Trump denies Macron's claims linking early G7 summit exit and Israel-Iran ceasefire deal

The US president left the G7 summit in Canada one day early on Monday, prompting French President Emmanuel Macron to say Trump left to work on the Israel-Iran ceasefire deal. Trump denied this on his Truth Social platform.

00:01Leaders of the group of seven countries have signed a joint statement calling for a resolution of the Iranian crisis,
00:08saying this will lead to a ceasefire in Gaza.
00:13They called Iran the principal source of regional instability and terror,
00:17and that Israel had the right to defend itself.
00:21The statement also insisted that Tehran can never have a nuclear weapon.
00:26As Donald Trump made an early exit from the summit and made his way back to Washington,
00:31French President Emmanuel Macron told reporters that the US president had made a ceasefire offer to Iran and Israel.
00:39Trump, however, immediately responded via an online post, saying the French president always gets it wrong,
00:45and that his departure from the summit involved something much bigger than a ceasefire.
