00:00The captain of Italy, lots of pressure on him and the Italians today.
00:03Here comes the team news and Italy make three changes.
00:07In come Benarivo at fullback, 30 in midfield and Casaragi number 18 to give the team a more attacking edge.
00:15So Saki, the Italian coach, has changed the side around.
00:19It's a reshuffle and we'll have Liam Brady's views on that in just a second.
00:23But certainly the Italians, who've had a lot of fiery press back home, have responded by shuffling the pack.
00:31But the Beresi-Costa-Kurta central defensive combination remains the same.
00:36And so much depends, of course, on Roberto Baggio, who hasn't scored a goal in international football since last September.
00:44There's the list of substitutes from which Italy can choose.
00:47As for the Norwegians, well, they've made one change as well.
00:50Well, 21-year-old Zygmunt Rushveld is called up for his second cap.
00:55He replaces Mini Jakobsen, who is left out.
00:58That's a change, really, in the five-man midfield.
01:02And we think that Jostein Flew, number six, may start on the left.
01:05But certainly ten names the same.
01:08And Rushveld just coming in there, number 21.
01:11Now then, with me, Liam Brady, who played six and a half years in Italian football.
01:16Won two championship medals there.
01:18Knows the scene well.
01:19How big a game is this for the Italians?
01:22Well, it's a huge game for the Italians.
01:25Defeat almost certainly means that they'd be packing their bags and going home.
01:29And losing against Ireland last Saturday has obviously brought tremendous pressure on Sacchi and his players.
01:35I think he's shifted his team accordingly to counter this physical Norwegian side.
01:40And if they play to their capabilities, I think they can beat Norway and get their World Cup underway proper, John.
01:48Norway, all in white, a vital game in the 1994 World Cup.
01:54And they just can't wait to get started, somebody in the wrong half.
01:57So Italy play left to right, and the first ball forward for Nicola Berti, number 14, who starts on the right-hand side, up against Bjornaby, who's still a Liverpool player.
02:07And now Fjortov for Norway, number 9, free kick given.
02:10He's accused of backing in, and Italy have the free kick.
02:15Ball put down there by Costa Curta, finds Beresi straight away.
02:22And they're looking now for Casaraghi, the new target man.
02:28I think you'll find this evening it's a more directed Italy side.
02:33They'll be hitting Casaraghi up front and hoping Baggio can feed off him.
02:38They didn't do that against Ireland, they played a lot of passes through the midfield.
02:41And there's a ball played back to number 20 Henning Berg of Blattman Rovers.
02:50And already Justine Flew, who caused England's manager Graham Taylor to reshuffle his team back in Oslo, when England lost 2-0.
02:57He is playing over on this left-hand side, where he'll be up against Benarivo, the right-back.
03:04So I'll ask him about that in just a minute.
03:07Here comes Casaraghi now, and also in there is, well, corner of Bjornaby.
03:16And Italy send up Costa Curta, number 4, and Paolo Maldini from the back.
03:26In fact, Costa Curta has gone right on the goal line.
03:30Paolo Maldini has come up onto the 6-yard box.
03:32And Justine Flew, handy in defence, the Sheffield United player.
03:41What about this Flew-Benarivo thing here?
03:44Signori, number 20, is playing on the left side in this Italian formation to start with.
03:50And a foul there on Roberto Baggio by Lars Bahinian.
03:54Baggio took that one quickly, and oh, a tumble there.
03:57And they thought that Casaraghi may have been pushed.
04:02I think it was Henningberg.
04:04Anyway, play goes on, and Signori again.
04:08And Casaraghi again.
04:09And this time Bratzeth goes across.
04:15Well, Bratzeth had a tremendous game against Mexico during the week.
04:18Here's this chance again on the replay.
04:20I think it's 6-1, half a dozen of the other there, John.
04:22No penalty, referee was right.
04:24No, you're right too, he just ran into him, didn't he?
04:27Throw into Italy.
04:29Signori.
04:33Costa-Curta.
04:41Lively start.
04:43But then, from the Italian point of view, it has to be.
04:47Oof, it's a bit short, and Leonardsman is nearly in.
04:50Roberto Baggio for Italy.
04:52Oh!
04:59Well, he didn't quite catch that.
05:01I think he just caught it on the outside of his foot here, John.
05:06Good effort from Baggio.
05:08And these balls are really moving about.
05:10Here's Baggio.
05:14Signori with his left foot.
05:16In it goes from Dino Baggio, onside.
05:24Well, that possibly got a deflection.
05:26It was Kazuragi's shot, but it seemed to fly off a Norwegian defender.
05:34Corner's been given.
05:35Oh, and Torsvet gets that round the post, and still it's free.
05:55Albertini in there.
05:58And Norway escape.
06:03It didn't go out.
06:06Bertie got the header in.
06:07Torsvet saved it.
06:09And it didn't go out.
06:10Albertini nearly got onto the rebound.
06:13Here's Benarivo.
06:17And Italy have started well.
06:19Beresi.
06:24Bertie again.
06:25This is Leonardsen.
06:28That was a shaky moment for the Norwegians, Liam.
06:34Yeah, good save from Eric Torsvet.
06:38But you just sense that the Italians need a break.
06:40They've started very well.
06:44Great save from Torsvet.
06:48Good header, too, from Bertie.
06:50And he's making a little bit of an impression on the midfield at the moment.
06:53Here's Roberto Baggio.
06:55Signori.
06:57He's played it behind Baggio this time, but he's found his namesake.
06:59And that's a good ball.
07:01Benarivo.
07:02Rating down the right.
07:04Kazuragi is up.
07:06And he's climbing.
07:07Free kick.
07:10Well, you just said that Bertie's made an impression.
07:12There he is now.
07:14He'll get himself in the box.
07:16He's useful in the air.
07:18And that was a good header.
07:20And a very good save from Torsvet.
07:21The ball actually didn't go out of play.
07:24Forward by Bjornaby.
07:31And the young number 21 holding on well.
07:33Good ball by Meeklund.
07:34Onside.
07:35Leonardson.
07:37And Paliuka saves.
07:39With what?
07:40The referee goes to his pocket.
07:41Will the goalkeeper be sent off?
07:43Oh, goodness me.
07:44A red card.
07:46A red card.
07:51Drama here in New York.
07:52The Italians can't believe it.
07:57Leonardson was clean through.
07:59And the referee has shown the red card.
08:04Well, the Italians just caught.
08:05It's Benarivo, isn't it?
08:06He's playing them all onside.
08:09He's straight through.
08:11Paliuka's put his hand up.
08:12And that's a red card offence.
08:14He's got a goal.
08:16The Italians will be putting on their second goalkeeper.
08:19We'll have to see who that is now, John.
08:21Well, he hasn't left the pitch yet.
08:23But Gianluca Paliuka, the goalkeeper of Italy,
08:28has been sent off for handling the ball outside his penalty area.
08:32And Marco Ghianni from Lazio,
08:34the most expensive goalkeeper in the world,
08:37replaces Paliuka.
08:39And they've got to take off an outfield player, Liam.
08:42Yeah, and I think it'll probably be a forward known Saki.
08:44It's a very, very difficult position.
08:46What a position this puts Saki.
08:47They've still got 11 men on the field, Italy.
08:50There's Leonardson there in the picture.
08:51He was the lad that was clean through.
08:53But the pressure is on Marco Ghianni
08:56to be brought on to face the free kick.
09:00Well, this is amazing,
09:01because the Italians still haven't...
09:03They've still got 11 men on the field.
09:05Well, they're down there waving,
09:07but I think they've been so stunned by this.
09:09It was a long time before Paliuka left the pitch.
09:14Well, it's the most incredible decision, John.
09:16He's taken Roberto Baggio off.
09:20I think Saki, with this decision,
09:22is gambling his whole career.
09:24He's taking off Roberto Baggio.
09:30He is, you know.
09:31The number 10 is held up,
09:35or is it just instructions?
09:37It's amazing if you think that Baggio,
09:40their greatest hope,
09:41is being pulled to the line.
09:44And he's off.
09:45He's off, and so is Paliuka.
09:48Norway have a free kick.
09:50What I want to talk about eventually
09:52is whether he actually did handle that ball.
09:54It wasn't entirely clear to me,
09:55but he had his arm out.
09:56It was the intent, I suppose.
09:59Free kick to Norway.
10:02And the new goalkeeper is there having to face it.
10:04And it's flew.
10:07Oh, well, it did fly too.
10:1223 minutes gone in New Jersey,
10:14and the biggest sensation of the 1994 World Cup so far.
10:19Mark Aghiani is on.
10:21Gianluca Paliuka has been sent off for this.
10:24The player through is Leonardsen.
10:26The goalkeeper comes out of his 18-yard area.
10:29He did handle it, didn't he?
10:30That's a Peter Schmeichel, if you like.
10:33No, he didn't, did he?
10:34Anyway, it's a free kick to Italy over on this side.
10:38Now Signori with his left foot to curl it in.
10:40Oh, did it get a touch or not?
10:47Have you just got something on that?
10:49Signori curled it in,
10:50and the five minutes, which is now up,
10:53will be remembered for one incident.
10:58The sending off of the Italian goalkeeper,
11:00but can Signori do something about it now?
11:02Taking on Bratzitz, but no power in the shot,
11:05and nobody up to help him either.
11:10Yeah, a very determined run by Signori,
11:18but tremendous defending again by Bratzitz,
11:21although he didn't make the tackle there.
11:23He really forced Signori out wide,
11:25and he was never going to score from that angle.
11:31This is going to be.
11:40In the 21st minute of this World Cup match in New Jersey,
11:45Italy's goalkeeper Pagliuca was sent off
11:48for handling the ball outside his penalty area
11:50by the German referee,
11:52and in order to bring on the reserve goalkeeper,
11:54they had to sacrifice one of the world's great players.
11:58Roberto Baggio, taken off by Arrigo Sacchi,
12:01will play no further part in this match.
12:03Marc Gianni's on in goal,
12:04Italy are down to ten men,
12:06and the half-time score,
12:08as the world's best player is consoled,
12:11is Italy nil, Norway nil.
12:15Well, this is a World Cup
12:16in which we're never short of talking points,
12:18and I hope you'll stay here.
12:19It's been an honour, Bob.
12:22I'm not too sure about that.
12:25Anyway, just before we return to New Jersey,
12:27let me remind you of our live game tomorrow evening,
12:30which is not to be missed.
13:31Brazil versus Cameroon from San Francisco.
13:44That's tomorrow.
13:46And then on Saturday evening,
13:47you'll be able to see the next performance
13:48of Diego Armando.
13:50Yes, Maradona is back in action,
13:52and these remarkable pictures
13:54followed his spectacular goal against Greece on Tuesday.
13:57Maradona's Argentina versus Nigeria on Saturday.
14:02But at this moment,
14:02it's Italy against Norway in Group E.
14:04Second half coming up.
14:05Let's get straight back to Liam and John.
14:07Well, that shot gives you some idea, Bob,
14:13of the wonderful arena here at East Rutherford,
14:17the Meadowlands Complex in New Jersey.
14:20I've been in some fine stadiums in my time at World Cups.
14:24The Azteca in Mexico City always very near the top of the list,
14:27but two that I've seen here in particular,
14:29this one and the indoor Silverdome at Pontiac,
14:33would compare with any.
14:34It's the right sort of stage.
14:36And whatever the arguments and the rights and wrongs
14:38of FIFA bringing the World Cup to the United States,
14:41up to now,
14:42they're making a real good fist of it.
14:44Now,
14:45to get back to Norway,
14:46Mini Jakobsen,
14:48which is a nickname really,
14:49I think he prefers that on his shirt to his real surname,
14:51he's on the pitch
14:52at the start of the second half.
14:54So Norway have decided to make a substitution.
14:59And
15:00they, of course,
15:01have a man over anyway.
15:03I think maybe Rushfelt,
15:04the number 21,
15:05could have been the player who's gone off,
15:07but
15:07with squad numbers
15:09and with the
15:09referee not making the change from the touchline,
15:13you'll have to bear with us while we confirm that.
15:15What is definite is that Jakobsen will play on the left-hand side,
15:18and
15:18that would give us almost a Norwegian line-up,
15:22which we saw in their first game
15:24against Mexico.
15:26Anyway,
15:26here's Maldini for Italy.
15:29And
15:30Casaraghi starts his first run of the second half.
15:33This is Albertini.
15:33Italy now playing from the right.
15:41That's Costa-Kurta.
15:43Casaraghi.
15:44Now, Liam,
15:49how do you assess that change involving Jakobsen?
15:53Well, perhaps
15:53a chance for Bohinen to get moving for Norway.
15:58He's got Leonardsen in a very good position in the area there.
16:01He got a foot to it.
16:03Here's Fuertoft.
16:03And now it's Flew.
16:09Jakobsen comes in,
16:10the substitute.
16:14Kriertoft.
16:16Meeklund.
16:18Leonardsen.
16:21Bjornaby.
16:21Back to Haaland.
16:28And now it's Flew.
16:33Good cross,
16:33a chance.
16:35And over
16:35from the man who's just come on.
16:40Jakobsen finding himself
16:41in a good position
16:43and not terribly well picked up,
16:45I would say, Liam.
16:47Well, the Italians are trying to play with nine men.
16:49Beresi's off the pitch.
16:50They've got no chance.
16:52And that was a real chance.
16:53Evo is in there as well.
16:54So is Dino Baggio.
16:57And Maldini's gone to join them now.
17:02Let's hope Signori puts it in the right area
17:04and doesn't give it into Thorstead again.
17:10Oh, Baggio!
17:11It's a goal!
17:16It's Dino Baggio.
17:21Number 13.
17:23And Italy, the 10 men,
17:26have taken the lead.
17:29Listen to the crowd.
17:31The stadium has erupted.
17:34Saki
17:34lost his goalkeeper,
17:37lost his captain,
17:38but his team have gained the lead.
17:40In by Signori.
17:42Dino Baggio
17:43with the diving header.
17:46And Italy
17:47have taken the lead.
17:51Well, finally,
17:52Signori's got it in the place that mattered.
17:54He's bent it in there with pace.
17:55And Baggio does this time and time again
17:57for Juventus.
17:58In he comes
17:59and he buries it past Thorstead.
18:00It's a great goal
18:01and no more than Italy deserve
18:03for a very courageous performance.
18:0624 minutes gone
18:07in the second half
18:08in New Jersey.
18:10Dino Baggio,
18:11whose namesake
18:12was sacrificed
18:13in the first half.
18:14There are no related,
18:16not related, by the way,
18:17in case you're still wondering.
18:18Both play for Juventus,
18:19but it's Dino Baggio
18:21who gives Italy
18:22that 1-0 lead
18:23and new hope
18:25in the World Cup.
18:27And I have to say
18:28that Norway
18:29have only themselves
18:30to blame.
18:30they're aiming now for Flew.
18:36They didn't show enough ambition
18:38when they had the extra man.
18:39Perhaps they will now.
18:40Jakobsen.
18:43Three waiting in the middle.
18:44Piotop run offside.
18:46Free kick.
18:46This, Liam,
18:47has changed the whole shape
18:49of the evening.
18:51Yeah, it's a great goal
18:52and must be a great lift
18:54for those players out there.
18:55Sometimes ten men
18:57can work in your favour.
18:59It gives you
19:00a little bit more courage.
19:02You run a little bit harder
19:04and they're really working
19:06for one another now.
19:08Let's hope they can hold on.
19:09I hope they can
19:10because this Norwegian team
19:11has totally lacked
19:12ambition, John.
19:15It's his fifth goal
19:17for Italy,
19:17Dino Baggio,
19:18but it may prove
19:19to be his most important.
19:20Here's Signori.
19:22Signori still.
19:24Oh!
19:27Well, what excitement
19:28we have here now.
19:31That's worth just underlining
19:32that we're still not going
19:34to have a 0-0 draw,
19:35I'm pleased to say,
19:35in the World Cup.
19:36Look at this.
19:37Signori's away
19:38from three of them.
19:39Tried, in fact,
19:40to get the shot
19:41inside the near post.
19:43Flew and
19:44Bratset waiting
19:45on the far side
19:46of the area now.
19:48There's Bratset.
19:50And it's going to come
19:51to Fjertoft
19:51and hook back in there.
19:53Hand went up there,
19:54I thought.
19:54That's Bratset.
19:57I would have thought
19:58there was a case
19:59of Justine Flew
20:00trying to punch that in.
20:01Anyway,
20:02it's gone behind
20:02for a goal kick.
20:07Yeah, they get a lot
20:08of people in the box
20:09and they're very,
20:10very physical,
20:10as we've said.
20:11Oh, the crowd
20:14don't like that
20:15and neither does
20:15Maldini.
20:16That seems to me
20:17unnecessary.
20:22Bratset,
20:23Leonardsen!
20:25No!
20:26No, the referee's
20:27pointing to his arm,
20:28he's not going to
20:28allow the goal.
20:29An arm was used
20:34in there,
20:35it's no goal,
20:35Leonardsen's shot
20:36did just dribble
20:37over the line
20:38but if you watch
20:38the arm go up here,
20:40it's René Bratset
20:41on the far post.
20:42Handball there,
20:43I think.
20:46And although
20:46Mark Iguiani
20:47let the shot slide
20:49through,
20:49the referee
20:49had already blown.
20:51It's still 1-0
20:51to Italy,
20:52even though
20:53Leonardsen
20:53got the ball
20:54in the net.
20:56Look at that.
20:58Here's Bratset.
20:59Forward by
21:03Henningberg,
21:04this is Bohinan
21:04with the shot.
21:08That's Norway now,
21:09finally committed
21:10some people to attack.
21:11They've actually got
21:12Italy penned
21:13in their own half.
21:15Massaro's been
21:16playing left-back,
21:17he's been playing
21:17midfield.
21:18Liam, I'll tell you
21:19what, Dino Baggio,
21:20he can hardly run,
21:21look.
21:22The crowd kept
21:23the ball for a moment
21:23there, that was why
21:24there was a delay.
21:25Norway have a dangerous
21:26position here,
21:26it's going to be a
21:27long throw,
21:28Bratset and Flew
21:28were both in there.
21:31That's Bratset,
21:32Jakobsen came
21:33around the back,
21:34oh!
21:38Well, he couldn't
21:38have hit it better,
21:40but thankfully for
21:41Italy, he hit it
21:42central,
21:44straight into
21:44Marca Gianni's hands.
21:48Now at the other end,
21:50Nicola Berti chasing
21:51to try and keep the
21:52ball up there for a
21:52few seconds.
21:54An amazing amount
21:55of work there in the
21:56middle of the park.
21:57He's more or less
21:58holding the fort by
21:59himself in there,
22:00here's Massaro,
22:00and the goalkeeper
22:02comes to collect the ball.
22:05Now, did he take it
22:06outside the area?
22:07The linesman stands
22:08without moving there.
22:10The referee comes
22:11across.
22:12Now then, what's
22:13going to happen here?
22:13Marca Gianni came to
22:14get the ball,
22:15Norway are appealing
22:16that he took it
22:17outside the area,
22:18but the whistle has
22:18blown!
22:19And Italy have
22:21beaten Norway on a
22:23day when they lost
22:23their goalkeeper,
22:25lost their captain,
22:26and only finished
22:27with eight or at
22:28best nine fit men.
22:29The goal by Dino
22:31Baggio in the 24th
22:33minute of the second
22:34half has given the
22:35Italians a victory
22:36that will lift their
22:39spirits and may change
22:40the course of their
22:41World Cup.
22:43Some occasion here,
22:45a quite extraordinary
22:47match in many ways.
22:49And it ends with
22:49Italian celebrations
22:51and a final score in
22:52New Jersey of Italy
22:541, Dino Baggio,
22:56Norway 0.
23:01Well, Group E looks
23:02like this.
23:02Ireland, Italy and
23:03Norway with three
23:04points, but of course
23:05the Irish yet to play
23:06their second game.
23:07A victory over Mexico
23:08tomorrow would virtually
23:09ensure qualification.
23:11Four points from their
23:12last two games, and
23:13they're definitely there.
23:15Well, let's find out
23:16what the Irish can make
23:17of that result.
23:18Ray Stubbs has Andy
23:19Townsend, and last
23:20Saturday's hero, Ray
23:21Houghton, with him in
23:22Orlando.
23:25Andy Townsend, John
23:26Watson described that
23:27as a heroic performance
23:28by Italy.
23:28Would you agree?
23:29Oh, definitely.
23:30They were brilliant.
23:31They looked very good in
23:33the first quarter of an
23:34hour, and then when the
23:35keeper went off, it was
23:36tough for them.
23:37I mean, I feel really
23:38sorry for them with ten
23:39men in that heat, but
23:39they did brilliant today,
23:40and they thoroughly
23:41deserved that win.
23:42Ray, Norway were poor
23:43really, considering.
23:44Yeah, I think from the
23:45start of the match, you
23:46could see they were going
23:46for the draw.
23:47They never really went
23:48forward much.
23:49I think the goal tally at
23:51one stage was 10-1 to
23:52Italy, and Italy had only
23:53ten men.
23:54I just couldn't understand
23:55them.
23:55I thought they would go for
23:56the win, get the six
23:57points, and, you know,
23:58they'll be through to the
23:59next phase.
23:59What had you hoped for
24:00before the match started?
24:01Well, obviously, we'd
24:02hoped that Italy was going
24:03to get beat, because we
24:04have had the three points
24:05on them, and still two
24:06games to go.
24:07But fair play to Italy.
24:09We watched the whole
24:09match there and thought
24:10they'd done ever so well,
24:11and the better team won.
24:13So there's that sorted
24:14out.
24:14Let's look ahead to
24:15tomorrow.
24:16Andy, you've been
24:16watching videotape of
24:18Mexico this afternoon.
24:19What do you make of
24:19them?
24:20Well, they're a typical
24:22South American team.
24:23They're short passing,
24:26good touch, good technique,
24:28and, you know, they'll
24:30be very useful.
24:30They've got one or two
24:31players, you know, who go
24:34Sanchez and people like
24:35that, you know, they're
24:36class players and got to
24:37be taken care of.
24:38How do you see their
24:38strengths, right?
24:39Yeah, as Andy said, I
24:40think they're all good on
24:41the ball.
24:41They look very comfortable
24:42when we watch that.
24:43The thing that we've got
24:44to be doing, I think, is
24:45getting crosses in and
24:46getting men forward.
24:47I think that we can
24:48actually beat them in the
24:48air from there.
24:49Everybody okay?
24:50Raring to go?
24:50How's the rush?
24:51Yeah, still there, but
24:52gradually going, gradually
24:54going.
24:54Yeah, everyone's fine.
24:55You don't mind sitting
24:56next to him, obviously.
24:57No, it's not contagious,
24:58I've been told, and we're
24:59all looking forward to the
24:59game tomorrow.
25:00All the very best tomorrow.
25:02Everyone's wishing you
25:02luck.
25:02Thanks for joining us.
25:03Thanks very much.
25:05Yeah, we're certainly
25:05joining that.
25:06Good luck to the Irish
25:07tomorrow, but I think
25:08Italy deserved it, David.
25:10Fantastic.
25:10They were all credited
25:11to them.
25:11I thought, no, we got
25:12what they deserved.
25:13And the goal?
25:14The goal was absolutely
25:15great.
25:16It was well needed.
25:17Great free kick by
25:18Sonori, plenty of pace on
25:19it.
25:20I'd say, Dino Baggio
25:20gets a great header.
25:21The pace on the ball,
25:23really all you've got to do
25:24is stick your head on it
25:25and the pace takes a
25:26pass towards better.
25:27Yeah, it's the pace that
25:28beats Eric, really, Gary,
25:29isn't it?
25:30Yeah, it is.
25:30It's gone right above his
25:31head, but it's only seven
25:34yards out and he's not
25:35quite had enough time to
25:36react.
25:37But a great ball in from
25:38Sonori.
25:39He's got a superb left
25:40foot.
25:41And Dino Baggio, who
25:43carried on injured at the
25:45end, showed his bravery
25:46there as well.
25:46I think John Motson said
25:48it in his commentary that
25:48Norway only really had
25:50themselves to blame.
25:51They did, they did,
25:52Bob.
25:52I mean, Italy are chasing
25:54the game.
25:55You thought Norway had the
25:5610 men and they say that
25:57when, you know, when they're
25:58down to 10 men, Italy,
25:59they've got Brazi,
26:00Peluca off, they've lost
26:03Baggio and they're still
26:04trying to go for the
26:05result.
26:06At the end, they've got
26:0710 men, two of them are on
26:09fit and two important
26:10players as well and they
26:11were still taking the game
26:12to Norway.
26:12A quick look at the
26:13disallowed goal, which was
26:15a good decision, I guess.
26:16I think he was.
26:17I think the referee had a
26:17good game.
26:18I thought he was right with
26:19the sending off and that
26:20looked like he's just nudged
26:21it back there with his
26:22elbow.
26:22And I think it would
26:24have been sad if Norway
26:26had scored then.
26:27I thought they were
26:27pathetic.
26:28I thought their attitude
26:29was a disgrace.
26:31They're playing against
26:3210 men, at the end
26:32they're playing against
26:33eight.
26:33They didn't change the
26:34way they played and
26:35their attitude was
26:36shocking.
26:37They just didn't go for
26:38the win.
26:38They thought a draw would
26:39see them through and they
26:41didn't take advantage and
26:42got what they deserved.
26:42Gary Lineker totally
26:43undecided there.
26:44No, I'm absolutely
26:46delighted.
26:46I'm not saying it
26:47afterwards, but I thought
26:48Italy would go for it
26:49and win and as I say
26:51they've done it in
26:51really with big hearts.
26:53Absolutely tremendous.
26:54David, Gary, thanks very
26:55much for being with us.
26:56That's it.
