New cafe, restaurant open in Southsea, Chaiiwala

00:10We started because we used to visit Southall Ranch Chaiwala and we really loved it.

00:16Me, my mum and my sisters.

00:18And then we contacted them because we really wanted to open one.

00:22And then I think a year later they emailed us and they spoke to my mum and my dad

00:27and we had an interview with them.

00:29And then it went well and they accepted us and that's how we started opening.

00:34We just really love Chaiwala, that's why.

00:42What is Chaiwala?

00:44So it's like a South Asian street food restaurant.

00:48This is our second branch. We have one in Southampton.

00:51This is our second one in Portsmouth.

00:54Hopefully we can open another one in Bournemouth.

00:58But maybe after another year or so. Inshallah.

01:02What is it about the chai?

01:05Just like, you know, normal Indian chai.

01:08Like your mum would make at home for guests and stuff.

01:11Some people just say masala ki.

01:15Some people just say like spicy ki.

01:18So that is the type of that we call Chaiwala.

01:23Kharaj Chai, this is the main item on the Chaiwala.

01:28This is completely everything including the dhal chai.

01:32So going back to the sub-level, the information in Chaiwala is very accurate.

01:40Did you have a business before?

01:42So we just, my dad opened a grocery shop in Southampton like 2009.

01:50Yeah, so they did that for a long time.

01:53And then in 2021 we acquired about Chaiwala.

01:58Then in 2022 we opened.
