Paul Rodriguez Says He's Not on Drugs, Only Helping Friends Who Are Addicted

Paul Rodriguez is making it clear to us he's clean -- but admits that heartbreakingly, his home’s turned into a refuge for addicts.

00:00there's been a lot going on you know in your world lately it's been a busy it's

00:06been a busy year okay you know I wanted to talk to you you know there was the

00:10incident with your friend at your house yeah and then there was this thing with

00:15you being pulled over and your friend having you know narcotics on him yes can

00:19I ask you like what's going on there well you know I have a lot of friends

00:24who have addictions and I try to open my house to help them and of course when

00:31you do that you also receive the problems you know but I'm a true friend

00:38and I try to help them through their problems I don't preach to them about

00:42their addictions I've never been at and that's a choice myself but I am I feel

00:48for them you know and I've lost a lot of friends to fentanyl and to all that's

00:54that's going on and breaks my heart not only to see them homeless but with the

01:00unbelievable weight on their shoulders of their own of their addiction and so

01:05the consequences of that all right the fact that your name is tough also a

01:10tainted yeah with that association but I am but my life is an open book and I

01:18myself am free of any kind of addiction you know I

01:22I feel for them and like I said um you know there's very few places where people

01:29can get help you know so I try to help them

01:33so just to clear it up there's nothing more to it other than you helping your

01:37friends absolutely that's a little bit you know I've had several friends who

01:42have fallen to that addiction and and they don't stop being my friends because they have problems

01:47as well so but I myself up and the grace of God up I'm not a not involved or

01:53addicted to any kind of drug other than whatever medical has given me for my heart

01:57you know yeah so you just invite them into your home to help them out and you said

02:02you know when you help them out your name is attached to that as well so yes but

02:06what are my options when you really need a friend you know and I've lost several of

02:12them and I'll continue to do so because unfortunately we live in a city that has very few facilities

02:22you know and we're going through a tremendous plague and they don't seem to get attention you know
