00:00Well, the government need to get on and hold this inquiry.
00:02They promised six months ago, half a year ago, to have an inquiry.
00:06They have done absolutely nothing since then.
00:09And by doing nothing, they are complicit in the cover-up of these appalling crimes.
00:14Young girls, as young as 10 years old, mainly young, white, vulnerable girls,
00:18were being abused by men of mainly Pakistani origin.
00:21And that was covered up by the police and by local councils
00:24because they cared more about so-called community relations
00:27than they did about protecting these victims.
00:30We need an inquiry to get to the truth.
00:32We forced the government into agreeing to one half a year ago.
00:35Since then, they have done absolutely nothing at all.
00:38They're letting down victims, and that is why we're publishing today
00:42our own terms of reference to try and get this moving.
