00:00So sometimes pawns could be destructions because they block your own king from approaching the key side of the battlefield.

00:15But I think that's enough. We'll talk a little bit more about it in the case studies.

00:19There'll be some very interesting positions that we'll study separately and we'll taste your knowledge and what you've learned

00:28throughout this very quick tour on the pawns' endgames.

00:34And now we move to a few other endgames.

00:43Rooks' endgames, probably the most common endgames, happens all the time.

00:50And many of these endgames with multiple pawns,

00:54they're yet to be determined whether one side is winning or not.

01:02We don't want to go too much in analyzing some specific positions.

01:08Again, we look at some rules, some patterns that is important to remember

01:13while playing this Rooks' endgames.

01:18For instance, one of the positions, if you have this knight pawn and you are reaching the seventh rank

01:31and your opponent is trying to block you

01:36by cutting your king from H-file.

01:45So how are you going to escape

01:46from G8 and advance the pawn?

01:50Because after Kf7, there's all a check.

01:52Rook always will check you.

01:54So there's the method called the bridge.

01:57The bridge on the fourth rank.

01:59You put the rook on the fourth rank.
