Amazing Cleans S01E01 (27th June 27 2022)
Transcript
00:00In every corner of the country...
00:04I don't think it's ever been clean, to be honest.
00:06Grime and Muck are making mugs of us.
00:09It's a bit whiffy.
00:10This is well dodged.
00:12They're looking to take over, and it's time that something was done.
00:16This is rank.
00:18Just some of the things we've aimed.
00:20Toilet.
00:21That nice.
00:22Meet the fearless few...
00:24Woo!
00:25...on the front line of Fighting Phil.
00:28It's probably my favourite part of the whole job.
00:30Smells pretty rotten.
00:32Reminds me of Friday night's curry, this.
00:35They're battling bacteria.
00:37The clients ring up saying they've been sick in their car,
00:40and I wouldn't have it any other way, you know.
00:42The grease is too tough.
00:44Look at that, beautiful.
00:45And seeing off slime...
00:47It's a dirty job, but someone's got to do it.
00:49...with their amazing cleans.
00:53Amazing cleans.
00:58This time, we ask, what could be more disgusting
01:01than you, the general public?
01:03One person that makes the best, but you times that
01:05by 100,000 people in a day.
01:07That all adds up.
01:09We meet the monumental heroes,
01:12giving the dearly departed a deep clean.
01:15I've not actually cleaned one this big before.
01:17It must be about ten foot.
01:19This is up there with some of the worst.
01:21Yeah, definitely.
01:22And beware the dreaded curse of the black spot.
01:27I absolutely hate black spots.
01:29It is my mortal enemy.
01:31Our first stop in this celebration of dirt slaying is London.
01:38A city with nine million of the most revolting people on the planet.
01:44Nine million people who would think nothing of going into a public toilet,
01:49lying on the floor and doing a snow angel.
01:52Just ask the unsung heroes of South Western Railway's night shift.
01:57It takes at least five of them to deep clean one mucky train carriage
02:02after you've been in it.
02:04Twelve trains, one night.
02:06It's like Ocean's Eleven, except with minging trains instead of casinos.
02:11You may be one person that makes the best,
02:13but you times that by 100,000 people in a day.
02:16That all adds up.
02:17And all this gets worked into the chairs, the seats, the floors.
02:21Meet Big Chase.
02:24I've been doing the job for four years now.
02:27I was made a supervisor after two weeks.
02:30This night in shining neon makes sure the inside of each carriage is spotless,
02:35along with his crack team.
02:37A joy, master venger and dab hand with a vacuum.
02:42And then there's Natalie, who day in, day out, makes every rubbish bin sparkle.
02:49The smell is horrendous.
02:51What these soldiers have seen, sniffed and accidentally got some of it in their mouths
02:56will make you lose your mind and your lunch.
03:00Expect to find drink stains, milkshakes, coffees, food, drink.
03:05Sometimes we get faeces, body fluids.
03:08Sounds like we're in the right place.
03:11Tackling the exterior tonight is Michael.
03:15These heroes are all diving into a deep, deep clean.
03:20Though in Michael's case, not only does he get to scrub the dirt and dead insects from each carriage,
03:29he also gets to play art critic.
03:32I have to remove the graffiti on the trail.
03:35During the summertime, you get them a lot, especially when people are on holidays.
03:40Yeah, some of them are quite attractive, but they were not supposed to be on the trail.
03:47Though in order to keep the actual paintwork safe, Michael can only use the smallest drop of chemicals.
03:54His firepower comes in the form of elbow grease and dogged persistence.
04:03There's many massive tags to remove.
04:06Thanks, kids.
04:07This hero's giving it everything he's got.
04:10One by one, the work of these juvenile Picassos is heading for the drain.
04:15Well, it's gone well.
04:17Even more incredible.
04:19Despite the back-breaking work, Michael's still smiling.
04:23When you get it off, you get the satisfaction of your work.
04:27The final member of this Fantastic Five is Jeff and his ray gun.
04:33This is antiviral spray.
04:35We've got a lot of passengers on our trains and we want to make sure that they are safe.
04:41It's a dream team, but the war rages on against thousands of unspeakable stains.
04:48Find out how these Knights of the Night Shift get on later.
04:52Streets of houses from the air.
04:56People say to me, you really hate filth, don't you?
05:00But I don't hate it. I just don't want it living in my area.
05:04And when it takes over a children's playground, an innocent children's playground,
05:10well then, the grime's gone too far.
05:16Talk about scum.
05:18Blasting through the endless layers of gunk.
05:21It's the legend that is the jet washer to the rescue.
05:26What a transformation.
05:28Cleaning pavements.
05:30This grubby thoroughfare, not actually the colour of fresh manure.
05:36Who knew?
05:38But how about a family barbecue?
05:42Where top of the guest list is Mr and Mrs Putrid Slime.
05:48Think again.
05:50Thanks to this hero, you can party on.
05:54It's sausage time.
05:56Well, let's not mess about people.
06:00We're putting our first line of defence to the ultimate test.
06:04Behold, a rooftop in crisis.
06:10Can our hero shift several tonnes of moss and rancid rotting debris?
06:16You bet your terracotta tiling it can.
06:22This suburban battleground never looks so good.
06:26A wedding venue.
06:30Every year, over half a million Brits say I do.
06:34But when it comes to the photos outside,
06:36watch out for the wedding crashers lovebirds.
06:40Mould, mildew and lichen.
06:44No one invited them, but they've showed up anyway
06:48to drain the free bar and bother the bridesmaids.
06:52Which brings us to this popular spot for nuptials in Bristol.
06:56With a busy wedding season fast approaching,
06:58pro cleaners James and Sam of Inside Out
07:02are on a mission to make its paths pristine again.
07:06Wearing high-vis vests,
07:08the pair inspect a crazy paved path in the venue's grounds.
07:12It is bad, eh?
07:14Yeah.
07:15Bad?
07:16It's Grimsville.
07:17If you don't sort that out, the wedding's off, frankly.
07:20Splodges of lichen up close.
07:22It's absolutely full of lichen.
07:26It's only a bacteria, all right?
07:28This is going to take some doing.
07:30So these boys aren't wasting a nanosecond.
07:33They're getting out their extendable lances,
07:36their turbo nozzles,
07:39and they're firing up the high-powered pressure washer.
07:44A powerful jet of water blasts the paving slabs clean.
07:50It's a fairly big job.
07:52There's a lot of lichen on there.
07:54Algae, bacteria.
07:56So I'm up against it today.
07:59Especially as this garden scum is holding on for dear life.
08:05Because the stone's so porous,
08:07they literally just attach themselves to it,
08:10get absorbed straight in.
08:13But they're no match for this man and his machine.
08:16These nasties are blasted and seen off in style.
08:20That a boy!
08:22It seems these scum-seeing-off superpowers are a family secret.
08:30Cleaning's definitely in my blood,
08:32so I've been taught the right way,
08:34and the only way in my eyes.
08:37He's been doing this a long time,
08:39but one part has driven him to the brink of madness and back.
08:43A form of mould known as Black Spot.
08:47That's pretty much the most stubborn part to come out.
08:53I absolutely hate Black Spot.
08:55It is my mortal enemy.
08:57With the pressure on and a hero in crisis,
09:01the fate of hundreds of newlyweds hangs in the balance.
09:05But James isn't giving up.
09:08Not until this garden path is Black Spotless.
09:12Still to come,
09:15a balcony besieged by muck is transformed.
09:19No, I'm going to get fucked close on personal
09:22with this muck right here.
09:24And these men of motoring go head-to-head
09:27with Britain's filthiest cars.
09:29It has not been washed in months.
09:32It is disgusting.
09:34Welcome back to these filth-fighting festivities.
09:47Back at South Western Railway,
09:49these superstars are dealing with the aftermath
09:52of the world's most minging being,
09:55a London commuter.
09:57Not that Big Jase is complaining.
10:00I've been doing the job for four years now.
10:03What I love about the job, Mike,
10:04is you never know what you're going to get.
10:06Every night is different and it's unpredictable.
10:09Though to free these train carriages
10:12from the shackles of coffee stains,
10:14rancid food and worse,
10:16he's rolling out the ultimate defence,
10:20the duplex.
10:22A steam cleaning machine ready to mangle filth like magic.
10:28With this machine getting up to 150 degrees,
10:32not much grease or grime will stay.
10:35But let's give this baby a real challenge.
10:39Public enemy number one, chewing gum.
10:43Left to its own devices,
10:45it's believed gum can take up to 1,000 years to decompose,
10:49which is how long it takes to get from Cambridge to Hitchin on the 9.13.
10:55Am I right?
10:56But this stuff's gone in seconds.
10:59And there we are, all gone.
11:01That came up pretty easy.
11:02Now I'll be tackling the door tread plate.
11:04This is the most trodden on area.
11:06And I'll be using the brass attachment.
11:08The dreaded dirty door plate is no match for Big Jase.
11:12This champ is blasting it back to beautiful.
11:16So it's coming up really well.
11:17Nearly done with this one.
11:1915 more to go.
11:21Just three stains in.
11:23Fortunately, he's got plenty of backup.
11:26A joy's removing the crud,
11:30ground in by thousands of commuters.
11:33And for the dirt that did actually make it to the bin,
11:38that's Natalie's domain.
11:40As you can see, there's a lot of dirt in there.
11:43Really unclean, so...
11:45Just gonna give it a little touch-up with a special chemical that we use.
11:49Though it's not just the germs
11:51or a half-eaten coronation chicken she's worried about,
11:54the worst thing to come out of these dark spaces...
11:58Spiders!
12:00Just creeping out of the bins
12:02and trying to eat me or something.
12:06Feeling the fear, Nat's doing it anyway.
12:08Nothing gets in the way of sanitising her bins.
12:14Ready for the next 2,000 people.
12:18And once every carriage gets the all clean...
12:21All done.
12:22Jobs are good.
12:23..it's time to bring in Geoff
12:25and his antiviral sprayer or ray gun.
12:29Spraying spores with a chemical slaps them back to the netherworld.
12:33Go get them Geoff!
12:35You spray it, it kills all the bacteria, the virus, whatever, you go on the train.
12:41Even Covid doesn't stand much of a chance against this stuff.
12:45Go on the virus, this will get rid of it.
12:47Geoff, love your work.
12:51A graffiti-doped train.
12:53Shortly after rush hour, this train was awash with filth inside and out.
13:01But now, it's sparkling.
13:05The graffiti's disappeared without a trace.
13:07And those hundreds of unspeakable stains are gone.
13:13All thanks to this Fantastic Five, who'll be back to do it all over again, same time tomorrow.
13:19Amazing Cleans.
13:20There's plenty more to this collection of extreme cleaning triumphs.
13:32Next, in North West London, slap on your sunscreen, the weather's looking up.
13:38But with this minging balcony, it's a case of suns out, scums out.
13:46Overwhelmed with mould, mildew and bird turd, forget catching a few rays.
13:54You're more likely to catch a disease.
13:56A man wearing glasses and a baseball cap.
14:00But saving the landlord's day isn't this brave man.
14:05Hi everyone, good morning.
14:07Paul of Forever Ready Cleaning.
14:10But is he ready for this?
14:12I mean, they haven't cleaned it for a couple of years now.
14:15So, it's got all this mould and green stuff and bird poo and the dirt and the rainfall and everything is just on it.
14:28It's a health hazard in need of a hero.
14:31But as Paul scrapes and scrubs...
14:34Look at the difference already.
14:36Already the two years of filth is heading south.
14:39This is supposed to be the colour.
14:41That's what it was.
14:43When the landlord comes and she sees this, she's gonna wonder if she's on her own balcony or it's the neighbour's balcony.
14:52She won't believe it.
14:54But what's really going to blow her away is Paul's secret formula for annihilating slime and sludge.
15:02Take a dash of vinegar, add a few teaspoons of baking soda, a few drops of rubbing alcohol and mix with warm water.
15:11Now I'm gonna get up close and personal with this muck right here.
15:16He begins scrubbing the decking boards.
15:18While Paul's secret formula isn't so secret anymore, it's a thrill to see it in action.
15:26Sure enough, this homebrew more than lives up to the hype.
15:33As for its creator, he's quite rightly excited about this balcony and a detergent that could change the world.
15:41Oh, I'm telling you something, vinegar and baking soda, it gets all that dirt off as quick as possible.
15:50Vinegar, baking soda, trust.
15:53With our lives, Paul, with our lives.
15:58Just a few hours ago, this dirty balcony covered in mould and bird poop required a hazmat suit.
16:07But now, thanks to Paul's not-so-secret formula, it's a pristine spot, just perfect for sun lounging.
16:15My job here is done now.
16:18What a legend.
16:20Done a good job.
16:22I've cleaned all the fungus, all the mildew, all the bird poop and all the mould.
16:30I keep proving that I'm really good at cleaning.
16:34You're a cleaning king, Paul.
16:37All hail.
16:39From the transformed terrace to filthy cars.
16:44With many of Britain's cars caked in crud and littered with empty crisp packets, these magnificent men of motoring are fighting back.
16:54Take Craig here, known as Specky McSporran Online.
17:00He loves nothing better than getting his hands on mucky vehicles like this one.
17:06It has not been washed in months.
17:08It is disgusting and I can't wait to make it look just that little bit nicer.
17:14Neither can we.
17:15Things are kicking off with a jet wash.
17:19It's followed by more than a dusting of snow foam.
17:22In the prettiest of pink.
17:26And as always, Specky's sticking his brush into this car's every nook and cranny.
17:32The results?
17:34Absolutely dazzling.
17:36Also a big fan of the old snow foam is clean car fanatic, David Walker.
17:42Though today...
17:43I think it's something you need to take a look at.
17:46It's the ultimate hack.
17:47A nail brush worth 50p.
17:49Perfect for a steering wheel covered in food spills.
17:54So this little brush is incredibly versatile.
17:57It even gets your endless muck off the pedals.
18:00And the carpets.
18:02But what about the exterior?
18:05Oh yes, it does the tyres as well.
18:07As you can see, the tyres look beautiful.
18:10Spotless, Dave. Spotless.
18:12Then there's Big John, who likes to give Britain's mankiest cars a full decontamination.
18:22Oh, Jesus.
18:25This one's a total disaster.
18:28Utterly filthy and covered in scratches.
18:31But John's a man with a plan.
18:34Transforming this cool little car back to how it should be.
18:39In a deep clean that takes two days, he's eradicating every piece of filth.
18:46He's even wet sanding to take out those scratches.
18:49And for the grand finale, a polish and buffing this cheeky runabout will never forget.
18:57So what was a mid-sized piece of filth on four dirty wheels is now fully restored to her factory settings.
19:06Whoa! It's like when my auntie Jean got divorced and got a chemical peel.
19:12You'd never known she was 61.
19:17Back in Bristol...
19:21James and Sam are working hard to annihilate the three guests no bride or groom wants crashing their big day.
19:29Mould, mildew and lichen.
19:32Fat-breaking stuff that it's getting there.
19:37The results speak for themselves.
19:40Wowzers!
19:42Before I started, you couldn't tell what colours were actually there.
19:47Now, I think for the place, being a wedding venue, the photos are going to be a big difference with the colours.
19:54The only thing that stands in his path, literally, is the curse of the black spot.
20:01Nine times out of ten, you're going to need chemicals to get them out of.
20:07Fortunately, James came to this fight prepared with a punchy one.
20:12It's an antibacterial. Kills any living organisms.
20:16Sodium hyperchlorite.
20:17Even better, it eradicates the staining.
20:19Black spot's got no chance of surviving this deluge.
20:28Pretty adamant that I'm going to get it back looking as new as I possibly can.
20:34Spoken like a true hero.
20:37And once every molecule of this toxic filth has been drowned in the stuff, it's time to bring back this baby.
20:44For another high-power pressure wash.
20:49Though after hours and hours on the job, James has just two complaints.
20:54Back-breaking work and on-breaking work.
20:57Actually, make that fridge.
20:59Are you home?
21:01Absolutely killing me.
21:02Which is why, at the end of a long, hard day fighting grime, this superhero isn't exactly a clean freak at home.
21:12No, my wife wouldn't say I'm cleaning at home.
21:15Um...
21:17I'm cleaning all day, so it's the last thing I want to be doing is going home and cleaning.
21:21Yeah, James is going to pay for that comment.
21:23But anywho, here at the manor, this professional never gives up.
21:29To these nuptials, you are not invited.
21:34It's adios mould.
21:37Just this morning, this garden was overrun by mildew, lichen and the dreaded black spot.
21:46But not anymore.
21:47This once-sullied stone path looks as good as the day it was first set in place.
21:55And not a black spot in sight.
22:00I think it looks mint.
22:02Couldn't agree more, James.
22:04Oh, wow, that is so clean.
22:06I think I'm in love.
22:08Mum, Dad, meet Pat the patio, my new wife.
22:10Still to come, a master of cleaning motorbike parts performs a miracle.
22:18Already, look.
22:20The surface.
22:22The improvement on that.
22:25And we've cooked up an oven cleaning catastrophe.
22:29This is going to be difficult.
22:31I'll do my best on that, but that's, that's heavily used.
22:33OK.
22:34Next, in Hertfordshire, one man is performing miracles.
22:46Give him the filthiest, most rusted engine part and he will make it look brand new.
22:53But what do they call this god amongst mere mortals?
22:55I've got a customer just dropped a box off.
22:59Adrian, of Harris Coastings Limited.
23:02His secret...
23:04One vapour blaster.
23:07A magic chamber of water, crushed glass and a truckload of pressure.
23:14Let's have a look.
23:16Sorcery he hopes can save even this.
23:19What's left of a client's motorbike.
23:22Ooh, looks a bit of a mess.
23:25You could say that again.
23:27Or I could.
23:28It's a bit of a mess.
23:29This set of cylinder barrels is completely corroded.
23:33Caked with slimy grease and cobwebs.
23:36What I'm going to do for the customer is bring them up as good as new.
23:41Step one, fail to prepare, prepare to perish.
23:45Or something like that.
23:47Safety glasses, always get to be careful.
23:49Waterproofs, ready to go.
23:50Step two, get rid of all that grease, which means dialling up the steam cleaner to a scorching 90 degrees and blasting the absolute hell out of those barrels.
24:06Talk about satisfying.
24:11Yeah, I'm quite happy with that.
24:14With the gunk gone, time for the main event.
24:17What we do is when we bait past this, this should bring this up like you.
24:23Adrian, bring it on.
24:27Here we go.
24:29We'll start the process off and see if we get on.
24:31Rust, run for your life as this dilapidated engine part is blasted full throttle, bringing the fury of compressed air and the might of crushed glass.
24:47I mean, we can't see much, but I'm sure it'll be worth the wait.
24:51And yep, years of corrosion have almost vanished.
24:56Already, look.
24:58The surface.
25:00The improvement on that.
25:04Magic.
25:07But this hero's not finished yet.
25:10He's dealing with the inside of these barrels as well.
25:13Requiring plenty of lubricant.
25:16And this baby, a cylinder honing bar.
25:21Adrian, tell us more.
25:23Just run this down very gently.
25:26Just don't deglaze or get any impurities out of the ball.
25:31Then it's just a quick polish.
25:33Oh, that's nice, that is.
25:35And this set of cylinder barrels is sparkling.
25:39Voila!
25:41Finished item.
25:43Just a few hours ago, this engine part was nothing but rust, grease and cobwebs.
25:52But now, it looks like it just rolled off the production line.
25:59Take a bow, Adrian.
26:01You've performed another miracle.
26:02Amazing Cleans.
26:04Bournemouth Seafront from the air.
26:07Our next stop, Bournemouth.
26:10Where even the dearly departed are sometimes in need of a deep clean.
26:15A graveyard.
26:17Which is where the monumental masons of Head and Weeble come in.
26:24Meet brothers, Rob and James, whose family have been funeral directors for four generations.
26:30Right, this one's a bit of a state.
26:34Blimey.
26:36Today, the boys have been asked to restore this family memorial to its former glory.
26:45Which means stripping back the vegetation and the years of grime ingrained in the stone.
26:52I've not actually cleaned one this big before.
26:55It must be about ten foot.
26:57This is up there with some of the worst.
26:59Yeah, definitely.
27:01Especially with all the grass and soil that's within the kerb set.
27:04I did an assessment before, structurally.
27:07Yeah.
27:09All the kerb set and the footpost and headposts are fine.
27:11Yeah.
27:13There's a little bit of concern with the subsidence of the actual headstone.
27:14Despite appearances, this impressive tribute is made from white marble.
27:21But mould and lichen aren't the only things growing.
27:25That's a massive root as well.
27:27Yeah, that bush we're going to need to get out at some point.
27:30I'm ready for a challenge.
27:32Let's get some tools out. Let's go.
27:33Getting rid of this much debris can't be done by two men alone.
27:40So say hello to this spruce it up strimmer and James big blower.
27:47Leaves? You can leave now.
27:50Boom. Same word, two meanings.
27:54Usually he just stands around there looking pretty.
27:56So it's nice to get him out, out and about, getting his hands dirty.
28:00Rob using the blower on the kerb stones.
28:04While the weeds are disappearing fast, the boys' ultimate goal is revealing the kerb set.
28:12Also rumoured, under all that moss and dirt, to be white marble.
28:18The boys dig out a narrow trench beside the kerb stones.
28:26We don't want to dig down too far.
28:27It could knock one of these joints out or basically jeopardise the whole structure.
28:36It's a job which requires a gentle touch.
28:39But watching the boys' every move, their great-grandfather George,
28:44who founded this family business almost a century ago.
28:47He's always overlooking what we're doing, making sure we're doing it right.
28:54No doubt old George would be proud.
28:57It's a lot better than it was.
28:59But it's not over yet.
29:03There's still the headstone to tackle.
29:05It's lichen and dirt.
29:07They're the hardest to get off.
29:09Raking the root-riddled plot.
29:10And now the kerb sets free of soil, there's even more stone in need of a deep, deep clean.
29:20We've just dug out an extra couple of inches, so that's going to make my job a lot harder.
29:25Though with family pride on the line, these boys aren't giving up until this memorial is sparkling.
29:33Find out how they get on later.
29:37Spoiler alert, it gets epic.
29:40Meanwhile, gardens are literally covered in dirt.
29:46But every now and then, it's time to put soil back in its place.
29:51Take this scuzzy piece of al fresco living.
29:55Thanks to the great British weather, scum is multiplying at a terrifying rate.
30:00Though it's no match for the scrubber.
30:04A machine that can stop this infestation in its tracks.
30:11Time for a deluge of high-powered water to make it delightful and satisfyingly spotless.
30:18A large wooden deck, restored to its former glory.
30:22Meet a family picnic table that's been bombarded by heinous spores.
30:27Prepare to die, suckers!
30:32The table is blasted with water from a pressure washer lance.
30:37Just moments ago, you couldn't see the wood for the sleaze.
30:43But now, it's as good as new.
30:45These once wickedly filthy wicker chairs are also scrubbing up a tree.
30:55Bring on that cheese board.
31:01It's finally safe to dine outdoors.
31:03And for those of you fancy enough to have statues, they aren't immune either.
31:12This hound from hell is covered in all manner of mould and lichen.
31:17Before and after footage.
31:20But pretty soon, the pooch is pristine. Look at that! Gorgeous!
31:31Two stone hounds flank the front door of a modern house.
31:34Next, a metal scourer being used on a toilet.
31:38Want to know what's filthier than some extra sweaty rats having a race in the sewers?
31:47It's your oven door!
31:48This cooker is caked in crud.
31:54Which is why it's so reassuring to have these two champs.
32:00Adrian and Stacey of Sussex Oven Cleaning.
32:05Today, I'm going to be following Adrian around as his camera woman.
32:09But just look at what's ready for its close up.
32:13A range cooker.
32:16This grimy Arga Saga is covered in grease and slowly being devoured by rust.
32:24See, this is all dirty.
32:26Inside the doors, so they're nice and grubby.
32:29Again, this is going to be difficult.
32:31I'll do my best on that, but that's heavily used.
32:34OK.
32:35With the pressure on, it's not just the tools of the trade Adrian needs,
32:41but also a shed load of caffeine.
32:44Yes, another tea break.
32:46Yeah.
32:47This is how I work.
32:49Good to go.
32:50The first step is pulling this Arga to bits.
32:54And blasting it with plant-based detergent.
32:59So, again, this is safe for the enamel, which is great.
33:02Don't have to worry.
33:03Meanwhile, the oven racks have a special treat in store.
33:07AKA, the dip tank.
33:10Filled with boiling water and sodium hydroxide.
33:14It should eat away all the fat and grease and carbon.
33:18And all the stuff should come out looking brand new.
33:23Then comes the fun bit.
33:25Removing the years of grease and gunk.
33:28Just taking off the worst of it with the blade.
33:32But if you think the flu's filthy, check out what's attached itself to the hob.
33:38Oh, wow.
33:40Layer upon layer of congealed fat.
33:43Yum.
33:44A lot of people don't even realise there's this much dirt on the Arga.
33:47He sweeps the flaked dirt into a dustpan.
33:52Yuck.
33:54Next, this mucky oven needs to be scrubbed top to bottom.
33:58After giving the top a good scrub, he pours a bucket of brown water down the sink.
34:02A job just as glamorous as it looks.
34:11Followed by a powerful burst of heat from Adrian's crusty steam cleaner.
34:18From which, dirt, there is no escape.
34:21And when it comes to all that rust, forget subtly, the only tool for the job is a wire brush.
34:32It's an intense slog.
34:35But this is a battle Adrian's definitely winning.
34:40It's always starting to look quite shiny.
34:45The newly fabulous fixtures have popped into place.
34:49And this once-greased, grime, and rust-covered oven now has a transformed hob,
34:59delectable doors, and it's all-round delicious.
35:04Good job, well done.
35:05Yeah, good job, yeah.
35:07A victory best celebrated with yet another cuppa.
35:13Still to come, a putrid pond is completely transformed.
35:16We haven't been here in a year. It's definitely due to its maintenance.
35:21And find out what lurks in some of the world's most revolting swimming pools.
35:27If you dare.
35:28Amazing cleans.
35:29Welcome back to this celebration of dirt-destroying.
35:43Back in Bournemouth, monumental megastars Rob and James are giving this once majestic memorial a new lease of life.
35:52The next challenge, the slab.
35:56It's stones trapped under a layer of soil.
36:00It's probably been at least a good 50, 60 years since anyone's actually been able to see them.
36:06But before they can even think about the deep clean, they need to defeat this adversary, a noxious weed with delusions of grandeur.
36:19I think this one's dead.
36:20But while it's putting a dent in Rob's toolbox, eventually his persistence pays off.
36:27We've managed to get the stump to where we want it to be.
36:30So that's that done. Now it's the fun part.
36:32And what could be more fun than unleashing the mortal enemy of mould and lichen?
36:41Bring on several gallons of alkaline cleaner.
36:46And check out this beast.
36:48It's the steamer of salvation.
36:51Engineered with intense power, it can make even century-old stone look as good as new.
36:57The steam cleaner can go up to 150 degrees and that will burn up to five litres of water per minute.
37:06These parasites don't stand a chance.
37:11Transforming up to 500 headstones a year, Rob loves nothing more than going full throttle.
37:19Which means James can return to standing around and looking pretty.
37:23Quite enjoying not being covered in lots of water and dirt.
37:30He's blasting all the ick and slowly revealing the crisp white marble underneath.
37:37There's probably a chance that the living relatives have not seen the headstone in its former glory.
37:44So it's going to be nice for them to see the headstone properly renovated.
37:49That's going to be lovely.
37:51Lovely is putting it mildly.
37:53With the decades of grime dissolving in seconds, these boys are performing a miracle.
38:01But Rob's not finished yet.
38:04He's scrubbing every square inch of marble by hand.
38:08By hand.
38:09I'm just getting the last layer of grime off basically.
38:16I'm tired just watching him.
38:17The large marble cross before the clean up.
38:21This monument was once covered in mould, lichen and the beginnings of a small rainforest.
38:32But now it's dazzling white marble is finally revealed.
38:39Making it impossible to tell this family tribute is actually 96 years old.
38:49We're guessing Grandad George couldn't be prouder.
38:53Definitely, yeah.
38:54And considering he's just over there, he's been watching all day.
38:57So yeah, it's nice.
38:58Lovely isn't it?
38:59Lads, it's stunning.
39:02A pristine swimming pool.
39:06Next, as probably everyone likes a pool cleaning clip pulled from the internet, hold on to your swim hats.
39:13Here's a load for you.
39:15Jump right in.
39:17Your chances of catching typhoid, almost minimal.
39:21Forget fun and sunshine.
39:23Skimp on the chlorine and you'll be drowning, not waving, in filth and green slime.
39:33This swimming pool was last cleaned eight years ago.
39:38The water's black and the mould out of control.
39:43But get ready to reacquaint yourself with your breakfast.
39:47Because below the surface, things get really scary.
39:53Though if you think this horror movie is a one-off, think again.
39:58For pro pool cleaners, the world over this, this and this are all business as usual.
40:09Oh wow, parties aren't the only thing that have been thrown in this hot tub.
40:14And I don't even know what that means.
40:15But believe it or not, power up that jet washer and eventually even this broth of bacteria can be transformed.
40:28Wowzers.
40:30Anyone for a clothes optional glass of fizz?
40:32Though to deep, deep clean a swamp like this one requires the patience of a saint.
40:46But what a difference.
40:49Delicious.
40:50Meanwhile, this pool might be portable, but the filth was going nowhere.
40:57That is until this dirt destroyer intervened.
41:04Scum busting is just so scrumptious.
41:07And as for this meltdown, after a decontamination plan on a monstrous scale, it's RIP mould and smell you later, toxic sludge.
41:21Finally, after eight long years, we can honestly say, come on in, the water's lovely.
41:31And now it's time to wade into the work of more pro cleaners with a camera.
41:37If you have a pond that's started to pong, meet Polly and Matt of Upstream Aquatics.
41:43I've been running the company coming up three years now.
41:46Matt, my colleague today, he's fairly new, so this is his first pond rodeo today.
41:55Here we are.
41:57Get a pond, they said. It'll be good.
41:59But the reality stinks.
42:02It's become a putrid pit of green slime.
42:05A rancid stew made of goo.
42:08Any views of the bottom are long forgotten.
42:12We haven't been here in a year. It's definitely due to its maintenance.
42:14I think that's fair to say.
42:17The plan is we're going to remove all of the fish, drain the water, probably put Matt on that.
42:23And then when we get down to the bottom, it'll be full of sludge.
42:26You know what a girl wants, Polly. Let's go!
42:31Step one is draining the depths.
42:34Scummy water is sucked up together with some of the sludge.
42:37Get in the gunk gobbler!
42:40Before the pond's emptied completely, these little guys are fished out.
42:46We're pretty much at the bottom. There's more sludge than expected.
42:49So we're just working on getting that out.
42:51Now all the fish are out.
42:52They're just sitting in this container. It's just temporarily.
42:54Time for more pressurized jets of water to wangle off more slurry.
43:04And it's so satisfying.
43:07Polly and Matt set to work with pressure washers.
43:10And slowly, the pool liner is cleared of dirt.
43:12Grossness be gone!
43:20Just waiting for it to fill.
43:23And that's it, really.
43:25It's all gone swimmingly.
43:27They're going to leave the pond overnight for the particles to settle.
43:31And as if by magic...
43:34It's looking much clearer. We've got the fish out and about and swimming.
43:38Yeah, and everyone's very happy, so job well done.
43:42Polly the pond defender has done it!
43:45Once a murky muddle, this mini lagoon is now immaculate.
43:53Join us next time as we carry on the fight against Phil.
43:58This stuff looks pretty grim. It's a bit wiffy.
44:01Battling everything from the mankiest driveway.
44:05Satisfying seeing it become brand new again.
44:07To a giant greenhouse engulfed in slime.
44:12It's that dirty. You've got to keep going over it and just keep pounding at it.
44:15And many more amazing cleans.
44:17Please!
44:18The End
