00:00I think all the political stuff needs to be put aside now, this needs to be focused on survivors and the government needs to do a lot of work to rebuild up trust from services and for the victims to be able to trust to come forward, to be able to open up and be able to engage in an inquiry because without the engagement then we're just not going to get anywhere.
00:24So that is the responsibility now of the government to be putting active stuff in place now to fix bridges that have been broken through systematic failures for years and years.
00:36Then I do also want to talk about the fact that while this inquiry is ongoing I think it is important to acknowledge that work cannot stop on tackling the crime in the here and now.
00:50And I would encourage there to be some conversations about survival-led education within schools and services so we can start tackling and preventing this crime from happening while the inquiry is ongoing.
01:02We need to be addressing both sides of this issue.
01:04There is a responsibility to fix damage that has been done to so many people across the country but there is also a responsibility to protect future people and we shouldn't be choosing either or either.
01:15We need to be focusing on both of it and I would encourage victims to come forward because even though we have been failed so majorly for so long, together we can do this.
01:29We can make a difference without people speaking up and suffering in silence.
01:34Things will never change and people hopefully can have the courage to start speaking up and coming forward and fighting for their own justice.
