00:00Hello?
00:30Something about the air felt wrong that evening, but Katie Rooms, a solo camping YouTuber known
00:40for her minimalist outdoor lifestyle, was used to the uneasy stillness of the wild.
00:45She had spent countless nights far from civilization, where every sound carried through the trees
00:50and every shadow seemed to hold its breath.
00:52Her videos usually offered viewers a safe escape into nature's closet, the low crackle
00:57of a campfire, the slow lap of water against the shore, the comforting illusion that nothing
01:02could disturb the peace.
01:03But this trip was different.
01:05What began as a simple retreat would end with her breaking camp in the middle of the night.
01:10It all started when she found a hidden lake deep in the woods.
01:13It surfaced so still it looked more like glass than water.
01:16The last light of day clung to the horizon, but the forest around her seemed to darken
01:20faster than it should.
01:22She slipped into the cool water for a quick swim, yet the longer she stayed, the heavier
01:26the silence became.
01:27By the time she climbed out, it was close to 7pm, and the trees at the shoreline had vanished
01:32into one unbroken wall of black.
01:35She dried off, pulled on her warm layers, and only then noticed she could no longer hear
01:39the birds.
01:40I've had my little dip, but I do need to get a move on because, well, it's kind of late.
01:58It's around 7pm right now and I'm chilly as well.
02:03So I need to get dressed.
02:04I need to go for a wander, I need to find a spot first of all to actually camp.
02:10I was going to try and camp around the lake, but there are no flat spots that aren't boggy.
02:16There's a lot of boggy bits, and the mozzies are a bit of a problem.
02:22So I'm going to go ahead and get dressed, I'm going to go on a wander, and we're going to
02:26find a spot.
02:27Oh, it's cold.
02:28Let's go.
02:35Oops.
02:36Katie moved carefully through the trees, searching for a patch of firm, level ground that wouldn't
02:41turn soggy beneath her tent.
02:43After several minutes, she came across a moss-covered clearing a short distance from the water's
02:47edge, dry enough and cushioned well enough to promise a reasonable night's rest.
02:52Once her tent was pitched, she gathered fallen branches and fashioned a simple bushcraft chair.
02:57It was rough, but sturdy, and sinking into it with a warm meal brought a quiet sense of
03:02accomplishment.
03:03As dust settled, the forest seemed to hush in a way that didn't feel natural.
03:07While she strung up a line for drying her gear and finished eating, the distinct acrid
03:12scent of cigarette smoke drifted through the air.
03:14Moments later, she heard low male voices somewhere in the trees, close enough to make her stop
03:19what she was doing.
03:20I can hear and smell a group of men.
03:24I can smell their cigarettes and I can hear them as well.
03:27So I'm just going to leave my camera on record for the foreseeable future until they leave.
03:34I would be quite concerned if they came any closer.
03:37So I'm just going to leave my camera on in case, because if they come up, my camera's
03:41on, I'll be on the phone with my mum or something.
03:45I'll call my mum and just, fingers crossed they don't come, but I don't really, well,
03:53I'm out here alone.
03:55I'm building a chair.
03:58They might be harmless, but it's better safe than sorry.
04:01So if you ever are in a situation like this, put your camera on record and call someone.
04:08It's the best thing you can do.
04:09Oh, and maybe have a knife on hand.
04:11No, I'm joking about that last bit.
04:14Or am I?
04:18They're still not gone.
04:22This is it so far.
04:25I'm trying to be quiet because I don't want them to know I'm here.
04:29I am quite camouflaged.
04:31But I have seen them.
04:35So if I can see them, they can most likely see me.
04:40Oh, I'm scared.
04:42It's okay.
04:43It's okay.
04:44It's okay.
04:45It's okay.
04:46Anyone solo, if there's a group of people near you, you have every right to be concerned
04:52because they are quite scary.
04:53I don't know if you can hear that, but the scary men are now playing music and smoking cigarettes.
05:05Okay.
05:06If you're playing music on a speaker, loud, in a forest, which is very peaceful, and chain-smoking cigarettes,
05:16you're not good vibes.
05:18If you can hear that, I'm sorry.
05:20Because it's also ruining my time.
05:23She didn't spot them right away, but the sudden blast of loud music from a portable speaker left no doubt.
05:31They were camped far closer than felt safe.
05:33The sound cut through the natural quiet of the forest, bouncing between the trees in a way that made it hard to judge their exact distance.
05:41Staying calm, Katie kept her camera running, the small red recording light a quiet reassurance.
05:46If anything happened, she'd have proof.
05:48She stayed low and out of sight, aware that camping alone, especially as a woman,
05:53meant every movement had to be deliberate.
05:56Her instincts were sharp, but as she picked at her dinner,
05:59the thumping bass and bursts of laughter seeped into her nerves, coiling them tighter.
06:03Eventually, movement flickered between the trunks.
06:06They'd spotted the glow of her camp light.
06:09Their footsteps grew louder, branches snapping under their boots,
06:12until they emerged from the dark.
06:14Smiling easily, they called out,
06:16offering her a beer and inviting her to hang out,
06:18their tone light, but their presence unsettling in the stillness.
06:22Now that I've got my chair finished, I do believe it's time for some dinner.
06:26An update on the men.
06:29They are staying over there, probably about 50 metres away from me.
06:35They came over to say hello.
06:38They said they saw a light, which is this light.
06:41And they said hello, invited me for beers and for dinner.
06:45I said no thank you.
06:49Yeah, hopefully all is good.
06:52I'm sure everything will be fine.
06:55First of all, I don't drink.
06:57So, like, I just said, you know, sorry I don't drink.
07:01But, you know, I've just, I've had dinner already,
07:04which I haven't, I'm just making my dinner now.
07:06I don't really encounter people often.
07:14It's not a common occurrence.
07:16They're also still playing music, which is kind of annoying.
07:19Ooh.
07:22Well, never mind.
07:24Though the group eventually wandered back to their own camp,
07:27the music kept thundering through the trees,
07:30its bass line rattling the fragile quiet of the night.
07:33The bubble of calm Katie had built around herself was gone,
07:36replaced by the constant reminder that she was not alone.
07:39She picked at her dinner, forcing down a few bites.
07:42But the sound carried on, mixing with bursts of laughter
07:45that seemed to echo far longer than they should.
07:48By the time her watch read just before midnight,
07:51the decision was made.
07:52She couldn't stay.
07:53Moving slowly, she began dismantling her camp,
07:56each pull of a tent peg and zip of a bag,
07:58painfully loud against the heavy stillness.
08:01She kept glancing toward the dark tree line,
08:03half-expecting movement,
08:04the forest, which had always been her refuge,
08:07now felt altered.
08:09Its vastness pressing in,
08:11its silence holding an edge she didn't trust.
08:13Well, it is currently around midnight right now.
08:16I've just packed up my bag and my tent
08:20because I don't know if you can hear that,
08:22but the music is really loud.
08:24I don't feel safe here.
08:26So I'm going to head back to the car now.
08:28So I'll see you there.
08:43Well, I am back at the car.
08:45It is around half past 12 pushing on 1 a.m. right now.
08:51I'm really disappointed that I had to leave.
08:55Well, safety-wise,
08:56I'm very glad that I made the decision to leave.
08:59By the time the clock edged past 1 as I am,
09:02Katie had reached the safety of her car,
09:04the icy night air seeping through her clothes
09:06and stealing the warmth from her skin.
09:08Her legs ached from the uneven ground,
09:10and her hands were still raw
09:12from dismantling camp in the dark.
09:14Sitting in the driver's seat,
09:15she let the engine idle for a moment,
09:18staring out at the empty road,
09:19feeling both relief and frustration.
09:21This wasn't the trip she had imagined when she set out,
09:24but she knew she'd handled the situation
09:26with focus and caution,
09:28born from experience.
09:30Later, when the video went public,
09:32the comments split sharply.
09:34Some commended her presence of mind and awareness,
09:36while others dismissed her reaction,
09:38insisting there was nothing to fear
09:40from the nearby campers.
09:42August 1st, 2025,
09:45marked the release of a new upload
09:46from Paul Sinclair,
09:48the voice behind the Truth Proof channel,
09:50a video that opened as a casual, scenic update,
09:53before shifting into a record
09:54of an unsettling incident,
09:57adding yet another layer
09:58to the growing list of unexplained events
10:00across the UK.
10:01Paul, well-known for his investigations
10:03into strange lights,
10:05paranormal encounters,
10:06and other unexplained sightings,
10:08has built a reputation
10:09for keeping his storytelling grounded
10:11in real places
10:13and first-hand witness accounts.
10:15This time, his camera was set up
10:17on the windswept clifftops
10:18near BMP in Yorkshire,
10:20the sea stretching out behind him
10:21as the recording began
10:23much like his previous work.
10:24We've just got a sunset at Bempton tonight
10:27and we might be doing a paranormal update later
10:31and if this never makes it to the screen,
10:34obviously you know nothing's happened.
10:37But,
10:38it just might do.
10:41this would be the entry
10:46for the paranormal update.
10:47Obviously, if this makes it to YouTube,
10:50you know something's happened
10:51and you're going to hear something.
10:53If it doesn't,
10:55you just delete it.
10:56but I didn't think I could
10:58not show you guys
11:01this amazing,
11:02amazing sunset.
11:06We'd need to be a little bit further up
11:08to get full
11:09benefit of that, but
11:11we'll just put up with
11:13a lot of swallows about.
11:17how good is that?
11:20And,
11:21there's
11:22Ian
11:23and
11:24everyone else
11:26up there
11:29and I'm going to have a walk
11:31back towards them shortly.
11:33And I'll be updating you guys
11:36if and when anything happens
11:39in the next two or three hours.
11:42As daylight faded,
11:44Paul noted on camera
11:45that nothing out of the ordinary
11:47had happened so far
11:48but decided to record
11:49a short segment anyway.
11:51A choice
11:51that would later prove valuable.
11:53Following the narrow
11:54cliffside path,
11:55he came across a man
11:56named Gary,
11:57a bird watcher
11:58who had spent the day
11:59scanning the skies
12:00from the high vantage point.
12:02Their conversation
12:03began casually.
12:04The kind of
12:05friendly exchange
12:06common among people
12:07who frequent
12:08the same remote spots.
12:10But it quickly shifted
12:11when Gary began describing
12:12a strange sighting
12:14he had witnessed
12:14back in 2017.
12:15a story Paul
12:17had never encountered before.
12:19Though Gary preferred
12:20to stay mostly out of frame,
12:21he agreed to share
12:22the details on camera,
12:24giving Paul a rare
12:25first-hand account
12:26that would soon take
12:27the video in a
12:28completely unexpected direction.
12:30Say your name.
12:31Yeah, my name's Gary.
12:32I'm going to put it like that
12:33so that he can pick you up,
12:35the audio,
12:35because I never expected
12:35to bump into somebody.
12:37Hi everyone,
12:38Paul Sinclair here,
12:39Truth Proof.
12:39Well, I've just bumped into
12:40a guy who's been
12:41bird spotting for a day
12:43and he's just heading home.
12:46And Gary's just told me
12:49about something that
12:50you saw.
12:51But where was it, Gary?
12:52So, yeah,
12:53the encounter,
12:54it was at Wollsdon
12:56in Todmorden area,
12:59sort of just on the
12:59Yorkshire-Lancashire border.
13:02It was like one evening,
13:04I was just looking out
13:05of the skylight
13:06of the house
13:07that I lived in
13:08at the time
13:08and I saw this
13:11orange light
13:12actually emerge
13:13out of the hillside.
13:14So it actually
13:16came out of a hill?
13:17It came out of the hill
13:18itself, yeah.
13:19How high was the hill?
13:22Probably about
13:2315, 20 feet.
13:26Right,
13:27and it definitely
13:27came out of the side
13:28of it?
13:28It came out of the side
13:29of the hill, yeah.
13:32The hill's a bit
13:33of a strange
13:34sort of feature
13:36in the landscape anyway.
13:37So it's not a burial mound
13:38then?
13:39I don't think
13:40it's a burial mound.
13:41It does have,
13:42it's got a double
13:42conical shape
13:43so it rises,
13:46falls and then
13:46rises again.
13:47Okay.
13:48And it came out of
13:49came out of the hillside, yeah.
13:52I'm just putting it
13:52on the helicopter
13:53as you're talking.
13:53Nope, nothing else.
13:55It was so surprising.
13:57Yeah.
13:57Gary explained
13:58that several years earlier
14:00while in the
14:01Toad Morton area
14:02along the Yorkshire-Lancaster border
14:03he had been casually
14:05gazing through his skylight
14:06when he saw something
14:07he could not explain.
14:09From the hillside itself,
14:10not the sky above,
14:12a glowing orange sphere
14:13emerged
14:13as if rising
14:15out of the ground.
14:15It wasn't a distant light
14:17or a high-flying object
14:19vanishing into the horizon.
14:20The sphere hovered
14:21just 15 to 20 feet
14:22above the ground,
14:23gliding past
14:24at an unusually low altitude,
14:26close enough for him
14:27to clearly see
14:28both its shape
14:29and its vivid color.
14:31Roughly the size
14:31of a football
14:32or basketball,
14:33it radiated
14:34an intense orange glow
14:35and left a brief
14:36but visible trail
14:38in its wake,
14:39like the fleeting arc
14:40of a sparkler
14:40in the dark.
14:41What disturbed him most
14:42was its origin point.
14:44Not the treetops,
14:45not the open sky,
14:46but the hillside itself,
14:48a detail that suggested
14:49something moving
14:50from beneath the earth
14:51or using the land
14:52as a kind of concealment.
14:53In his words,
14:54the image had stayed
14:55with him ever since.
14:56If I had to guess,
14:59it would be like
15:00rose to like 20 feet
15:03above my head.
15:03So it's low?
15:04It's low?
15:05Yeah, it's low enough
15:06for me to actually
15:07get good eyes on it.
15:08So it's 20 feet
15:09above your head,
15:11so you get a good idea
15:12of how big it was,
15:13the size of a football?
15:14Yeah, probably about
15:15the size of a football
15:16or a basketball.
15:19Didn't stick around,
15:20it just instantly
15:22took off.
15:24And I'd imagine
15:24that surprised you.
15:25High rate of speed,
15:26yeah, I was,
15:28my mouth was open.
15:30Were it fear
15:31or just amazement?
15:32Amazement.
15:33Really?
15:33So as you're retelling
15:34this story, Gary,
15:35I'm just looking
15:36at an helicopter
15:37on the sea here
15:38so people realise
15:40we are in real time
15:41up on Bempton Cliffs.
15:42So today,
15:43what did you come
15:44up here for then?
15:45It was a day
15:46at the seaside
15:47at Filey Beach.
15:48Then I thought
15:49I'd quickly just come
15:51to Bempton
15:51for, you know,
15:52see the gannets.
15:54I'm keen to stress,
15:55because this is
15:56totally random.
15:57We've never met him.
15:58No.
15:58No, and Paul Sinclair
16:01being a little bit
16:01cheeky, guys,
16:03he's asked this guy
16:04if he's seen
16:04anything unusual
16:05and he's told me
16:06about this
16:06incredible
16:09orange orb
16:10that's come out
16:11of the side of a hill.
16:12And, you know,
16:13it just goes to show
16:14though, doesn't it?
16:14Although the strangeness
16:16of what he had witnessed
16:16was undeniable,
16:18Gary claimed that
16:19in the moment
16:19he felt more wonder
16:20than fear,
16:21as though he were
16:22watching something rare
16:23rather than threatening.
16:25Paul, however,
16:25leaned in with interest,
16:27aware that the
16:28Todd Morden area
16:28carries a long-standing
16:30reputation for
16:31unusual activity,
16:32often referred to
16:33by researchers
16:33as UFO Alley.
16:36It has been the focus
16:37of numerous investigations
16:38and whispered stories,
16:40lights in the sky,
16:41unexplained figures,
16:43and strange sounds
16:44that seemed to come
16:45from nowhere.
16:46This glowing sphere's
16:47appearance on that
16:48very ground
16:48added another layer
16:50to the place's
16:51already uneasy mystique.
16:53There was no chase,
16:54no sudden danger
16:55that day,
16:56yet the account
16:56still left
16:57a lingering chill.
16:58It was the implication
16:59that unsettled most,
17:01the thought
17:01that the hillside,
17:03the solid earth itself,
17:04might conceal passages
17:05or presences
17:06we cannot see,
17:07and that something
17:08unknown could rise
17:09from beneath our feet
17:10at any time
17:10without warning.
17:12November 19th, 2024,
17:14saw the release
17:15of a new video
17:16from the YouTube channel
17:17Rambling On,
17:18one that at first
17:19seemed like a peaceful
17:20trek through Ireland's
17:21remote woodlands
17:22in search of future
17:23camping spots,
17:25but as the morning
17:25hike unfolded,
17:27that sense of calm
17:28began to give way
17:29to something more
17:30unsettling.
17:31The creator moved
17:31carefully over uneven,
17:33root-tangled paths,
17:34narrating his method
17:35for finding suitable
17:36wild camping locations,
17:38he paused at
17:39moss-covered clearings
17:40where the ground
17:41felt soft underfoot
17:42and stepped into
17:43shadowed forest glades
17:44hemmed in by walls
17:46of dense undergrowth.
17:47The air was damp
17:48and still,
17:49carrying the scent
17:49of earth and fallen leaves,
17:51and the deeper he went,
17:52the more the place
17:53felt untouched,
17:54not just remote,
17:56but almost belonging
17:57to another time entirely.
17:58a few camping spots this morning.
18:07As soon as I came in,
18:09I saw two deer
18:10just in among the trees,
18:13so that was pretty cool.
18:19That tree there,
18:20to that tree there,
18:23and I'd have a little view
18:25out there if the clouds
18:25weren't down.
18:26I think the best idea
18:27is to come back,
18:29camp at that spot,
18:30and while I'm here,
18:32have a little wander up there
18:33and try to find
18:34a few more spots.
18:35I think that's the
18:36most efficient use
18:37of my time.
18:38I'm sure there's
18:38a lot of people
18:39that would look
18:40at this landscape here
18:41and think,
18:42nah,
18:43you can't camp there.
18:46So I went from
18:46that tree there
18:47to one of those
18:49trees there.
18:50It's a fairly big gap
18:51and the ground
18:52is shocking,
18:53but that could be
18:54an even better spot
18:55than the other one.
18:56And like,
18:56look at the
18:57foliage and the
18:59moss
19:00and the hollow.
19:02It'd be lovely,
19:03you know?
19:04And even that there,
19:06the little mound,
19:06that'd be like,
19:08let it see.
19:09Undeterred by the terrain,
19:10he pressed on
19:11with a steady,
19:12deliberate pace,
19:13moving as though
19:14ticking off a mental
19:15checklist of potential
19:16campsites.
19:17Yet the further
19:18he ventured,
19:19the more the forest
19:20seemed to resist
19:20his presence.
19:22Low branches
19:22snapped back
19:23into his face,
19:24snagging at his clothes,
19:25and one misstep
19:26on a steep incline
19:27sent him sliding
19:28dangerously close
19:29to landing hard
19:31on his own gear.
19:32He later described
19:33the place
19:33as both magical
19:34in its beauty
19:35and unyielding
19:36in its challenges.
19:38The first hint
19:38that something was wrong
19:39came quietly,
19:40the muffled crack
19:41of distant gunfire
19:42drifting through the trees.
19:44At first,
19:44he dismissed it,
19:46adjusting his route
19:46to steer clear
19:47of what he assumed
19:48were hunters
19:49somewhere nearby.
19:50But the shots
19:51kept coming,
19:52irregular and echoing
19:53in a way that
19:54made it impossible
19:55to tell just how
19:56far away they really were.
19:57Clamber over them.
19:58I'm just going to
19:59scurry my way
20:00back the way I can.
20:01Try and make
20:02my way across
20:03that stream.
20:05Now I'll just
20:05figure it out,
20:06go with the flow
20:07as it said.
20:08After me just thinking
20:09there's no signs
20:10of life up here.
20:12It's been up here
20:13a very,
20:14very long time.
20:18And it was just
20:19sticking up
20:20in the ground
20:20just like that.
20:22Oh,
20:22there's the handle
20:22off it.
20:23I just heard
20:31two more gunshots.
20:33I doubt the mic
20:34picked it up.
20:35But it sounded
20:36way off
20:37in the distance.
20:39So,
20:41what can you say?
20:44I'm going to
20:44take these over here
20:45though.
20:46I'm just very wary
20:47of which way
20:48the fork is going
20:50to be pointing.
20:50I don't want to
20:50fall back on it.
20:51If you think
20:52that was left up
20:53here when these
20:54trees were planted
20:55it was possibly
20:56leaning up
20:57against this tree
20:58which is gigantic.
21:00Probably 30
21:01or 40 years old.
21:02Some lad just
21:03forgot his fork
21:05one day.
21:06Hours into the trek
21:07with his legs
21:08heavy from the
21:09constant climb
21:10and descent
21:10he finally
21:11crossed paths
21:12with a lone hunter.
21:13Their conversation
21:14at first casual
21:15quickly took
21:16a sharper turn
21:17when the hunter
21:18delivered a warning
21:19that instantly
21:19reframed the
21:20entire day.
21:21Deer calling
21:22operations were
21:23underway across
21:23the forest.
21:25A period when
21:25hunters were
21:26deliberately luring
21:27deer in.
21:28Their calls
21:28carrying through
21:29the trees
21:30and rifles ready.
21:31The hunter
21:32explained that
21:32signs had been
21:33posted at the
21:34trailheads to
21:34warn hikers to
21:35stay clear.
21:36But the YouTuber
21:37hadn't seen a
21:37single one when
21:38he entered.
21:39By the time he
21:40learned this
21:40he was already
21:41miles in
21:42surrounded by
21:43thick woodland
21:44with no quick
21:44way out.
21:45The canopy above
21:46trapping sound
21:47in a way that
21:48made every echo
21:49feel closer.
21:50As if that
21:50wasn't enough
21:51the hunter
21:52added that
21:52poachers had
21:53been spotted
21:54recently.
21:55Operating after
21:55dark and without
21:56regard for
21:57posted regulations.
21:58The detail chilled
21:59him more than
22:00he expected.
22:01The thought of
22:01armed unpredictable
22:02strangers moving
22:03silently through the
22:04same woods was a
22:05far more pressing
22:06danger than any
22:07wild animal.
22:08Suddenly the
22:09scattered gunshots
22:10from earlier weren't
22:11just background noise.
22:13They were a reminder
22:13that he had stumbled
22:14straight into one of
22:15the worst possible
22:16times and places to
22:17be alone in the
22:18outdoors.
22:32Water source.
22:33Handy to know.
22:35I just came up
22:36out of the woods
22:36bumped into a
22:37hunter that was
22:38walking past and
22:39he said how long
22:40have you been up
22:41here?
22:42I was like I'm up
22:44here a while now
22:44you know.
22:45He said did you
22:46not see the signs
22:46on the way in?
22:48I said what
22:49signs?
22:51So they
22:52obviously have
22:52signs on the
22:54entrance to the
22:54trail that I
22:55didn't see.
22:57And yeah he
22:58basically just said
22:59for the next few
23:00months during
23:01hunting season
23:02they're going to
23:03be up here
23:03culling deer.
23:05And you know
23:07it's not the
23:07safest place to
23:08be.
23:09Plus he said
23:09they found
23:10evidence of
23:12poachers being
23:13up here.
23:14So they're out
23:14here hunting at
23:15night time.
23:16And them
23:16boys there
23:17have to be
23:17out of here
23:18by 11 o'clock
23:19in the morning
23:19unless they
23:20fell a deer
23:21and then they
23:21have all day
23:22to extract it.
23:23So it's
23:24just a risk
23:26coming up to
23:27any of those
23:28spots that I'm
23:29after finding.
23:30In fairness
23:30I don't know
23:32how I missed
23:32that this
23:32morning.
23:33Even with the
23:34new information
23:35weighing on him
23:36the YouTuber
23:37kept his
23:37composure
23:38resisting any
23:39urge to rush
23:39or panic.
23:40Instead he
23:41began carefully
23:41retracing his
23:42route.
23:43Scanning the
23:43terrain for
23:44the safest
23:44way back
23:45toward the
23:46main trail.
23:47The forest
23:47was quieter
23:47now though
23:48each crack
23:49of a branch
23:50or distant
23:50rustle made
23:51him more
23:52aware of how
23:52alone he
23:53truly was.
23:55Nothing
23:55overtly
23:56frightening
23:56occurred on
23:57the return
23:58hike.
23:58Yet the
23:59encounter
23:59left him
24:00thinking about
24:00just how
24:01easily a
24:02peaceful day
24:02outdoors
24:03could turn
24:04into something
24:05far more
24:05dangerous.
24:06The situation
24:07underscored the
24:07value of
24:08preparation,
24:09situational
24:09awareness,
24:10and knowing
24:11when to
24:12turn back
24:12before pushing
24:13too far
24:14into the
24:14unknown.
24:15In the
24:15closing moments
24:16of the
24:16video,
24:17he reflected
24:18that without
24:18meeting that
24:19lone hunter,
24:20he might never
24:20have realized
24:21the risk he'd
24:22been in at
24:22all.
24:23It wasn't a
24:23loud or
24:24sensational
24:24story,
24:25and that
24:25quiet,
24:26creeping
24:26realization
24:27was exactly
24:28what made
24:29it so
24:29unsettling.
24:31Known for
24:31pursuing some
24:32of the UK's
24:33most haunted
24:34and abandoned
24:34locations,
24:35the team
24:36from Ghost
24:36Theory set
24:37their sights on
24:37the Welsh
24:38countryside for
24:39their latest
24:40investigation.
24:41Their destination
24:41was a centuries-old
24:43Great End 2,
24:44listed mansion,
24:45a property layered
24:46with history and
24:47wrapped in an air
24:48of mystery.
24:49They arrived just
24:49as the summer sun
24:50began to sink,
24:51its last light
24:52spilling across
24:53the sprawling
24:53estate.
24:54Moving slowly
24:55and deliberately,
24:56they kept to
24:56the shadows,
24:57mindful of the
24:58security cameras
24:59mounted at key
25:00vantage points.
25:01The grounds were
25:01overgrown,
25:02the smell of wild
25:03grass and damp
25:04earth mixing with
25:05the faint scent of
25:05aging stone.
25:07A chance meeting,
25:08with a local
25:08added intrigue.
25:10The mansion,
25:10he claimed,
25:11had been occupied
25:12only six months
25:13earlier by the
25:13owner's daughter.
25:14Now it stood
25:15deserted,
25:16its tall windows
25:17dark and hollow,
25:18watching silently
25:19as the evening
25:20closed in.
25:21Hello and welcome
25:22to Ghost Theory.
25:22In this episode,
25:23we investigate
25:24inside a grade 2
25:25listed mansion
25:25in the Welsh
25:26countryside.
25:27Now we haven't
25:27actually heard
25:28any ghost stories
25:28about this place,
25:29but the fact that
25:29it's 200 years old
25:30made us wonder
25:31if it was haunted,
25:32so we went to go
25:32and check it out
25:33for ourselves.
25:34We are currently
25:35outside of a
25:35massive mansion,
25:36quite frankly.
25:37Well, the state
25:38of the mansion,
25:39which means,
25:40we're not actually
25:40outside the mansion,
25:41but basically the
25:43estate's just there
25:44and then there's
25:44a mansion in the
25:45estate.
25:45It is an estate,
25:46yeah.
25:46But yeah,
25:47and the estate
25:48is in a state
25:49as well.
25:50It's in a
25:50head of the
25:50estate.
25:51And we've
25:51actually just
25:51spoken to a
25:52local,
25:52which is
25:53something that
25:53rarely ever
25:54happens,
25:54quite frankly,
25:55when we come
25:55across people,
25:56they tell us
25:56to piss off.
25:57Yeah.
25:57And we just
25:58come across,
25:58we park pretty
25:59much next to us
25:59taking dogs for
26:00a walk and
26:00weather,
26:01and he's
26:01actually told us
26:02how to get in
26:03there,
26:07it's genuinely
26:08helpful,
26:08because I think
26:09we were going
26:09to get seen
26:10because of the
26:10cameras,
26:11and this apparently
26:12was lived in
26:12six months ago
26:13by the daughter
26:14of the person
26:15who still owns it.
26:16So,
26:17but that's empty
26:17now,
26:18so he thinks
26:18it's got nothing
26:18to do with them,
26:19so they might
26:20not be interested
26:20that we're here
26:21anyway.
26:21Yeah.
26:22We then made
26:22our way across
26:23the land,
26:24dodging security
26:24cameras in a
26:25mid-summer sunset,
26:26which gave us
26:27a cinematic view
26:28of the mansion.
26:30Slipping inside
26:30through a narrow
26:31hidden entrance,
26:32tucked beside an
26:33old garage and
26:34bunker,
26:35the team stepped
26:35into what had
26:36once been
26:37a grand estate
26:38now clearly
26:39in decline.
26:40The change in
26:40atmosphere was
26:41instant.
26:42The warm air
26:42outside,
26:43replaced by a
26:44cold,
26:44heavy stillness
26:45that seemed
26:46to press in
26:47from all sides.
26:48Spent shotgun
26:49shells lay
26:49scattered across
26:50the floor,
26:51and a single
26:51light burned
26:52inexplicably in
26:54an otherwise
26:54darkened
26:55building,
26:56casting uneasy
26:56shadows along
26:57the walls.
26:58It was enough
26:59to make them
26:59question whether
27:00the mansion
27:01was truly
27:01abandoned.
27:02Venturing
27:03further,
27:03the scale
27:04of the decay
27:05came into view.
27:05vast rooms
27:07with peeling
27:07walls and
27:08sagging ceilings,
27:10chandeliers still
27:11hanging but
27:11swaying slightly,
27:13as if disturbed,
27:14and strange
27:15objects left
27:15behind,
27:16like a lone
27:17clock resting
27:18on the bare
27:18floor.
27:19In some areas,
27:20the floorboards
27:20had been ripped
27:21away,
27:22likely the work
27:22of copper
27:23thieves,
27:24leaving jagged
27:24gaps underfoot.
27:26In the lower
27:26levels,
27:27a maze of
27:28narrow tunnels
27:28and concealed
27:29corridors hinted
27:30at a far more
27:31complex and
27:32secretive history
27:33than the empty
27:34halls first
27:34suggested.
27:36What I find
27:36quite weird
27:36is all the
27:37little bits
27:37and bobs
27:38actually still
27:38left in here,
27:39considering how
27:39long this has
27:40been abandoned.
27:41Yeah.
27:43And this has
27:44always just
27:44been a mansion
27:46house,
27:46as far as I know.
27:48Why is there
27:48just a clock
27:49in the middle
27:49of the floor?
27:50Oh,
27:50it's strange.
27:52Where do we
27:52look first?
27:53Um,
27:53in this house.
27:55We're doing it.
27:57What is that?
27:58Oh my god,
28:00this place is
28:00actually quite
28:01horrendous,
28:01isn't it?
28:03Oh.
28:07Seriously?
28:08There's shotgun
28:09shells on the
28:10floor that look
28:10quite new
28:10and there's a
28:11light on.
28:16Oh.
28:22Hmm.
28:28suddenly have
28:32got a really
28:32bad reload.
28:54Oh,
28:54the floor's
28:55gone.
28:58just got bad
28:58for you.
28:59Yeah.
29:01Obviously.
29:02How can a place
29:03this old
29:04and this abandoned
29:06just have lights
29:06on?
29:08Among the more
29:08unsettling finds
29:09was a room
29:10that bore
29:11clear signs
29:12of recent,
29:13if temporary,
29:14habitation.
29:15Rugs had been
29:15deliberately placed
29:16to cover parts
29:17of the bare floor,
29:19and piles of
29:19clothing were
29:20stacked neatly
29:20in the corners,
29:22as though someone
29:22had been living
29:23there in secret.
29:24Lying among
29:25the exposed floor
29:26boards was a
29:26crowbar,
29:27likely the same
29:28tool used to pry
29:29up sections
29:29of the house
29:30elsewhere.
29:31Stranger still,
29:32a spotless ladder
29:34stood positioned
29:35directly beneath
29:36an open ceiling
29:37panel,
29:37an invitation to
29:38climb into
29:39whatever space
29:40lay above.
29:40The arrangement
29:41didn't suggest
29:42repair work
29:42or restoration.
29:43Instead,
29:44it felt deliberate.
29:45A setup meant
29:46for watching,
29:47hiding,
29:48or escaping
29:48unseen.
29:50Hello?
29:50Hello?
29:50Hello?
29:50Hello?
29:50Hello?
29:50Hello?
29:50Hello?
29:50Hello?
29:50Hello?
29:51Hello?
29:52Hello?
29:52Hello?
29:52Hello?
29:53Hello?
29:53Hello?
29:54Hello?
29:55What?
29:56Hi?
29:57Hello?
29:58Hello?
29:59Yeah, that is, it's not been used for a while though, yeah, yeah, that hasn't been used
30:16though, not for a while, so, huh, what the hell, I was not expecting to see, the windows
30:28open, it's got blood all over it as well, by the looks of it, yeah, fresh air, what, Pandora,
30:39hmm, they're like quite modern, there's keys in there, yeah, I didn't know Pandora sold
30:49keys, it opens Pandora's box, and look, they even set up the ladder in case they wanted
30:57to like, wrestle, go up to the ceiling and hide from people, because you wouldn't look
31:03down here, you wouldn't look up there, would you?
31:06Tucked into one corner, what looked like an ordinary set of drawers revealed something
31:09far stranger, inside were keys, neatly labeled boxes, and files containing official looking
31:15documents, mixed in among them were other containers that seemed hastily thrown together, as if
31:21someone had packed in a rush with no time to sort their belongings, against one wall, a
31:26television was still mounted, and an entire shelf was crammed with horror DVDs, including
31:32the complete Saw franchise, their spines lined up in perfect order, the combination of deliberate
31:38organization and abrupt abandonment gave the place an unnerving quality, it wasn't just
31:44an empty building left to decay, it felt like a fractured timeline, a snapshot of lives abruptly
31:49cut short, or forced to move on without warning.
31:51The stuff in here is much more modern too, so I'm not going to show the information on
31:59here, but this is for Riola Lodge, 2020.
32:05So that would be, yeah, Lodge is probably the thing at the end of the road.
32:09It's weird to have it in here though, because it's been abandoned for way, since way before
32:132020.
32:14This has, yeah, but the Lodge was abandoned six months ago, so maybe she just dragged some
32:19stuff up here to get rid of it.
32:21And a sky dish.
32:22I know.
32:23A sky dish.
32:24This is odd.
32:25I cannot figure this out at all.
32:27Is that Saw?
32:30The entire collection of Saw.
32:32There's a lot of pills.
32:34There is, yeah.
32:35There's a lot of pills.
32:36I don't understand this, because if this has been abandoned, like since that guy was
32:42a child, but they've got things set up that they can watch.
32:46Yeah.
32:47And it's modern stuff, like Orange is the New Black is...
32:50That's modern, it's Blu-ray.
32:52Yeah.
32:53One step deeper inside, the mansion revealed itself as less of a home and more of a labyrinth.
32:58Narrow, concealed corridors fed into forgotten rooms, cluttered with debris, and mismatched
33:03remnants from different decades.
33:04It was impossible to tell where one attempt at renovation had stopped, and another had
33:09begun.
33:10Or if any of them had ever been finished at all.
33:12Some spaces were thick with dust, untouched for what felt like generations, while others
33:17showed fresh signs of recent presence.
33:19A moved chair, a clean patch on the floor, a door left ajar.
33:22The most unsettling part wasn't the peeling paint, or the creak of unstable floorboards,
33:27but the persistent sense of being observed.
33:29It wasn't the cold, distant kind of fear tied to ghost stories, but the immediate animal-level
33:34awareness, that someone could be there, unseen, using the mansion's shadows and winding halls
33:41not as shelter, but as cover.
33:42The weight of that possibility seemed to press in on them with every echoing step.
33:46Did we go further on?
33:47Yeah.
33:48Uh huh.
33:49So in this next part, I went through the hole on my own because I thought it was just going
33:53to be another room or two.
33:55But then after exploring this place for about five or ten minutes, I discovered that it was
34:01way bigger than I first realised.
34:03So I went back to get Joe.
34:05Joe.
34:06It's just too big for you not to come and have a look because I'm going to get lost for
34:09an hour, eh?
34:12This looks safe.
34:18It was this bit here that really, really gets me.
34:23Because this, so yeah, this is used by 2021.
34:29But it's all, it's quite, look how modern that is.
34:32In some ways, like modern, but.
34:34Yeah.
34:35It's been updated, isn't it?
34:36Yeah.
34:37And you have got the stairs that go down here.
34:41What the hell?
34:43Yeah, I know.
34:45Although there were no undeniable flashes of paranormal activity, the atmosphere inside
34:50left the team shaken.
34:51Every hallway carried a collision of timelines.
34:54Antique fixtures, layered with dust, stood alongside modern electronics that looked like
34:59they'd been used only yesterday.
35:01Boxes of personal belongings sat half open, clothes folded neatly inside, as if their owner
35:06planned to return at any moment.
35:08In other rooms, the decay was so advanced that stepping too far risked breaking through
35:13the floor.
35:14The most unnerving detail was the clear suggestion that someone might still be here.
35:18A recently moved chair, footprints in a patch of dust, a door that hadn't been open moments
35:23earlier.
35:24All small things, but enough to sharpen every instinct.
35:28The fear came not from the possibility of spirits, but from the far more grounded thought
35:32that someone was watching from the shadows, quietly keeping track of their every move.
35:37By the time they left, it was clear this mansion didn't need a ghost story to feel haunted.
35:42It was haunted already, by the unsettling presence of the living.
35:46Well outside the reach of city lights, the cursed urban channel, hosted by Dan, has built its
35:52reputation on steady, no-nonsense explorations of haunted sites and paranormal hotspots.
35:58Over time, he's cultivated a loyal audience drawn to his calm, measured style, which often
36:03contrasts sharply with the high drama approach of similar channels.
36:07One recurring location in his work is a patch of wilderness he calls the Skinwalker Forest,
36:13an area tied to strange sightings and unexplained sounds.
36:16In his latest upload, the focus shifts to a small, weathered outpost on a friend's remote
36:21property, a place where previous visits have brought encounters that seem to be intensifying.
36:26This time, Dan wasn't arriving with a tightly planned investigation in mind.
36:31Instead, his goal was simple, grill some food, stay the night, and keep the cameras rolling.
36:37The open-ended approach made whatever might occur feel all the more authentic, as if the night
36:42itself would decide what kind of story it wanted to tell.
36:45Anyways, guys, now the formalities are out of the way.
36:49Again, it's good to see you all.
36:50I am back here in the Skinwalker Forest at my outpost.
36:55Not really doing too much tonight, not really doing too much cleaning tonight.
36:58Just going to chill out, grill, do some investigation, and kind of continue on the experience that
37:05I had last time where I was touched by an entity right over there as I was enjoying the fire.
37:13So, I'm looking forward to it.
37:15But first, we've got to get a fire going to get some of these mosquitoes away and get the
37:20tent set up and just kind of get dug in.
37:23I need to get the fire set up quick, though, because I want to use some of the coals to grill
37:27with my little grill and make some hot dogs tonight.
37:31That's what's for dinner, hot dogs.
37:34Of course, the pillar of, one of the two pillars, other being hamburgers, of campfire food or outdoor food.
37:43So, let's get this fire started and let's get this, actually let's get this tent up first so I actually can make some space, store some stuff inside.
37:51Then we'll get the fire going and get dug in and see what tonight brings.
37:57While pitching his tent, Dan recalls a moment from a past visit when he felt an unmistakable touch on the back of his neck.
38:04Something unseen and unexplainable.
38:06He brushes off the memory with a steady tone, focusing on routine tasks like gathering wood, building a fire, and preparing dinner.
38:14But the tension is there in the way he moves and glances toward the tree line.
38:19The forest is quiet, almost too quiet, until the first sparks of the fire take hold.
38:24Then it happens.
38:25A deep, guttural growl erupts from somewhere just beyond the reach of the light.
38:30The sound is loud enough to cut through the night air and rattle his composure, if only for a moment.
38:35The microphone captures it perfectly.
38:38Low, resonant, and disturbingly close.
38:41It doesn't match the cry of a coyote, the bark of a dog, or any familiar wildlife.
38:46Leaving the unsettling impression that whatever made it was both large and uncomfortably near.
38:54What was that?
38:56It sounded like a...
38:58It sounded like a panting, almost.
39:05Hello?
39:06It sounded like a dog panting back there like...
39:08It sounded like it came from right behind me, but then after that I didn't hear anything.
39:22Strange, but whatever.
39:29Oh man.
39:34So...
39:36What other news do we have to share with Cursed Urban News Time?
39:40I don't know.
39:41I'll think of something here soon.
39:43As the night wears on, the tension builds in small, deliberate increments.
39:48Beyond the initial growl, faint movements and muffled sounds drift in from the darkness.
39:53Never loud enough to pinpoint, but persistent enough to keep the atmosphere on edge.
39:58Between these moments, Dan reflects on prior visits to this exact location, recalling sightings of shadowy figures and encounters with trespassers who had no reason to be there.
40:09His tone suggests that, while the paranormal possibilities are unsettling, the thought of unpredictable human intruders weighs heavier on his mind.
40:18Staying true to his grounded style, he often turns directly to the camera, explaining his reasoning, walking viewers through his equipment, and outlining plans for future upgrades.
40:28This casual, methodical commentary doesn't break the tension.
40:32It sharpens it.
40:33Because it makes every unexplained sound feel like part of a very real and unfolding situation.
40:38I like to get everything set up, and then just relax for a second, give you guys an update before we start the investigations.
40:53So, update is, I officially, finally, have my RV road ready.
41:00So, for those of you who haven't heard, I have a smaller travel trailer, I think it's a 19 foot, older, 99 Coachman, I think.
41:14Yeah, and it's in a state of somewhat disrepair.
41:21But, I have fixed it.
41:23I've got the bathroom ceilings up.
41:25I'm about to reinstall the lights in the bathroom.
41:28Some trim pieces.
41:30The front part of the RV in the bedroom is going to be a nightmare.
41:34But, it's good enough that I feel comfortable with taking it out on the road.
41:39So, well, as comfortable as I'm going to feel taking it out on the road.
41:44So, the next video you will see will be our first of hopefully a few RV camping videos.
41:51At one point, Dan talks about his plans to expand his campsite, a larger tent, maybe even a more permanent shelter, so he can keep working through the winter.
42:01But, even in these casual moments, there's an undercurrent he never fully shakes.
42:06The sense that eyes are on him.
42:08He jokes that the spiders and mosquitoes aren't nearly as concerning as whatever else might be lurking just beyond the firelight.
42:14Yet, the way he glances into the trees between sentences tells its own story.
42:19As the flames crackle and he begins preparing his meal, the night seems to close in.
42:24The darkness behind him feeling heavier than before.
42:27His voice remains steady, but there's a subtle tension in it.
42:30The kind that comes from being hyper aware of every rustle, every shift in the air.
42:35Given his earlier account of something unseen physically touching him here, the unease doesn't feel exaggerated.
42:42It feels like a quiet acknowledgement that this place has already crossed boundaries once, and could do so again without warning.
42:49Last time, as I said, we, I think, had some sort of entity here named Victoria.
43:01We were on Spirit Talker.
43:03They identified themselves as Victoria.
43:06And it said something about, like, I will touch you or I will touch your hair, I believe it was.
43:11Which, I mean, you know, I don't have a head of hair, but...
43:16If you're still watching, comment the hidden word, creepy.
43:19Pretty much exactly where I am now.
43:21And I felt, as soon as I sat down, I felt somebody, like, brush the back of their fingers across my neck.
43:30Like, I, like, that's identical.
43:32Like, if you took your fingers and brushed them across your neck, that's exactly what it felt like.
43:38And, uh, yeah, so I'm gonna see if, if maybe, um, maybe we have any, any luck and have something like that happen again.
43:55When the recording winds down, nothing bursts out of the dark, and no grand explanation is offered.
44:00Yet that's exactly why the ending feels heavier.
44:03The uncertainty sticks.
44:04Gnawing at the edges of every sound and shadow from earlier in the night.
44:08Was the source of the growl in cinema?
44:10A person?
44:11Or something?
44:12Stranger altogether?
44:13Could it have been imagined?
44:15Or was it simply too close to ignore?
44:17Dan never tries to force a conclusion, leaving the experience open-ended and uneasy.
44:22It's this refusal to tie things up neatly that makes the footage linger in the mind.
44:26His style walks a fine line between casual outdoor content and raw paranormal fieldwork.
44:32And here he leans into the dread of open spaces turning into traps.
44:36In the dying glow of the fire, surrounded by darkness that feels almost physical, the real chill comes from knowing the forest holds its secrets, and that some of them choose to stay hidden.
44:46St guessing isatie was God.
