Large crowds on Wednesday (June 11) evening gathered in a downtown Los Angeles square for a peaceful protest that later spilled into the city's streets.  Armed with banners, posters and flags, the crowds chanted slogans and listened to speeches, before filing off the square and marching to the nearby streets, still chanting in unison.
