Family of ‘much-loved brother and father’ appeal for information over his murder

The family of a “much-loved son, brother and father” who was shot dead in north London have appealed for information about his murder.

00:17a lack of information around his death. Police previously said they had arrested four adult

00:24men on suspicion of murder, who were subsequently bailed. Mr Abdi Mohamed's younger sister, 23-year-old

00:34Amal Abdi Mohamed, said he was a loving father to his son and was planning to get married

00:42over the summer. She added that her brother had worked at Waterloo Station as well as part-time

00:51at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Royal Ascot as a security worker.

01:21just a name in the news story. He was everything to us. He was taken away from us through gun violence.

01:28A bullet didn't just take its life. It tore through our family, through our hearts and it's truly shocking.

01:36It's devastating and it's so senseless because this type of violence should never be normal.

01:41It should never be something a family ever has to expect, prepare for or live with.

01:49My sweet Mahat was the kind of person who can light up any room without even trying. His loud

01:56laugh still echoes in our memories. He had this rare gift of making people feel seen, heard and loved and

02:04if you were having a bad day you would just want to be around him. He was funny, he was honest and he was

02:11just a good person. But let me be clear, my brother wasn't perfect. None of us are. He made mistakes in

02:20his life like many of us do. But what made him remarkable was that he didn't stay stuck in those

02:26mistakes. He changed his life around.
