00:01Get in! Get in the car! Get in the car!
00:04Please, guys!
00:05Oh my god!
00:08Woo-hoo!
00:13Oh my god, it's throwing them! It's throwing them! Did you see that?
00:25There's a house right there!
00:26There's a house! There's a house!
00:27There's a house!
00:28There's a house!
00:29On November 17th, 2013, a family in Washington received warnings about a tornado approaching their area.
00:39But Mark Wells and his daughter were outside watching as it came closer, unaware of just how intense the situation
00:47was about to become.
00:49They watched as the tornado approached, but eventually the conditions became too intense,
00:55and they moved inside for safety.
01:01Holy moly!
01:03All right!
01:12All right!
01:12I gotta go!
01:13I'm coming, honey!
01:15Shit!
01:16Where you at, man?
01:17Goddamn!
01:17It's bad!
01:19Jesus!
01:19Sit down, honey!
01:21Oh!
01:21Shit, Josie!
01:25Uh-oh!
01:26Oh!
01:26It's- we're gonna get into some shit here, honey!
01:29Is this gonna stand up?
01:31I hope somebody...
01:33Yeah.
01:38Oh my god!
01:51Oh my god!
01:53Oh my god!
01:56Oh my god!
01:59Oh!
02:00Shit!
02:02Don't go out there!
02:03No, not yet!
02:04Don't!
02:04Oh!
02:06No!
02:08Make me out!
02:12Oh my god, Josie!
02:15What?!
02:19Wow!
02:25Holy moly!
02:35Oh, my God.
02:40Our house is freaking destroyed, Josie.
02:46The tornado then tore through their house, destroying parts of the home as they stayed low inside one of the
02:54rooms.
02:56Thankfully, neither of them was injured, but the damage around them was devastating.
03:02When they eventually looked outside, their home and the surrounding houses were left in complete ruins.
03:11Where's Autumn?
03:17I've never seen anything like it.
03:19Oh, shit.
03:26I don't know.
03:28Let's go. We've got to see if anybody else's house is up.
03:30Josie, come on.
03:33Hang on a second.
03:37Oh, Jesus, the H.
03:41I'm just in shock. I can't believe this happened.
03:44Oh, my God, Josie.
03:45The neighbors' houses are gone.
03:48Damn, I hope nobody's hurt.
03:51Autumn, stay there.
04:00Come on, Josie. Let's get out of here. The tornado's passed. We've got to get out of here and get
04:03to...
04:04Josie, come on now.
04:06Oh, my God!
04:08Josie!
04:09Oh, my God!
04:12Josie!
04:12Oh, my God!
04:18Holy shit!
04:22Josie, we've got to get out of here outside where it's safe, where the structure falls.
04:24My feet!
04:27My feet!
04:27My feet!
04:28That's alright.
04:30The faint sound of sirens could still be heard as they took in what had happened around them,
04:36with the destruction showing just how powerful the tornado had been.
04:42What had started with a warning had turned into their home, being torn apart around them, leaving both of them
04:50in shock.
04:52And seeing the destruction afterwards is almost as unsettling as watching the tornado itself.
05:01Because this is what remains when the storm finally passes.
05:09Freddy McKinney is a tornado chaser known for following some of the most intense storms.
05:16But one video he captured remains an incredibly unsettling example of just how quickly a tornado can turn from something
05:26you're watching into something directly threatening people's lives.
05:32Freddy was chasing a tornado as it began developing.
05:36And as he drove closer, the weather around him changed almost instantly.
05:42Yep, there it is on the ground, guys.
05:44On the ground.
05:45Oh, it's violent.
05:46Yep, we already got violent vortices and a multiple vortex.
05:49This is the beginning of the Hawley, Texas, EF3 tornado.
05:55Oh, it's going to mud here.
05:59We got a road right here.
06:01What does she look like?
06:02We're just going to take her anyway.
06:03Who cares?
06:05Holy smokes.
06:07This is going to be one for the books, guys.
06:12This is an incredible tornado.
06:15Instead of continuing southeast, the tornado suddenly makes a hard right turn and is now heading south-southwest, putting me
06:22in a dangerous spot.
06:24So I decided to retreat back west.
06:27Meanwhile, back at the Lambert's home, Wes has stepped back outside to keep an eye on the tornado.
06:33He also notices the tornado's change in direction, and it's now headed straight for them.
06:39Let's get out of the way here real quick to make sure we're out of the path of this thing.
06:50Oh, violent tornado!
06:52It just hit a house, I think.
06:54Oh my gosh, there's debris everywhere.
06:56There's debris everywhere.
06:59The tornado continued growing with each passing moment, turning what had started as a storm chase into an increasingly dangerous
07:08situation.
07:09Eventually, the tornado lifted, and the storm changed direction.
07:15Freddy continued following it, waiting to see whether another tornado would develop.
07:20And when one finally formed, it was even worse.
07:35There comes the debris, gotta watch the poles.
07:37Gotta watch the poles.
07:38Gotta watch the poles.
07:46As I pull into the Lambert's driveway, I annoyingly capture the final moments of their home,
07:52as they're about to experience the full force of this monster tornado.
08:08Absolute violent tornado.
08:11Just violent.
08:14Right here.
08:16Gotta get ready to back up, if it comes at us.
08:26gotta get ready to back up
08:27if it comes back toward us
08:36I think we're good though
09:04as Freddy watched the tornado from his car
09:07he realized it had hit something
09:11at the same time the Lamberts
09:13were inside their home
09:14watching the storm unfold
09:17from a distance before taking shelter
09:20as the situation became more dangerous
09:22then the tornado hit their house
09:25when Freddy investigated further
09:28what he saw was disturbing
09:36now this is an insane intercept
10:00I gotta make sure it didn't hit a house
10:03noticing the scattered debris
10:04I first assumed the tornado had struck a couple of outbuildings
10:08as very little remained of the damaged structures
10:11however this is when something catches my eye

14:51in July 2018
14:55Tommy captured what has to be
14:57one of the most intense
14:59tornado videos I've ever seen
15:02and what happened
15:04as the storm moved closer
15:06left viewers
15:08deeply unsettled
15:10Tommy had received a warning
15:12about a tornado in the area
15:14and when he looked outside
15:16the sight immediately showed
15:18how serious the situation had become
15:21is it as big as possible
15:50it's just like
15:51and it was a little
16:51As he moved through, darkness consumed everything around him, while the footage captured loud
16:56and terrifying sounds as the tornado passed through.
17:42The situation quickly became chaotic and then everything went black.
17:46The footage ends shortly afterwards, leaving viewers with only the sounds and images of
17:55what had just happened.
17:56It is difficult to imagine watching a tornado getting closer and closer while standing
18:03inside your own home and then feeling the full force of it pass directly through where you're
18:10standing.
18:15Storm chasing can already be dangerous, but on June 28th, 2025, what started as a storm chase
18:25in South Dakota quickly turned into a terrifying encounter when a massive tornado formed directly
18:32in front of the storm chasers.
18:35The storm chasers had several storms developing around them and they made the decision to follow
18:41one of them as the conditions continued to build.
18:46At first, they were simply watching the storm develop.
18:50But everything changed when a huge tornado suddenly formed.
18:55Alright, yeah.
18:56I'm really liking that west cell, honestly.
18:59Oh, it's got a good couplet on it.
19:00It's got a good couplet on it.
19:01Oh, we gotta get there.
19:02Dude, we gotta get there.
19:03Okay, go fast.
19:03We need to get there right now.
19:05Punching through the heavy rain and hail, we began to close in on the southern storm.
19:10Every new radar scan showed rotation building stronger and stronger now.
19:15My gut was right and we were now one turn away from what was about to become a monster.
19:22Oh my gosh, dude.
19:24Okay, I see the base out there.
19:26I'm trying to get my window down.
19:27Give me something.
19:27Dude, look at that.
19:28Yeah, yeah, yeah.
19:29Okay, hold on.
19:31Alright, we got a massive wall cloud.
19:34Massive wall cloud near Clear Lake, South Dakota right now.
19:37We're about to have a huge tornado.
19:39Oh my gosh, dude.
19:40It's coming down.
19:41It's coming down.
19:41It's coming down.
19:42Oh my God.
19:43Yeah, it's coming down.
19:44It's coming down right here.
19:45I'm getting out.
19:45Can I get out?
19:50Oh my gosh.
19:51Watch it.
19:52Watch it.
19:52Oh my God.
19:54The tornado began in open fields at 7 p.m.
19:57just west of the town of Clear Lake, South Dakota.
20:01However, multiple rural homes still sat in the area.
20:05And one of them was in the direct path of the approaching tornado.
20:10It's literally violent.
20:12Yeah, I know.
20:12It's literally violent.
20:13Yeah, I know.
20:13The tornado continued to grow, creating an intense scene for the storm chasers who watched
20:21it unfold.
20:22Eventually, the tornado lifted, and they thought the chase was over.
20:27But after checking the weather apps, they realized there was another storm that immediately
20:34caught their attention.
20:37Something about this storm stood out, and they had a feeling it could develop into something
20:42far worse than the tornado they had just witnessed.
20:47And they were right.
20:49I noticed a cluster of storms was beginning to create rotation to our west.
20:54This was another dilemma.
20:56Leave a storm that had already produced a tornado, or I could stay put and hope this struggling
21:02storm could cycle again.
21:04In another split second decision, I decided the rotation to our west was something we couldn't
21:10ignore.
21:10Before, we had to go.
21:12Jack, I kind of want to go to the west storm, dude.
21:15I just...
21:16I'm not sure, man.
21:18I think we just gotta go west, dude.
21:19Like, I don't know.
21:20I just have a feeling about this west storm.
21:22Look at the couplet on radar.
21:31While the now violent tornado churns in front of us.
21:35Just a few miles down the road, the Almos family, including 24-year-old Jayden, and her
21:40boyfriend, Dominic, are in their home.
21:42Jayden snaps photos of her dog.
21:44She has no clue.
21:46A tornado is heading straight for them.
21:53I'm gonna get a punch.
21:54I'm gonna put it up.
21:56Yeah, video that.
21:57Video that.
22:01Video that.
22:03Woo!
22:09I've never seen anything like this in my life.
22:18Oh my God, it's throwing them!
22:23It's throwing them!
22:24Did you see that?
22:24There's a house right there!
22:25A house!
22:25It's in your house!
22:26It's in your house!
22:29No!
22:30No!
22:31No!
22:31Oh my God!
22:31No!
22:32Shh!
22:35Oh no!
22:36Oh no!
22:56As the storm developed, the tornado became a serious threat.
23:00But what made the situation even more terrifying was where it was heading.
23:07A house was directly in its path.
23:10At first, the storm chasers didn't realize exactly what was about to happen.
23:15But as they got closer, it became clear the tornado was heading towards a family home.
23:21They watched as the tornado passed by other houses, but one house wasn't so lucky.
23:27The tornado tore directly through it, sending debris everywhere and completely destroying
23:34the home.
23:35The storm chasers immediately drove towards the area, desperate to reach the family and
23:42make sure they were safe.
23:43Okay.
23:44Take it!
23:46Oh my gosh, guys!
23:48No!
23:48Guys!
23:49Guys!
23:49Guys!
23:50Guys!
23:50Guys!
23:52Avoid it!
23:53Avoid it!
23:53Oh my God!
23:55Oh my God!
24:02Oh my God!
24:03We should go!
24:10Oh my God!
24:11Oh my God!
24:14Oh my God!
24:16We should go!
24:17Oh my God!
24:19We should go!
24:19Oh my God!
24:20Hello!
24:21Hello!
24:21Hello!
24:21Dude, she's dirty!
24:23Careful!
24:24Don't hurt yourself!
24:25It becomes something.
24:25Okay.
24:25Okay.
24:26Go, go, go, go, go, go.
24:28Hello?
24:30Hello?
24:31Is anyone here?
24:33I hear them.
24:35They're screaming help.
24:36They're screaming help.
24:37Is anyone on phone?
24:38Is anyone on phone?
24:39Who are you?
24:40Hold on.
24:58You're in shock now, right?
25:00Yeah, no, I'm okay.
25:01Just like, yeah.
25:04Where did you guys go?
25:07I can't believe it.
25:08I didn't want to sit down.
25:10That's what God did.
25:11He was saying that when he was doing,
25:14when he got down on the ground,
25:15I swore a tree to leave.
25:17I was like, where was it?
25:19Yes, it's okay.
25:21I lost the job.
25:22I don't know how to describe it.
25:24I was like, what's going on?
25:26Yeah, I can't see it.
25:28I can't see it.
25:29I can't see it.
25:30I can't see it.
25:31I can't see it.
25:32I can't see it.
25:33I can't see it.
25:35I can't see it.
25:36I can't see it.
25:36Others also pulled together to help,
25:39and thankfully the family survived
25:41with only minor injuries.
25:44But seeing an entire home destroyed in front of them
25:47was something the storm chasers wouldn't forget.
25:51What had started as another storm chase
25:53had turned into one of the most terrifying experiences
25:57they had ever witnessed.
26:01Four tornado encounters that show just how quickly
26:05everything can change when a storm turns violent.
26:10Which one would have terrified you the most?
26:12Let me know in the comments.
26:14And thanks for watching.
