00:00Merlinda, today is the sixth day of the conflict. What is its impact and possibility, in your opinion, of it spilling over to the region?
00:08There were reports that Israeli warplanes violated briefly the Turkish airspace, facing a quick response by the Turkish defences.
00:16What do you make of everything that is happening?
00:19Well, what is happening is that, even if Iran is responding very efficiently to the Israeli aggression,
00:29we can see that Israel is always one step ahead in the escalation ladder.
00:35And they try to go one step ahead, to force Iran to go one step ahead.
00:40And at the end of the day, the objective of that strategy from Israel is to push the United States and its allies into the conflict.
00:50So they are trying to make everything to make this war a regional war and an international war with the implication of the United States.
01:01European countries might be involved, but really they don't have the military capacity to be of any change.
01:09United States, yes, can really be a game changer, I would say, for Israel in the question.
01:15But European countries or Turkey has a very good marine.
01:19So they're developing itself a lot. So maybe it can bring something.
01:24But United States has an aircraft carrier coming into the region and they really have lots of military capabilities.
01:33So it will be the main actor if the conflict extends over just Israel and Iran.
01:39Of course, United States are involved, but not directly.
01:42They're involved in sending arms, sending fuel, logistic and so on.
01:47And so on.
