00:00This animal park is not just a tourist attraction, but also a space to learn about the environment.
00:08The Croco Park in Agadir in Morocco houses crocodiles,
00:12and by observing their behavior and attending workshops,
00:15visitors can learn about these animals and the human impact on nature.
00:24The objective of this workshop is to teach children
00:28and to make them understand that reptiles are so important in our environment,
00:34especially that they are ectotherms,
00:37and with global warming and all the changes that are happening in our globe,
00:43this category of animals are highly endangered.
00:49So this is our objective.
00:53Crocodiles were native to Morocco until the 1970s,
00:57when the animals slowly disappeared from the country due to being hunted,
01:01but also because of droughts and heat waves,
01:04a problem that the park is now trying to counter.
01:09We have implemented certain ecological solutions to address this type of problem.
01:16We use an irrigation technique for certain plants called soyers and other techniques called mulking.
01:25We cover the areas that need to stay moist with argan shells,
01:28so that this layer, made of argan shells, helps the soil remain moist even during very hot periods.
01:33Today, the park spans four hectares and houses more than 300 Nile crocodiles,
01:42along with various other reptiles, turtles and a wide range of plants.
01:47Now, let's end the last threeiny hydrated minutes.
01:48Now, what doestitrage Société Radio-Canada
01:51answer that means during its newç”± of reflections and all of the need for the lifetime?
