather and I keep some of these decorations, including this box, up in our attic.
20:15I'm sure the star is up there somewhere.
20:18Would you please run over to the house and look for it, honey?
20:21Sure, Granny.
20:22We'll be back soon.
20:23I'm sure you will, dear.
20:24See you later.
20:25Come on, everyone.
20:26Let's go.
20:27Wow.
20:28Over the river and through the woods to grandmother's house we go.
20:32The horse knows a way to carry the sleigh through white and drifted snow.
20:37Over the river and through the woods, oh, how the wind does blow.
20:41It stings the toes and bites the nose as over the ground we go.
20:47Oh, ho, ho, ho.
20:48I think we're getting closer.
20:50Ho, ho.
20:51Over the river and through the woods to have a full day of play.
20:55Oh, hear the bells ringing, tingling, linging, hooray for Christmas Day.
21:00Over the river and through the woods to have fast my dad, hooray.
21:06Sprint lower the ground just like a found, hooray for Christmas Day.
21:15Over the river and through the woods, now Granny's house I spy.
21:19Ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho.
21:21Ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho.
21:25Grandpa! Grandpa! Where are you?
21:38Up here, sugar. In the attic.
21:41Watch your step, everybody.
21:45There you are.
21:47Yep, you found me fair and square.
21:49Say, that's quite a crowd you have here.
21:51Hi, everybody.
21:52Hi, Mr. Phelous.
21:54It's good to see you, Mr. Phillips.
21:56I'd shake your hand, Barney, but I'm a little tied up right here.
22:00I think I can wiggle my eyebrows, though.
22:04I don't have any eyebrows, Mr. Phillips, so I'll just wave.
22:09I was just testing these lights.
22:12I thought I'd decorate the house while your Grammy's over at the park today.
22:16That's why we're here.
22:18The big star is missing from its box,
22:20and Grammy says it's up here in the attic somewhere.
22:22Yes, it probably is.
22:24Let's see.
22:25I took the star out of the box a while back to shine it up.
22:29I must have forgotten to put it back.
22:32I couldn't say where it might be in all this mess,
22:35but I'm sure you'll find it.
22:37You might even come across some other treasures, too,
22:40if you look hard enough.
22:41Treasures?
22:43Yeah, lots of them are hiding up here.
22:45Wow!
22:46I'm going downstairs to the living room to put up the tree.
22:51Call me if I can help.
22:52Thank you, Paul.
22:53We will.
22:54Okay.
22:54See you later, Mr. Phillips.
22:57There sure is a lot of stuff here.
23:00Oh, there certainly is.
23:02Wow!
23:03Where do we start?
23:05We can start with this banjo.
23:07Do you like my hat?
23:09What about this giant marble?
23:12Oh, there's so much here to look through.
23:22Oh, I imagine looking around this attic will be great fun.
23:28Just imagine, just imagine, just imagine all the things that we could be.
23:41Imagine all the places we could go and see.
23:49Imagination's fun for you and me.
23:52We could go to the moon in a great big balloon.
23:59Build a castle by playing pretend.
24:02We might even explore with a big dinosaur.
24:06Or make rainbows that never end.
24:10Just imagine, just imagine, just imagine all the things that we could be.
24:20Imagine all the places we could go and see.
24:30Imagination's fun for you and me.
24:35We can go anywhere.
24:37We can be anyone.
24:39We can do it quite easily, too.
24:43We just play, let's pretend, and we know in the end that it's so much fun to do.
24:50Just imagine, just imagine, just imagine all the things that we could be.
25:02Imagine all the places we could go and see.
25:10Imagination's fun for you and me.
25:15Imagination's fun for you and me.
25:25Ho, ho, ho, ho, ho.
25:26Ho, ho, ho, ho.
25:28Wow, cool!
25:33Hmm, very pretty.
25:36I think.
25:43Let's see here.
25:46Nope, no star there.
25:48Maybe I'll look over here.
25:54Ho, ho, ho, a big hoop.
25:57Ho, ho, ho.
26:00Hey, everyone.
26:01There's something shiny and gold down in this box.
26:04Oh, oh, the star.
26:07Never mind.
26:08Oh, well, keep looking, everyone.
26:12I think I'll check this box.
26:15Wow, your grandfather said we might find treasure, Beth.
26:18Look, everybody, a treasure chest.
26:21I wonder what's in it.
26:22Maybe something shiny like our star.
26:25Or maybe something yummy like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
26:28Hey, baby.
26:29Better than that, Barney.
26:33Look, toys.
26:34Oh, toys are a treasure of fun.
26:38What a cute little teddy bear.
26:40Wow, an airplane with a propeller.
26:45Look, a pretty rag doll.
26:49Here's a drummer, boys.
26:51Oh, my.
26:52Whoa, cool.
26:55And another.
26:56Another one.
26:57Whoa.
26:58And another one.
27:00Oh, so many.
27:02Wow, and another one.
27:04Uh-oh.
27:06Wait, listen.
27:08What's that name?
27:09I don't know.
27:09What is it?
27:10Maybe we better check it out.
27:13How does it work, BJ?
27:16I don't know, sissy.
27:17I'm not even sure what it does.
27:19All right, it's Baby Bop and BJ.
27:22Hi.
27:23Hi, guys.
27:24What's up?
27:25We were just looking through an old toy chest and bound to meet stuff.
27:28Like these drummer boys.
27:30Yeah.
27:31Oh, drummer boys.
27:32Cool.
27:33Oh, and what are you two up to?
27:36BJ was trying to make this thing work.
27:38That's my grandpa's old Victrola.
27:40A what?
27:41It's a Victrola.
27:43It plays music.
27:44All you have to do is wind it up, BJ.
27:47Oh, like this?
27:49Oh, just like that.
27:52Wow.
27:53Oh, that's one of my favorite holiday songs.
27:57March of the Toys.
27:58Toys, partage, up.
28:07Toys, march.
28:10Oh, that's it.
28:18Go, sissy.
28:25This way.
28:26And around.
28:29Much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much.
28:34Good.
28:35Oh, very good.
28:37Oh, I love my game.
28:58March, much, much, much, much, much.
28:59Oh, you all make stupendous drummers.
29:23Thanks, Barney.
29:25Ho, ho, ho.
29:26Ho, ho.
29:26Whoop, sharp.
29:33That was cool as you.
29:35Marching, marching.
29:37Can we play some more now?
29:38We're trying not to play too much, Baby Bop.
29:41Yeah, we're looking for the star that goes on top of the tree in the big park.
29:46Looking for a star up here and all this cool stuff.
29:50Can Sissy and I help?
29:52Yes, can we please?
29:54Oh, ho.
29:54You sure can.
29:56Okay, everyone.
29:57Let's keep looking.
29:59Okay.
29:59I'm looking right over here.
30:01Here, little star.
30:04Hey, a basketball.
30:07Cool.
30:07Baseball cards.
30:12Mickey Mantle, 1952.
30:15Old baseball cards.
30:21What's this?
30:23I found it.
30:25I found a star.
30:26Wow, let's see.
30:28Way to go, Kevin.
30:30Where's the box?
30:32Here it is.
30:33Oh, ho, ho.
30:34Oh, ho, ho, ho.
30:35Yeah.
30:35Oops, I think the star is a little small.
30:42Yeah, I don't think it's the one for the big tree in the park.
30:46No?
30:47No.
30:48That must be the star that my grandpa puts on his tree downstairs.
30:52Well, I'm sure we'll find the right one soon.
30:55Yeah.
30:56Let's keep looking.
30:59Hey, Darnell.
31:00I wonder what's under here.
31:02Let's look.
31:02Okay.
31:03Okay.
31:05Is it some kind of furniture?
31:09Oh, well, that's an old roll-top desk.
31:12The cover rolls right up.
31:14Here, let me show you.
31:15Whoa.
31:16Maybe the star's inside.
31:19Whoa, that's not a star.
31:21What is it?
31:23Oh, that's an old typewriter.
31:25How does it work?
31:26Well, each key has a letter on it.
31:29Oh, yeah, like a computer keyboard.
31:31Right.
31:32And we can use a typewriter to write letters.
31:35Oh.
31:36Oh, let's write a letter to Santa.
31:38Yeah.
31:39Yeah.
31:39Yeah.
31:40Okay.
31:41What do we want it to say?
31:43Hmm.
31:43Let's see.
31:44We're writing a letter to Santa today with so many things that we want to say.
31:52Dear Santa, we're writing to wish you good cheer and tell you how good we've been this year.
31:59Oh, Santa Claus, Santa Claus, please visit me.
32:02The house will look pretty with lights on a tree.
32:06I'll leave you some cookies on Christmas Eve night.
32:09I'll be in my bed all snuggled up tight.
32:13I can't wait.
32:15Oh, oh, oh.
32:16Fly up to my roof in your reindeer sleigh.
32:20Then slide down my chimney with gifts right away.
32:24Before we forget, there's one thing more.
32:27For kids without chimneys, please use their door.
32:31Oh, Santa Claus, Santa Claus, please visit me.
32:34The house will look pretty with lights on a tree.
32:37I'll leave you some cookies on Christmas Eve night.
32:41I'll be in my bed all snuggled up tight.
32:45One more time.
32:46Oh, Santa Claus, Santa Claus, please visit me.
32:50The house will look pretty with lights on a tree.
32:53I'll leave you some cookies on Christmas Eve night.
32:57I'll be in my bed all snuggled up tight.
33:01With love from Baby Bop and her friends.
33:04Oh, oh, oh.
33:07I found a ball.
33:11I found a ball.
33:13Oh, Cammie, what did you find?
33:15Some old books.
33:17Books?
33:18Oh, I like books.
33:20Would you read a book to us, Barney, please?
33:23Yeah, Barney.
33:23Well, we should be looking for the star.
33:27Pretty, please?
33:29But I guess we could read just one book.
33:31Yeah.
33:32Now, which books do we have here?
33:35Here's the gingerbread boy.
33:36Oh, that's a good one.
33:38This is Mother Goose rhyme.
33:40Another personal favorite?
33:42A picture of Santa.
33:44What's this book, Barney?
33:46Oh, that's a very special book for this time of year, Baby Bop.
33:50It's called The Night Before Christmas.
33:52Oh, goody.
33:54Would you read that book, please?
33:56Yeah.
33:57I'd be delighted.
34:00Yeah.
34:02Let's see here.
34:03T'was the night before Christmas, when all through the house, not a creature was stirring,
34:10not even a mouse.
34:12The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.
34:19The children were nestled, all snug in their beds, while visions of sugar plums danced in their heads.
34:25And Mama and her kerchief, and I and my cap, had just settled down for a long winter's nap.
34:32When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.
34:39Away to the window I flew in a flash, tore open the shutters, and threw up the sash.
34:44The moon on the breast of the new fallen snow, gave a luster of midday to objects below.
34:52When what to my wondering eye should appear, but a miniature sleigh and eight tiny reindeer.
34:58With a little old driver so lively and quick, I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.
35:05More rapid than eagles his coursers they came, and he whistled and shouted and called them by name.
35:11Now Dasher, now Dancer, now Prancer and Vixen, on Cummy, on Cupid, on Donner and Blitzen.
35:19To the top of the porch, to the top of the wall, now dash away, dash away, dash away all.
35:25So up to the housetop the coursers they flew, with a sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too.
35:32And then in a twinkling I heard on the roof, the prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
35:38As I drew in my hand and was turning around, down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound.
35:45He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot, and his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot.
35:52A bundle of toys he had flung on his back, and he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.
35:58His eyes how they twinkled, his dimples how merry.
36:02His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry.
36:06His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow, and the beard of his chin was as white as the snow.
36:13He had a round face and a little round belly, that shook when he laughed like a ball full of jelly.
36:20He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf, and I laughed when I saw him in spite of myself.
36:26A wink of his eye, and a twist of his head, soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.
36:33He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work, and filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk.
36:41And laying his finger aside of his nose, and giving a nod, up the chimney he rose.
36:47He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle, and away they all flew like the down on a thistle.
36:55And I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,
36:59Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night.
37:05The end.
37:07I like that story, Barney.
37:10Santa up on the roof, and clump, clump, clump, clump.
37:13I wish Santa would come today, and bring us a star for the tree.
37:19Well, I'm sure we'll find it soon. Let's keep looking.
37:22Okay.
37:23Okay.
37:23Give a look over here.
37:26I think it's over here.
37:28Can't find the star anywhere.
37:31Hey, everyone, over here.
37:33You found the star?
37:33You found the star?
37:35I found a picture of it, I think.
37:38Just a picture?
37:40Yeah, look here.
37:41That's a star, all right.
37:44See, my great-great-grandpa's standing next to the tree, when it was tiny.
37:49Oh, it looks like it was too small to hold up the star.
37:53But now that the tree's grown up, I bet the star's the perfect size.
37:58If we could find it.
38:00Yeah, and everyone's counting on us to bring it for the tree lighting tonight.
38:04Well, maybe it's time to ask a star for a little help.
38:08Ask a star?
38:10How do we do that?
38:12Twinkle, twinkle, little star, how we wonder where you are.
38:19Somewhere in this attic high, we can't find you though we try.
38:26Twinkle, twinkle, little star, show us now just where you are.
38:33Oh, little star, where are you?
38:37Twinkle, twinkle, little star, how we wonder where you are.
38:44Somewhere in this attic high, we can't find you though we try.
38:51Twinkle, twinkle, little star, show us now just where you are.
38:59Guess the star's not talking today.
39:05Guess not.
39:07We looked everywhere in this attic.
39:10I guess we won't have a star to put on top of the tree tonight.
39:14Ay, ay, ay, where is that star?
39:19Hey guys, this looks like the top of a star.
39:23Mountain, we found a star?
39:26Let's see what's under here.
39:28We found it, we found it.
39:31Yay.
39:32Ay, it was right here all the time.
39:35Well, let's put it back in its box.
39:37Oh, good.
39:39Here we go.
39:41A perfect fit.
39:45Okay, everybody, let's get back to the park.
39:48It sounds like a very happy commotion up here.
39:52Grandpa, Grandpa, we found the star.
39:54Oh, good job.
39:55I knew you would, sugar.
39:56We'd better get it over to your grandmother.
39:58Oh, look.
40:00Uh, Baby Bop, we have to go now.
40:03No more time to play.
40:04But listen, Barney.
40:06Jingle bells.
40:08Can we play with them, please?
40:10Well, Barney, as we hurry to the park, we will be dashing through the snow.
40:15Oh, and over the fields we'll go.
40:18Letting all the way.
40:19Ha, ha, ha.
40:20Bring those along, Baby Bop.
40:22I think we will be needing some jingle bells after all.
40:25Oh, goody.
40:26I found jingle bells.
40:28Here we go.
40:29Jingle, jingle, jingle, jingle.
40:31Oh, what fun it is to ride and sing a sleighing song tonight.
40:54Oh, jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way.
40:59Oh, what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh.
41:04Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way.
41:08Oh, what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh.
41:13Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way.
41:17Oh, what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh.
41:21Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way
41:26Oh, what fun it is to ride in a one-horse, a big sleigh

41:51And we brought the prettiest one of all!

43:02Okay, everyone, it's time to light the tree!
43:15Hold on, hold on there. It seems we have a little problem.
43:20Oh, what's that?
43:22I can't reach the top of the tree from this ladder anymore.
43:26Oh, well, come on down, Mr. Phillips. Maybe I can help.
43:31You probably can reach the top from the ladder, Barney.
43:35You certainly are taller than anyone else.
43:38Maybe so, Mr. Phillips. But let's try this!
