00:07According to local health officials, at least 40 of those killed over the past day died

00:12as a result of Israeli gunfire and airstrikes on Wednesday.

00:16The deaths included the latest in near-daily killings of Palestinians seeking aid in the

00:20three weeks since Israel partially lifted a total blockade on the territory.

00:25This man's nephew was gunned down by Israeli occupation forces while trying to secure

00:30a bag of flour.

00:31On Tuesday, Gaza's health ministry said nearly 400 Palestinians had been killed, and more

00:53than 3,000 wounded since aid deliveries restarted in late May through the U.S. and Israeli-backed

00:59group, the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, GHF.

01:03In Geneva, the head of a U.N. inquiry joined a growing chorus of criticism of the GHF's

01:09operations.

01:10But this initiative of what's called a foundation, a private foundation to supply food, is what

01:19I see as outrageous because it involves the United States itself, the government.

01:26And it turns out, as we watch daily, that people who go to those centers are being killed as

01:35they seek food and so on.

01:39The events of the last two weeks with the Geneva Humanitarian Foundation are just the most serious

01:48exacerbation of a 20-year-old problem.

01:51People should not have to make a decision that they will risk their lives in order to obtain

01:57food to feed their kids.

01:59And yet this is exactly the choice that is confronting people in Gaza now.

02:04The U.N. and major aid groups have refused to cooperate with GHF over concerns it was designed

02:10to cater to Israeli military objectives.
