Imphal (Manipur), July 04 2025 (ANI): Manipur Police foiled a major attack bid and recovered a cache of arms. Speaking about the operation, Lhari Dorjee Lhatoo, ADGP Manipur said, “This is to update on major recovery of arms and ammunition by Manipur police, SM rifles, army. and other security forces. From the midnight of 3rd July to the morning of 4th July 2025, security forces conducted extensive search operations in the hill districts of Manipur. Acting on specific intelligence regarding the presence of a large cache of arms, ammunition, and other warlike items concealed in various locations, coordinated operations were launched simultaneously at multiple sites in the interior and suspected areas of Tengopal, Kangpopi, Chand. And Churachandpur districts by joint teams of Manipur police, Assam rifles, army, and CAPFs. These operations resulted in the recovery of following arms, ammunition, explosives, and other warlike stores. The list of weapons recovered ISAS rifles 21, AK series rifles 11, SLR 26, sniper rifles, 2. Carbines 3. 33 rifles 1751 mm mortars 2, MA assault rifles 2, M79 grenade launchers 3, rifle with scope 1, single shot breech loaded rifles 18, single barrel bolt action rifles, 11. Pistols, 93 country made 0.22 rifle. One Litho guns 31 country made, single bore guns, 31, 6 country made, muzzle loaded rifles 4, and Pompeys 38. The total weapons recovered are 203.”
