What makes an accent "friendly"? In this video, Ivy shares her thoughts on a recent study that named the Southern accent the friendliest in the U.S. She dives into why people might think that and talks about just how many accents there really are in the region.
00:00Apparently a study was just done that came out and said that the friendliest accent out there was the southern accent.
00:06Now that is not a shock or a surprise to any southerner.
00:10But what might come as a shock to these surveyors is that there's more than one southern accent.
00:16Somebody from Atlanta, from Louisiana, South Carolina, they're not sounding the same.
00:21I'm from South Georgia.
00:22People from North Georgia, completely different.
00:24I feel like the reason why people think that the southern accent sounds the friendliest is because we're known for southern hospitality.
00:32So when they hear the southern accent, they immediately think friendliness, nice, happy.
00:37So thank you to Answering Service Care who did this survey and put this information out to the world.
00:43So I would love to know, where are you from, what kind of accent do you have, and do you think your version of the southern accent sounds the most friendly?
