Transcript
00:00I yield one minute to the gentlelady from Oregon, Ms. Salinas.
00:05Gentleladies, recognized for one minute.
00:07Mr. Speaker, with this bill, my Republican colleagues are betraying the American people.
00:12In the dark of mourning, they're trying to ram through legislation that will raise costs, strip away health care,
00:17take food off the table of working families, and increase energy costs for all Americans,
00:22all to give tax breaks to billionaires and corporations.
00:25Cuts to Medicaid will shutter rural hospitals, nursing homes, and health centers,
00:30leaving families with higher costs and nowhere to turn for care.
00:34As millions of families are right now struggling to put food on the table,
00:37this bill cuts funding for nutrition assistance, forcing children, veterans, and seniors to go hungry.
00:44And this bill raises costs on everything from energy bills to prescription medications.
00:50This bill is a grave mistake.
00:52If it passes, my Republican colleagues may pay for it at the ballot box,
00:56but countless Americans will pay for it with their lives.
01:01I urge my colleagues to have the moral courage to oppose this bill.
01:05I yield back.
01:06Gentlelady yields.
01:07Gentleman from Missouri.
