00:00What was the prep like for the musical scenes and did Patti LuPone give the cast any advice?
00:04Oh, the prep for the musical scenes, I mean, we had Bobby and Kristen Lopez, who are amazing
00:11songwriters and composers, just give us this gift of a song.
00:16And then we had Doug Peck, who was our vocal trainer, and we had all these rehearsals and,
00:21you know, it was like a full choir.
00:23We became a choir.
00:26And I think people were intimidated to sing with Patti because she's a legend, but she's
00:30so down to earth and she just really felt like part of the team.
00:33Like, I think she made us feel very comfortable.
00:36And once we were actually singing together, it just felt right.
00:39How did you embrace your inner witch while filming this?
00:42I mean, I always embrace my inner witch, even before I was on this show.
00:46So I'm glad to be on a show where that is welcomed.
00:48And it really brought the witch out of everybody.
00:50Like, we're all just like pulling tarot for each other and talking about the moon.
00:55It just felt so magical all the time.
00:58Given that all this magic was happening, did anything actually spooky happen on set?
01:02Did you ever feel like, ooh, like maybe the spooky vibes are for real?
01:07I don't think spooky.
01:08No, definitely magic.
01:09I do feel like there was like a lot of kinetic energy happening underneath what we were doing.
01:14And I think, you know, when there's a group of people who are like kind of on the same
01:18wavelength, that kind of thing happens.
01:21I know there were a lot of practical effects in the show, practical sets built.
01:24How did that help you as an actor get into character?
01:26Immensely.
01:27I mean, the set designers and the effects people were so good at their job.
01:31And I think they had a lot of fun creating this world for us.
01:34And that just helps us as actors be able to like really feel like we're in the environment
01:38as opposed to like pretending we're in the environment and like looking at a tennis ball.
01:42You know, we're like actually walking through trees and walking on dirt.
01:46And that really helps enhance our performance.
01:48For you, you recently came out as part of the LGBTQ plus community.
01:52What is the fan response to that interview been like for you?
01:54It's been so welcoming and so amazing.
01:57I feel very lucky that I'm in a time where a lot of people are excited for people to
02:03live their truth.
02:04And yeah, I'm just glad to be doing that.
