Delhi CM assures steps to fix waterlogging issues as monsoon nears; Vows to restore Yamuna ‘glory’

New Delhi, June 18, 2025 (ANI) : Chief Minister Rekha Gupta assured steps to tackle waterlogging issues in the city as monsoon nears. She said that the drains were to be checked regarding the problems relating to blockages and connectivity. “We need to check whether the drains have any blockages, are narrow, or lack connectivity. Yesterday, we took cognisance of problems where they arose. Immediately, the next step of action will be taken. But I am relieved that water did not stagnate in the Minto Bridge area. Detailed preparations will be made for the dengue situation in Delhi”. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also reiterated her vows of Yamuna cleanup . Speaking on Yoga Day celebrations on the Yamuna Bank in Delhi on 21 June, Delhi CM said “I have a connection to the Yamuna. I want to keep looking at it, so I remember my duty to clean it”
