Speaking to reporters at JBA, President Trump was asked about his use of the word, "Shylocks."
Transcript
00:00A couple weeks ago, you said that you were on the cusp of a historic settlement with Harvard University.
00:05What's changed since then? Do you think you're closer to an agreement, or do you think Columbia could go for it?
00:09I think we're going to probably settle with Harvard. We're going to probably settle with Columbia.
00:14They want to settle very badly. There's no rush. A lot of money.
00:19Mr. President, I wanted to ask you about one of the words you used during your speech, Shylocks.
00:24That's widely viewed as an anti-Semitic phrase.
00:27Do you intend for that word to be used?
00:30No, I've never heard it that way. To me, Shylock is somebody that's a money lender at high rates.
00:36I've never heard it that way. You view it differently than me. I've never heard that.
00:43Go ahead. Anything else?
