00:00Iran condemns U.S. attacks on nuclear facilities on Saturday and upheld its right to legitimate defense,
00:16carrying out a forceful response against Israeli key targets.
00:23And in Palestine, Israeli occupation forces killed 51 civilians in the last 24 hours at the death toll in the ongoing genocide in Gaza, near 56,000.
00:37And the government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo extended a ban on cobalt exports for another three months.
00:48Hello, welcome to From the South. I'm Luis Alberto Matos from the Derezu Studios in Havana, Cuba.
00:53We begin with the news.
00:55President Donald Trump announced the United States' decision to become directly involved in the Israel-Iran war following its launch of attacks against nuclear facilities in the Persian nation.
01:18In official statement, Trump informed the U.S. Army has completed an attack on three nuclear facilities in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.
01:28With this military move, Washington, under President Donald Trump, has decided to use military force against a Middle Eastern country that was not preparing to attack the United States.
01:37According to Israeli officials, the Trump administration informed Israel in advance about the U.S. attack in Iran.
01:43Following this move, U.S. bases in West Asia are entering high alert.
01:53The Foreign Minister of Iran, Abbas Arakshi, described the operation by the United States as a brutal military aggression and claimed that the only thing that exploded on Sunday is the diplomacy of the United States.
02:03During an address from Istanbul in Turkey, Iraq is reminded that Iran has insisted several times on the alternative of dialogue and now, after this aggression, no one can demand that Iran presumes that path.
02:17In this context, the Iranian Foreign Minister, who announced his intention to trout Moscow to mate with Russian President Barack Putin,
02:23questioned how much space may be left for a concerted exit and confirmed that compliance with the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty has not served to protect Iran.
02:33Moreover, Arakshi held the U.S. government responsible for the consequences of its actions, including Iran's legitimate response to the latest aggression.
02:41The world must not forget that it was the United States which, in the midst of a process to forge a diplomatic outcome, betrayed diplomacy,
02:56by supporting the genocidal Israeli regime's launch of an illegal war of aggression on the Iranian nation.
03:03Not content with such malign actions, the United States itself has now also opted for a dangerous military operation and aggression against the people of Iran.
03:18In doing so, the U.S. administration holds sole and full responsibility for the consequences of its actions, including the Islamic Republic of Iran's right to self-defense under the principles of the United Charter.
03:37Furthermore, the Iranian Foreign Minister called for an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council regarding the recent U.S. attack.
03:43The Islamic Republic of Iran calls on the Security Council to convene an emergency session to unequivocally condemn the criminal act of aggression by the United States against Iran
03:58and to hold the administration in Washington accountable for its violations of fundamental principles of United Nations Charter and of norms of international law.
04:10In this context, thousands of Iranians attended a rally in central Tehran to condemn the combined aggressions of the governments of Israel and the United States.
04:18The latter escalated the ongoing conflict by attacking Iranian nuclear facilities on Sunday.
04:23Gathered at the Capitol's Revolution Square, demonstrators, mostly students and faculty members, were joined by President Massoud Pesheshkan,
04:30who further denounced the crimes of the U.S. and the Sadness regime on Iranian territories.
04:34And the Iranian parliament voted to close the Strait of Hormuz following U.S. strikes on three key Iranian nuclear facilities.
04:47The proposal now needs to be greenlit by the government's Supreme National Security Council.
04:52According to experts, the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz in response to the Israeli attacks would be a catastrophe for world markets due to the global dependence on crude oil coming from this international passage.
05:05Rising oil prices could lead to energy shortages in fuel-dependent regions of the Middle East, including Asia, Europe and North America.
05:13The Islamic Republic of Iran launched the 28th wave of hypersonic missiles of Operation True Promise 3 towards various locations in Israel.
05:27The new wave of missiles hit several cities in northern and central Israel, among them Haifa and Tel Aviv, where strong explosions were reported and where authorities reported direct damage to key infrastructures.
05:37Likewise, anti-aircraft sirens sounded in localities such as Caesera, Ashdod and areas of the occupied North.
05:47In a sense, this new chapter raises the level of regional tension.
05:50And both Congressional Democrats and Republicans condemned the U.S. attack on Iran's nuclear bases, emphasizing that it is unconstitutional.
06:05Following President Trump's confirmation of the bombing against Iran, Republican and Democrat congressmen condemned the U.S. attack and denounced the decision erving that it should have passed to Congress.
06:14According to U.S. laws, Congress has the power to declare war on a country.
06:20Thus, the attack on Iranian facilities is considered an act of war against Iran, which was directly and unjustifiably attacked by Israel a week ago.
06:30With one answering President, the bill is passed.
06:33The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, categorically condemned the U.S. attack on Iran.
06:43Through his telegram account, the South American head of state called for world peace and international solidarity with the Iranian people.
06:50In his message, Maduro stated,
06:51I strongly and categorically condemn the violent attack perpetrated by the U.S. against the Islam Republic of Iran.
06:58This criminal action violates the norms of international law and the charter of the United Nations, endangering life and peace.
07:05In addition, the Venezuelan President emphasized peace is what humanity wants.
07:09From Venezuela, we advocate for a world of respect, quality and dialogue without violence or war.
07:14I express my absolute solidarity with the Novo-Iranian people, the government and those around the world who fight for sovereignty and peace.
07:22No more wars.
07:28And Russia's Foreign Ministry issued a statement condemning the United States' strikes on several nuclear facilities in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
07:35The communique adds that this reckless decision to launch missile and aerial strikes on the territory of a sovereign state constitute a blatant violation of international law,
07:46the U.N. charter and relevant resolutions by the U.N. Security Council, which has consistently and unequivocally deemed such actions unacceptable.
07:54The attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities have dealt a substantial blow to the global non-proliferation regime built around the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.
08:03They have significantly undermined both the credibility of the NPT and the integrity of the International Atomic Energy Agency's monitoring and verification mechanisms.
08:13We expect the IAEA leadership to respond properly, professionally and transparently, avoiding vague language or efforts to hide behind political equidistance.
08:22Obviously, the U.N. Security Council must take a firm stance as well as confrontational and destabilizing actions taken by the United States and Israel must be collectively rejected.
08:33For its part, China's foreign ministry also strongly condemns the U.S. attacks on Iran and bombing of nuclear facilities under the safeguards of the IAEA,
08:48adding that the actions of the U.S. seriously violate the purposes and principles of the UN Charter and international law and have exacerbated tensions in the Middle East.
08:57China calls on the parties to the conflict, Israel in particular, to reach a ceasefire as soon as possible, ensure the safety of civilians and start dialogue and negotiation.
09:06China stands ready to work with the international community to pull efforts together and uphold justice and work for the restoring peace and stability in the Middle East.
09:16And protesters gather in the Philippine capital of Manila on Sunday to voice their objection to U.S. strikes on Iran.
09:29Amid a wave of protests, posters, slogans and mass mobilizations, the demonstrators made their strong opposition known to the recent U.S. military actions directed against the Islamic nation.
09:39Through their collective presence, they also firmly condemned the northern country's persistent attempt to dismantle the country's nuclear infrastructure,
09:47an infringement on national sovereignty and a threat to regional stability.
09:57Meanwhile, in South Korea, hundreds marched through the streets of Seoul to protest against the recent U.S. airstrikes against Iran,
10:04with slogans and banners they demanded an end to the U.S.-Israeli escalation.
10:09Protesters stated that the U.S. bombing is a wrong decision that would only lead to further instability in the region.
10:15They also warned about the warring situation that threatens world security.
10:18On the other hand, hundreds of people gathered in Ankara to condemn Israeli attacks against Iran.
10:30The march took place under the slogan,
10:33No passage to Israel, Turkey, Iran and Palestine side by side.
10:37With banners and flags in support of an independent Palestine,
10:40demonstrators also called for the closure of U.S. military bases in the country
10:43and affirmed that the enemy is only one.
10:46The U.S. supported Israeli Zionist entity.

13:20One runs after his own sustenance and the sustenance of his children.
13:31I left with nothing at home but a plate of rice, and we went out to death.
13:35In truth, it's a good thing for us because one doesn't have anything to buy from what's
13:39available due to the prices, in the United States no prices like this.
13:43Thousands of people must walk miles to reach the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation Centers, three
13:54of which are in the far south outside the city of Rafah.
13:58Palestinians said the danger begins when the crowds enter the Israeli military zone encompassing
14:02Rafah.
14:03Those who managed to survive the Zionist massacres and reach the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation Centers
14:08face a harsh reality, total food shortages.
14:12You enter the streets to arrive before the people, to the point of death as I call it,
14:22I call it the point of death, the tank is in front of us.
14:25The machine gun is in front of us and the quadcopter is above us, and there are soldiers
14:30on the ground with snippers, anyone who moves before the time is shot, and the moment the
14:34tank retreats.
14:35We start running, a long distance, about 600 meters, we run it from the place where we are
14:40to bring aid.
14:41Israel claims that it has only fired warning shots at suspects approaching its forces on
14:53the roads leading to the humanitarian foundation's food centers engaged.

15:32Iran.
15:33In this dramatic scenario that includes Israel and Palestine, the daily suffering of the population
15:51risks falling into oblivion.

16:02becomes more and more pressing.
