00:00The daughter of survivors, Boston Rob Mariano, is recovering from an unexpected hospital visit.

00:06While on vacation with her family in Mexico, 14-year-old Karina got poked by this plant on the golf course.

00:13On June 16, Rob wrote, she had a pretty severe reaction to the plant and was in a lot of pain.

00:19The doctors did an ultrasound to look for the spine, but instead found an abundance of fluid inside her knee where the plant pricked her

00:25and prescribed some antibiotics and anti-inflammatories.

00:29But luckily, Rob says Karina started feeling much better after receiving treatment.

00:34The culprit of the prickly situation is the Spanish dagger plant.

00:38The leaves are thick and stiff, ending in a pointed dagger-like shape.

00:42The family's been staying in Cabo San Lucas, celebrating the end of another school year.
