A family business previously a takeaway called Alfa Tandoori but will now be an Indian restaurant and bar called, Amin Tandoori, Queens street, Portsmouth on Monday 23 June 2025

00:00So my name is Sai and this is my dad and he's been running the Alpha Tandoori for

00:0440 years now, so it's the 40th anniversary and he just wanted to revitalize the

00:09business and he's looking to retire soon so he's given it to us to manage along

00:15with my sister and and yeah we're just refreshing everything, put new items on

00:20the menu and we've got a fully licensed business now and as you'll see from the

00:26little picture of that corner it's been fully modernized. Previously it was just more of a

00:32takeaway business you know it's been a big part of the community for 40 years now so we've had a

00:38real good local trade you know he's managed to support his whole family for the last 40 years

00:43but it just needed a refresh and obviously with time of changing now everyone likes to sit in a nice

00:48fully refurbished restaurant and and yeah I think the community have already been passing by saying

00:54how amazing it looks and a lot of people are looking forward to come and sit down with their families

00:59and have a great time. Excellent and so I understand that it's not only just the

01:04uh interior that's changed and there are a few uh new items on the menu. Yeah absolutely yeah so as

01:10I said it's now fully roasted on um in terms of the dishes themselves we've now really kind of

01:15refreshed them and adding a lot of fresh garnishes and you know the dessert menu we've got

01:21um in partnership with our sister company Baker Ellie's in Leon Solent uh so we've got things like

01:27the mango cheesecake um we've got things like uh more authentic gulab jammin and served with some ice

01:33cream so I think it's really you know people are going to really come and have a uh be able to have

01:37a three-course meal alongside some refreshing drinks and and cocktails also. So bringing something

01:44different to what? Yeah absolutely I mean there's nothing else in the area um you know you obviously

01:50there's lots of our competition around but in terms of service and when people come here they're

01:55going to get five star service absolutely. Wow for the existing customers well thanks for using us

02:00for the last 40 years and uh hopefully you're gonna be around to use us for the next four years

02:05and to the new customers um as I said give us a try and we'll definitely look after you.
