00:00good morning my name is we are on group arts editor at sussex newspapers lovely this morning

00:06to speak to jeanette manrara who is fulfilling a life held ambition aren't you you are on stage on

00:13tour your first ever big musical and it's the one you want at chicago now in our area you're doing

00:18eastbourne july the 7th to july the 12th and you're doing the crawley's horse 11th of august to 11th

00:25of 16th of august so why now and why chicago why was that so special and so much part of the dream

00:34oh gosh well i think it's because since i was a little girl i i love performing and i started in

00:40musical theater first so i did chorus line and cats and west side story and then as i got older because

00:47obviously the storyline of chicago is a little bit more intense when i got a little bit older i did

00:52chicago and i remember thinking oh i love the dancing i love the story it's two women that are

00:59the leads in it and you know they're anything but perfect kind of women and i thought if i could

01:05one day do that musical it would be a real big dream come true so yeah i still pinch myself when

01:11i'm on stage doing the show every night right before i go on i've got this like buzz and excitement

01:16in my belly because it is it's a lifelong dream come true it's living up to those expectations then

01:22yeah oh more than more than in so many ways because not only is the woman that plays velma

01:28also a mother we are the same age so we have we just feel like two super moms making our families

01:34proud on stage every night but besides that i've become such incredible friends with the whole cast

01:39and the gentleman that plays a miss joshua lloyd and um miss sunshine who's played by jordan lee davis

01:46these are also my closest friends now for life because they've been so supportive and so welcoming

01:52to me i mean this is my first ever musical and they're constantly you know checking in on me being

01:58there for me just guiding me through the whole cast honestly i feel very fortunate they say that the

02:04people you work with is what makes the job and yes chicago is incredible and the music is amazing

02:09and it's like i said one of my favorite musicals of all time but on i think i'm very lucky that i get

02:14to do with this specific group of people because they are they are fabulous all of them absolutely

02:18and to start with your favorite news cook as you're saying what you do yes i don't know yeah i think i

02:24peaked too soon i don't know i mean i've i also love cabaret and i really love the way that it's been

02:32reimagined and a million miles away is it yeah so we'll see but i don't know i mean my my other

02:38favorite musical is west side story but uh we'll see we'll see i i'm just at the moment really
