A video posted by Ukrainian model and influencer Anna Malygon on Instagram has moved millions of people around the world. Featuring powerful and personal footage, she shows the places from her childhood in Kharkiv — all now destroyed by war.
Anna was born in Kharkiv, one of the cities most heavily affected by the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia. Now living in France, where she studies film, the young woman returned to her hometown to document the harsh reality she found.
In the video, published on 11 June and already surpassing 1.6 million likes, Anna walks through ruins and devastated landmarks in the city, calmly repeating a simple yet powerful phrase: "I am Ukrainian, and this is my church" "I am Ukrainian, and this is my school" "I am Ukrainian, and this is my car" "I am Ukrainian, and this is my bridge" "I am Ukrainian, and this is my petrol station"
Her calm narration contrasts sharply with the visible destruction, creating a deep emotional impact. The video quickly went viral, sparking waves of support and solidarity from followers across the globe.
