00:00Social housing is a very important part of the housing infrastructure in Murray with the competitiveness of the housing market, the social housing and rentals, it's really difficult to get any sort of rental accommodation as well.
00:14But the housing service has been looking at how it can buy houses and then put them into the social housing stock and also looking at how we can work with developers that might be looking at needing some temporary accommodation and how that might then be able to become housing that we can take on at a later date, as well as our own builds and the builds that we have in our strategic housing plan.
00:42So there's lots of different elements that's being worked on to try and increase our stock and also improve our stock because we also need to make sure that our stock meets all the right standards and it's providing a really good housing option for people.
00:57It's tricky to address the housing waiting list.
00:59I think across Scotland, housing waiting lists have gone through the roof, but we're doing as much as we can.
01:06And again, part of the growth deal, there's some housing in there, that housing mix too, to try and add to the stock and working with partners and other registered social landlords to see whether they're interested as well as coming into the area to provide more stock as well for that, to add to that social housing.
01:26So not necessarily our own housing, but with other registered social landlords too.
