00:00Good morning, happy Tuesday. Here's the latest from your market open.
00:07Well, oil prices just keep rising, boosting Canada's main stock index up this morning with it.
00:12The futures on the S&P TSX index were up 0.2% as of 547 Eastern Time.
00:18The venture is up over 0.5% and futures of the Dow and the Nasdaq both tack on over 20 points.
00:23Let's look at some headlines where the U.S. Federal Reserve will keep interest rates on hold for at least another couple months
00:28as risks linger that inflation may resurge due to U.S. President Donald Trump's tariff policies.
00:34And Canada Post has slammed the brakes on arbitration talks, rejecting the union's terms
00:38and plunging the contract dispute into a deepening stalemate with no clear path to resolution.
00:44Over to Currency Futures where the loonie is glowing green across the board this morning,
00:47sitting at 73 cents U.S., also gaining against the euro, and Bitcoin grabs a hold of 2,400 points.
00:54And bookending with Commodity Futures where copper takes a slight dip,
00:57gold picks up over 0.25%, WTI still on the rise with over 0.5%, holding at $65 U.S. a barrel,
01:04and natural gas falls over 1%.
