Friends of Friendless Churches are saving historic places of worship
Transcript
00:00Hi everyone, I'm Rachel. I'm the Director of the Friends.
00:032025 is going to be a bumper year for us. It's going to be busier than ever.
00:08Shortly, we will complete four major restoration projects on site.
00:13Two of those were for buildings that were on the at-risk register, so they will be taken off that register, which is great.
00:19And we will be able to reopen those spaces for curious visitors, for community use, for people seeking private prayer,
00:29contemplation, or just as kind of pockets of spiritual succour in the landscape.
00:36And I'm so glad that we're able to do that.
00:37On top of that, in 2025, we will have six substantial repair projects on site.
00:43They're going to start with the repair of Worthenbury near Wrexham.
00:48What I will say and what I always say is the only reason that we can do this is because of the support of our members and our donors and our supporters.
00:56Because of you, we are able to rescue these places, obviously, but to employ brilliant craftspeople, expert consultants,
01:07you know, save some of the nation's, really some of the nation's best buildings, and to reopen these places to the public.
01:14And that is what you enable us to do.
01:16So thank you so much.
01:19And yeah, there's so much to share with you over the next few months.
01:22I really, I just can't wait.
01:24I can't wait to get started.
