00:00Give me some outrights here for this week.
00:03As usual, reading the same mail.
00:05I love to see that when I see your card.
00:08Well, Mike, you read the line.
00:11So, you know, it comes in the mail every Wednesday morning.
00:13You know what's coming.
00:14And it's great that we're sharing the same thoughts,
00:17even from Monday when we did the preview show.
00:19But I'm starting with the Spaniard, Jon Rahm.
00:21This guy's a serious golfer.
00:22A lot of those guys over at Live aren't.
00:24Jon Rahm is.
00:25He had a debacle of a major championship season last year.
00:28In fact, he showed up to the U.S. Open last year at Pinehurst
00:30with a flip-flop on because he had a bad toe.
00:33You know, he is back with a vengeance.
00:35He was 7th and shrewd out of the bad wave.
00:38You flip to this year, 14th in April at Augusta.
00:40You know, he was 8th last month at the PGA.
00:43And you know what?
00:44A lot of people discredit the Live Tour, right?
00:46He's at 19 starts there and 19 top 10s.
00:49Jon is taking this seriously.
00:51He is a top-five golfer in the world.
00:53There's no doubt about that.
00:54He is that level of talent.
00:55But you and I have talked about this week on-air and off-air.
00:58And you keep saying, why Rahm?
00:59Why Rahm over Bryson?
01:00Why can Rahm, you know, test Scottie?
01:03Why can he do this?
01:04And I really think it comes down to the ground game is going to be so important here.
01:08What I mean by that is hitting the targets that are away from the hole
01:11and then letting the ball roll up to the hole in order to make birdie
01:15or save par or whatever you're going to do.
01:17Rahm is really good at that stuff, right?
01:19He takes a lot of pride in being Spanish and like the Seve mantra, right?
01:23He is excellent from the sand.
01:24There's 168 bunkers here.
01:26I mean, as if 167 weren't enough, right?
01:29Like this is the secret sauce.
01:31He's a really good lag putter and he's super powerful off the tee.
01:33He hits the ball just like DJ, just like Angel at plus 1,200.
01:37I think of the favorites.
01:38Rahm is the one that really gives me a lot of momentum and I feel good about him.
01:42Then we got to talk about the kid, Ludwig Oberg, right?
01:45I got him the other day before the preview show at plus 3,500.
01:48I'm not the only one that's thinking this, Mike.
01:50He's down in the low 20s and I think he might be down in the high teens by the time we start tomorrow, right?
01:57He's the number one driver on tour while Rory's figuring out what tailor-made he's using, right?
02:01At 320, he lines the center of the fairway.
02:04It's going to be a huge advantage this week.
02:06And then on top of that, he's building off the last five rounds.
02:09He was great in the final round at Muirfield and then he had four rounds of the 60s up in Canada,
02:13gained over seven and a half with his ball striking, gained like another four with the putter.
02:17All right, and the one thing I really love about him is that you saw last year at Pinehurst.
02:21It was frustrating.
02:22He finished T12.
02:23I love his demeanor.
02:24And then the last guy I'm going with, Harry English.
02:27Nine times he's shown up to the U.S. Open.
02:29Nine times he's played the weekend.
02:30At plus 10,000 or 101, you know, he just fits this.
02:34He was 12th at the Masters.
02:36He was second at the PGA.
02:37And you want to have some comp courses in the U.S. Open.
02:39At Wingfoot in 2020, he's fourth.
02:41At Torrey Pines in 2021, he's third.
02:44Get on Harry English.
