Sasheer Zamata chats with THR at the THR + GLAAD Pride 2025 party and shares how happy she was to see the LGBTQ+ community connect with 'Agatha All Along.' Plus, she reveals why Lady Gaga's 'Mayhem' album has been her pride album all month long.

00:00How are you celebrating Pride Month this year?

00:03Oh, how am I celebrating Pride Month?

00:04I've been really fortunate to be invited to a lot of cool spaces with my peers

00:10and people who have been really influential in the industry,

00:14and I appreciate to be amongst really great people.

00:18What does pride mean to you?

00:20Pride means, I mean, I guess literally the word pride,

00:24just having this kind of instilled strength and not being afraid to show it

00:32and also connecting with a community that has so much love and light

00:37and keeping that tradition going every year.

00:41Who's a member of the community that you're especially inspired by or proud of right now?

00:47Wanda Sykes, honestly. I'll always say Wanda Sykes.

00:49I have looked up to her for a really long time.

00:51She's hilarious, obviously.

00:53I just saw her at the Critics' Choice Awards,

00:55and she told everyone that she always knew I was gay,

01:00so I really appreciate being seen for a really long time.

01:05What has the response to Agatha all along from the queer community been like for you?

01:09Because I feel like it was really embraced.

01:10It was really embraced, and I love it so much.

01:13I mean, yeah, how can it not?

01:15There's so many queer themes inside the show,

01:17and I'm glad that people could watch the show and feel seen

01:21and feel like a connection to the characters and the story we were telling.

01:24And I just feel really honored to be a part of a show,

01:27especially on a big platform like that, that can relate to so many people.

01:32And we're asking everyone tonight, what song is your pride anthem?

01:35Ooh, my pride anthem.

01:38Gosh.

01:39Honestly, the whole Lady Gaga album right now is just on a loop, just blasting.

01:45Yeah, she, for a really long time, has been a champion of the queer community,

01:50and I am really glad that she's here,

01:54and I'm really glad that she's so vocal and supportive of the community.

01:58And yeah, I'll listen to her until I die.
