00:45saying goodbye to this epic mountain that I camped across from,

00:49saying goodbye to the glacier that's over that way,

00:52and we're going back down into Alaska.

00:55When I woke up this morning,

00:56the mountain was more or less completely clear,

00:59and then over the last hour and a half or so,

01:01the clouds have moved in from this right side.

01:05You can see it's just a complete whiteout, basically, over there.

01:09And the clouds are moving in the direction of the Salmon Glacier,

01:14which is right there.

01:16Let's drive back up to the high point of this road,

01:20where we can view the glacier in its entirety,

01:22and get one last look at it.

01:24As fog drifts over the mountain peaks,

01:28he says goodbye to the glacier where he has been camping for several days.

01:32A drive along the winding, high-altitude roads

01:34provides one last sweeping view of the icy terrain

01:37before he begins his descent into Hyder, Alaska,

01:41a small, rain-soaked border town with a sparse population.

04:22I've removed the microphone from the camera because it's not waterproof, and so I don't know if you can hear me, or if you can hear me well, but that was amazing.

04:35Despite the bad weather, he captures footage of the bear scooping up dead fish from the water, dragging them along the creek banks, and even pulling one beneath the very boardwalk where he stands.

04:46The bear comes as close as ten feet from him, fully visible and active, yet seemingly unaware or uninterested in the lone observer above.

04:55At one point, the bear passes under the bridge and reappears on the other side of the creek, still in sight.

05:00It's a perfect combination of timing, location, and pure luck.

06:31You know what, I was thinking of following that trail a little bit further down the creek here, but I think I'm just going to jump, I'm just going to jump out into the woods.
