01:12Earlier today, around 1,700 students received their electronic mamamayan identification cards or Emmy cards, functioning as both ID and debit cards.
01:23No need for long lines, paperwork or waiting around because the new system sends funds directly to students' accounts, similar to an employee's direct deposit account from payroll.
01:35Mayor Emi Calixto also reassured that those without a mobile phone or internet are still in good hands.
