The ancient Herod Atticus theatre, which sits below Athens’ Acropolis, is closing for major restorations. The theater is currently hosting its final season before the closure with a full-scale performance of Puccini’s Turandot, an opera set in China.
After its temporary hiatus it is hoped the Herod Atticus, which has been a hub of the arts since the Second Century, will remain in use well into the future.
