Newport Show, operations in full flow as the date is near

We catch up with the organisers of the Newport Show to find out what people can expect for 2025.

00:00So it's that time of year again we're here at Newport and getting ready for the Newport show

00:03and the president this year is... David Jones. Hello sir. How's preparations going? All good

00:09thank you. It's a well-oiled machine isn't it by now I mean it just everything just slots into

00:13place yeah? It is these guys are in charge so that's that's why it's so well organized. Cool

00:17and we've got some dogs here you are a dog friendly festival aren't you? Yes we are of course.

00:24So what can people expect at this year's Newport show if people haven't been in here before just

00:29give us a bit a bit of a brief rundown as to what goes on? Lots of activities, a fun day out for the

00:35family, Lancaster bomber flying over, celebrity chefs, Bob champion coming with the Shetland Pony Grand

00:45National, lots of activities and great food and a great day out and it looks like it's going to be

00:49great weather as well. Awesome work thank you sir and ladies how are you doing so you're kind of

00:54the gang behind the scenes putting the show together? We are, we're the dream team. The dream team

00:59I like it like any particular highlights of the show that you you kind of enjoy standing back and

01:04watching yourselves? I like it first thing in the morning when all the cattle and the sheep have

01:08arrived and you can hear them mooing yeah great atmosphere and it's just the show going is quiet

01:15but it's all set up ready to go really. Yeah you have a lovely display of different all different

01:19kinds of cattle and curly horns and all this kind of stuff going on don't you? Yeah what about you

01:24ladies anyone interested in the cooking tent then? Absolutely the cooking tent is amazing the

01:29festival of food area in particular um watching it all the people come and eat the good food that

01:36we have different varieties um the cooking demos and the celebrity chefs it's it's a fantastic atmosphere

01:44cool and when you have a previous years I've seen like there's been a bit of a display vintage tractors

01:49and that kind of stuff you have some of those going on again yeah? Over 70 vintage tractors and this

01:54year's theme is um 100 years of caterpillar there'll be some caterpillars going around the showground

02:00yeah um so yeah always a favorite actually and the arena's just like full on entertainment isn't

02:07it really from when you're open to when you're finished different displays and stuff going on

02:17and then where's Pippa? Pippa's punching the treats behind. She's found the treats so get yourselves
