00:07The actress who plays Lois Lane in James Gunn's upcoming Superman
00:10got on the subject of actors dissing their superhero projects
00:13during an interview magazine chat with Amanda Seyfried.
00:16Seyfried noted,
00:17That's the thing about these movies.
00:19You can feel it when people are doing it with passion and grace and curiosity.
00:23Brosnahan replied,
00:24I don't know why people say yes to a project,
00:26only to then turn around and complain about it.
00:28Look, I don't want to shit on other actors,
00:31but there was a minute where it was cool to not like superhero movies
00:33and to look back on projects like this and poo-poo them.
00:37Do it or don't do it, and then stand by it.
00:39Actors have previously made comments about their past superhero work,
00:42such as Dakota Johnson, about her 2024 Sony flop Madam Web,
00:46telling Bustle,
00:48I had never done anything like it before.
00:49I probably will never do anything like it again,
00:52because I don't make sense in that world.
00:53And I know that now.
00:55But sometimes in this industry you sign on to something and it's one thing,
00:58and then as you're making it, it becomes a completely different thing.
01:01And you're like, wait, what?
01:02But it was a real learning experience.
01:04And of course, it's not nice to be a part of something that's ripped to shreds,
01:07but I can't say that I don't understand.
01:09Madam Web co-star Sidney Sweeney joked while hosting Saturday Night Live,
01:13you might have seen me in Anyone But You or Euphoria.
01:16You definitely did not see me in Madam Web.
01:18Christian Bale criticized,
01:20no, not his Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy,
01:22but rather his experience making 2022's Marvel disappointment,
01:25Thor Love and Thunder.
01:27And of course,
01:28Ryan Reynolds has made mocking his 2011 Green Lantern movie
01:31into an ongoing punchline.
01:32Brosnahan's Superman opens July 11th.
